Destiny 2 |OT2| Leviathan Wakes (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

Ok someone has to say it. What's even the point of power/light in d2? Enemies just scale to your level and still 2 shot you. You can never feel like a badass in d2 endgame because enemies scale to your level and your gun still takes a full clip to kill a vandal. In Nightfall it is most prominent and absolutely ridiculous.

Looking for folks for NF / Trials / Raid on Xbox! GT = psyfi.

When you get 3 the same you convert them to purple mods.

You can't convert until your power level is 280, but it makes sense to stockpile as much as you can before then.
Cool, thanks for the info!

Yup. There are zero moments where you feel like an exceptional badass guardian even though you're told you are in the story.
It sucks. Especially now that grenades and specials take forever to recharge and most exotics give you perks that legendary gear used to give you.
95% of the time you're playing just some dude with guns, like every other fps.

After at least 10 hours of multiple attempts with different parties for different sections I finally beat the raid today.

Did most sections yesterday and the Callus today. Was damn tough but once things went our way we worked really well and took him down easy.

Up to 292 now which I'm pretty pleased about since I was around 270 before the weeks tasks got refreshed.

Also props to bungie for the level design, getting the chests afterwards was also a lot of fun and some very nice sections.

you are penalized for being under leveled but you are not rewarded for being over leveled. so in essence, there is no point.

Things in the raid that need to be fixed:

Dogs AI / pathing
Hunter dodge removes damage stacks at dogs (also at Calus sometimes)
Getting stuck on pipes and crevices
Nightstalker tether not working on Calus
No loot drop (except tokens) till final boss
Adds teleporting in and out of spawn doors
Minimal ammo drops during final boss

Dogs' pathing is fine. Get a 60X buff and one cycle them.
I've never gotten stuck.
I got SMG and Scout from Raid, have yet to beat the boss.

Can't really speak to the rest of the points.

Yeah I feel like at least the grunt level baddies should be one shottable with a precision hit, nightfall and raid. The swarming gets ridiculous when it takes half a clip to kill an enemy. It becomes a game of maintaining distance always instead of trying to take anything on head on.

In total honesty? It's a gating method. You have to prove you're familiar enough with the game before you attempt more difficult activities.

Destiny is just somewhat unique vs other MMO-types in that enemies scale up with you. But this is mostly so the content actually remains playable as you go, because the sandbox isn't designed to be fun if you were able to 1 shot everything by grazing it's knee with a bullet.

The one part where it got weird was in Destiny 1, they added a high level captain in the starting area of the Cosmodrome, so new players had to try and get around a level 30 captain that damn near would one-shot them.

is it likely Bungie will change the raid in response to our criticism? or are we likely stuck with the raid as it is? i've never played a raid before and so far only have played a little of the current one.

- Dogs AI is fine for the most part. When they go nuts apparently at random its usually to do with them sensing the guys above which a lot of people forget is even possible. But they do seem to be buggy as far as when they spot or not spot you. Its so weird.

- Hunter dodge thing is some BS. Clearly needs a fix

- Yeah I have gotten stuck a handful of times but I get its a tough thing to test for.

- Could you go into more detail on the tether thing? I heard it doesnt give a damage boost to heavy weapons :(

- There are loot drops but they are rare and random. Heck I dont even know which chest gave me the Rocket launcher. I had thought I got nothing and lo and behold the Postmaster had it.

- Seen this and its quite irritating

- Hmm Definitely run into issues with primary ammo for sure!

I understand it's meant to be hard but why even give us the light/power level? In D1 I remember titans tanking nightfall with no backup plans without dying so quick. I dont like this choice they made for d2. Why have resilience, recovery, and mobility if enemies are still gonna 2 shot you regardless of your resilience rating? It just leaves you baffled that a 240 nightfall is killing you at 287 light. Prestige nightfall should be the only one that scales. It's not fun doing the nightfall and getting 2 shotted off my sparrow to get the pulses, lol.

Dunno what's up with the Nightfall. It was unfun when I tried it so I haven't played it since launch.

You can get drops from other encounters other than the final one, it's just somewhat rare

Agree on all points though

Fix the 'trademark Bungie jumping mechanics' please. So tired of jumping left, but my foot (which I can't see) is on something at an angle so I some how jump to the right instead.

This week's NF is problematic because of the Modifier. And it's why they provide the dreg cycles in both those sections. So you can fight back against those things.

I like the Nightfall even though it can be very cheap. This week Riskrunner and Sunshot both shined. As pointed out during one of my runs the fact that it's one of the only 'difficult' encounters outside of the raid is a problem.

The most satisfying difficult Destiny PvE encounter is still Epic - Fear's Embrace. Wish more encounters were designed with cover, subverted cover, varied spawns, varied enemies and all without a reliance on instant death when being shot at. Move your ass and land your shots. That's what Destiny PvE should be about.

I'm looking to try trials, no illusions of flawless just want the trophy and the raid.

I'm a 292 hunter., no mic atm.... Anyone up for it?

Oh, I've only been playing Warlock. So this is a Warlock thing? Ergh.

It's a Destiny thing but it happens way less on Hunter because the Hunter jumping mechanics are closer to standard double and triple jump video game mechanics.

That said, Warlock does have the most difficult jumping style in the game. They're more finicky than Titan or Hunter.
