Dragon Ball Super |OT9| Genki-Drama

Honestly, this was definitely the case for me lol. DBS pretty much forced me to get used to the original voice cast. I have always preferred the English dub voices for DBZ. I still prefer them in-fact, but I can at least say that I don't hate the original voices anymore. Hell, there are a few voices like Future Trunks and Frieza, that I really enjoy.

Yeah, I love Freeza's and Trunks JPN voice actors, especially after dealing with Newstone and Young for years.

Nowaza is the only one I still can't stand in the OG cast and whoever is doing Kale.

honestly i hate most of the english dub... aside from maybe goku, i find them really bad

I grew up with the french version and it's the same mostly, some voice were nice and i'll always remember them, but there's a fucking lot of good moment ruined by lazy actors (worst offender was gohan going ssj2 being a weak "yaaah")

I never been weirded out by japanese goku the first time i heard it on snes and then ps1, in fact i instantly fell in love with it, especially the kamehameha (it was my computer boot up sound at some point, lol)

damn i love this :

What's up with that? Are there any examples in anime of changing the original voice actor due to aging up or does it like, not even occur to the casting people?

It happens, but generally only with secondary characters, or if there's a big break between series (like, say, Osomatsu-kun (1988) and Osomatsu-san (2015), or Arashi's (1982) appearance in Arcade Gamer Fubuki(2003)). So, it basically doesn't happen with the protagonists of these long continuous running action series like Dragonball and Naruto.

I think Frieza is planning to reveal against the gods using everyone he can, that's why he won't ever go against Goku as long as this tournament lasts, then he might plot being the new super god of everything or something

Are you saying Frieza is the true Sun Wukong who tries to overthrow the heavens?

The thing about forms in Dragon Ball is they all eventually get trivialized.

"Holy shit balls, this new form is so far beyond everything....It's like nothing we've ever seen before..."

*New Villain Appears, hero with previously dope form gets trounced*

"Oh god, he can't do anything!"

Blue already felt trivial once Black/Zamasu rolled around.

To be fair Goku was giving Zamasu tons of trouble even when he already merged with Black.

I got to admit though if it weren't for SSB Kaioken, I would probably dislike the form a lot more.

Dr. Rota is a powerful Nen user. Explaining his ability is a prerequisite for his power. Dr. Rota could have easily defeated Jiren with his special ability.

Pan's role was to be strong but still lose to the enemies and then be rescued by Goku, to be a ”heroine who makes Goku a hero". To go off-topic a bit, even the hit movie Titanic moved women because it's a story where the heroine (now an old woman) remembers the hero; isn't that basic movie-making? If the hero doesn't rescue the heroine, maybe adults will understand that life is like that too sometimes, but for children it becomes a very harsh story. Stories where the hero rescues the heroine have a sense of security. Therefore we created a pattern where Pan is imperiled and Goku gets mad at the enemy: ”I won't let you get away with this!"

ah yes, because clearly a woman can never defend herself

That’s right. The last chapter of the original manga is set ten years after the battle with Majin Boo, so initially the idea was to have anime-original stories depicting the events of those ten years, and various such stories were planned out. Content-wise it was thought that the plot would revolve around the exploits of characters such as Pan or Trunks; in other words, the next generation of children.
Then when word was sent to Toriyama-sensei and the Weekly Shonen Jump editorial department that we wanted to make a new series, after some initial meetings the viewpoint emerged that it would be preferable to do a completely original story, separate from the original manga. Certainly that way, with a “Dragon Ball different than the original manga”, Toriyama-sensei could enjoy it too, and there was also the opinion that it would be terribly disrespectful not to make it a separate work from sensei‘s original manga. With that, it was decided to take it in the direction of depicting events after the original manga’s final chapter. In other words, a style of Dragon Ball that wouldn’t drag out Dragon Ball.

lol

Not sure about it being one of the best in the series if I forgot it even happened haha. I respect that opinion but personally would like to see something like 17/18 vs Toppo/Rabbit jobber

That is my feelings about that fight. I barely remembered it after it first aired and when I got to finally rewatched it in Kai, I was 'meh' towards it. It has some decent moment, but I honestly never saw what was the big deal about it.

They're definitely turning in a sucky performance. I expected more from both of those characters lol. Toppo had some hype going into the ToP, and episode 104 really put Dypso on my radar. They're big threats on paper, but feel very ineffectual in the actual tournament so far.

It's also one of the original Z's rare battles that aren't one sided one way or another. Of course, like usual for battles like those, it's fairly short in the manga, so most of the added scenes in the anime don't really go anywhere.

I what world does base form Cabba survive any encounter with Toppo?

This is the question we should be asking.
Cabba has the Saiyan force

In what world are him and Dyspo have no eliminated anyone

It's not the arena lacking with weaklings

Even Ribranne and the Yadrat had

I am almost certain that Toei has more data than TV ratings since Toonami does the same, but hey, it's much more fun to think Toei is being needless bias.
