But....

....where's the Assassin's Creed games? I don't see them.
Ya, I keep thinking it's prime time for current gen Ass Creed's to show up in a bundle or headline a monthly, but with Origins coming out it wouldn't happen. Same deal with The are Cry's.

For mainstream games I think Hitman is a hit headliner for a monthly.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
WWE 2k's PC port is BAD

Graphics are awful at max, entrances and menus locked at 30 lol, getting fps drops randomly and they're from 60ish to 30ish

Ew

Our Visceral studio has been developing an action-adventure title set in the Star Wars universe. In its current form, it was shaping up to be a story-based, linear adventure game. Throughout the development process, we have been testing the game concept with players, listening to the feedback about what and how they want to play, and closely tracking fundamental shifts in the marketplace. It has become clear that to deliver an experience that players will want to come back to and enjoy for a long time to come, we needed to pivot the design.

So basically they want it to become a GaaS.

Sure, it's your decision, I just wanted to make you aware of it since it's a puzzle game (so no replay value) and should be really well suited for VR. I personally wish I hadn't played the flat version.

Anyway, it's a great game!

Yep, beat a couple stages and this is fantastic.

After the mild success of RE7 I actually thought EA and Visceral would reboot Dead Space in the same vein. Like an FPS VR action horror game. It kind of made sense for that franchise but now there is no chance of that happening. They just shut down the entire team damn. EA is so cutthroat and ruthless.

It could potentially also just have been really bad. We will never hear the real reason from an official source.

Stil crazy this game is getting canned. So the only other Star Wars game in development is the one from Respawn and that one is probably in an even earlier state.

Just read the news. EA should just sell Dead Space. A few publishers would probably pony up some cash for the IP.

They will sit on it of course.

For one thing, publishers never sell IPs. Ever. Even if they aren't planning on creating games indefinitely.

A publisher that would be interested in that would be better served investing in a completely new IP, rather than sacrificing a decent chunk for their margins to an upfront payment to EA.
Having an existing property somewhat reduces their risk, but they can make up that ground with a huge marketing campaign.

That compact tool really is cool. Some games really profit a ton.
Cosmic Star Heroine: 5GB -> 2GB
God Eater 2: 14 GB -> 5 GB
Overgrowth: 16 GB -> 7GB
Pillars of Eternity: 14GB -> 8GB

It has to have a catch. I don't get it.

From reading the readme and looking up some info on compact.exe, it simply looks like the CPU load of decompressing stuff at runtime is negligible with moderns CPUs.

I tried it on some programs and don't see any difference in load times.
