Assassins Creed Origins |OT| A Far Cry From Historical Fact

game looks beautiful but just can't get used to the combat. It's like it's attempting to be something of a mix of both the Witcher 3 and Dark Souls, but fails miserably at it. The fact that the targeting system is absolute crap doesn't help either.

Yeah, bummer some are having trouble with combat, it took me until the second area before I got competent at it, now I have little trouble taking on groups of enemies at once. Just took on a pack of 7-8 lions at the same time. Fuck hippos though, theyre dangerous.

Thin out the bodies through stealth and ranged, try not taking on more than one melee at time. Also if you pay attention to the levels of each region, its easy to get smashed if you're under leveled, but its also easy to smash enemies if your a level or two above them. After awhile you'll be taking on all comers.

This game is brilliant. I thought I would be playing Wolfenstein 2 but I just can't stop playing this instead.

Yea, W2 was my most anticipated game this year and now all I can think about is running around Egypt crushing skulls with my mace and barely escaping rampaging hippos. Best open-world game I've played since RDR.

So do you always knock them out when using the "assasinate" option while hiding or is there a way to actually kill them?

As part of story progression
you get the hidden blade, and that allows you to assassinate from stealth or above

Best minority protagonist ever?

Loving me some Bayek.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm enjoying this combat waaaaaaaaay more than the other two AC titles I've played ( AC2, Blackflag).

I switched to the alternative control scheme and I'm having a blast.

I love all of my brothers and sisters on here regardless of where you stand in this whole debacle.

**images censored by me**

These images show consenting adults beautifully partaking in the pleasures our God bestowed upon the flesh. I don't want to alienate the atheists out there, for you too are my brothers and sisters. I'm sure you cannot deny the spiritual high that one receives from a penis sliding hither and tither from ones asshole, vagina, or mouth? Or from tribbing ones clitoris against the moist clitoris of your fellow sister?

It's beautiful.

It's not perverse. It's not sexual assault or harassment or anything of the sort. It is a gift from God. It is a shortcut to the center of the universe. Let us join our dicks together in celebration of human sexuality that doesn't victimize anyone!

If the other forum is full with people like you I stay here with great great pleasure.

Is it worth finishing Syndicate before starting this? I've played all the others, but I just lost interest in Syndicate. I think I'm near the end. But it's a long game. And this seems like a lengthy one too.

I wouldnt. You'd be burned out by the time you started Origins. I was late to the party with Primal and stopped since i knew Origins was coming and the foundation was going to be too similar; glad I did.

So watching some videos this looks very different to other AC games. Am I wrong in assuming that? The combat looks... different... a good kind of different? Did they make a lot of changes to the gameplay? Graphics look decent.

Can camps be overtaken or it always stays in enemys hands? Anytime I revisit the area where i bust major ass these bastids still patrolling like not a single f was given.

A simplified Dark Souls like combat.

I love it. (alternative control scheme)

So... Playing this on PC here. What on earth do walk action and double press movement (from the control options) do? I mean. Seems like it would be obvious, but I see zero difference when I turn them on. Turn on double press movement for auto movement? nothing on double tap. Fiddle with the options for walk action? Nothing changes.

Edit: Double tap seems to be a keyboard only option, but I'll still be damned if I can decipher what walk action does.

Also, if you stick around a minute and watch after you killed a few, a guard will come and pick up the bodies and put them in a pile, and new guards will come and replace the dead ones

It’s been a while since i’ve been excited for an AC game. Egypt is my favourite of the ancient cultures so i’m Pretty hyped. Ordered on Amazon yesterday.

Is there any way to play this game Co op? I remember unity had a marketing push going on about being co op for some missions if I'm not mistaken.

This game feels a lot like Breath of the Wild to me. I'm not far in but so far the gameplay, combat, etc. Feels like BotW or TW3. Looks frickin fantastic on my 980ti too.

So reading some rumors coming out now about AC and it's copy protection.

It seems that ubisoft has put VMProtect on top of Denuvo which all together is eating upwards of 30-40% of the cpu usage on the pc version when playing the game.

Is this true? Is it possible for such things to take that much cpu power?

Would certainly explain why people with higher end cpu's are seeing 100% cpu usage and why I'm getting such crap performance on my 4.4ghz 2600 even if I lower all settings to the lowest.

Certainly they have to understand how much performance loss that is, especially for people on lower end rigs and how much it will hurt legit customers quality of playing the game.

Love this game, wish the framerate was a tad smoother in spots on base PS4, but for a launch week Assassins Creed game is pretty darn good. I haven't ran into any bugs or crashing yet. Played about 10 hours so far, still barely touched the story. Bayek has to be the coolest AC main character yet.

Just taking photos and doing side quests.

Eagle eyes? Didja pop a blood vessel thinking up that one? Jeez gaf is this what you have become? Now given I’m generally a lurker on gaf and hardly post but if you guys think that things are back to normal you are dillusional gaf is dead and rightfully so, evilwhore could have humbled himself for one minute but he has consistently shown what a disgusting pos he is and we suffer for it, bye gaf it was fun while it lasted

Hey, I made the OT. I picked the title in 4 seconds as it seemed vaguely funny, and started the OT so people had a chance to discuss the game. This topic is not intended to be about GAF.

I’m 10 hours in now and 30% completion. It’s really fun and there’s a lot to do.

So, where is the historical journal for this game? I just got to Alexandria, and while its beautiful as fuck, I have no idea what some of the buildings are for besides "Temple" and they don't even tell you historical tidbits...?

I loved Ass Creed games for the historical backstory you can read if you want to for the different areas/buildings you visit. Is that not here in this game?

They're preparing a free dlc that will be released in early 2018 that will basically be a giant, interactive history lesson.

I was just ranting nothing against you, I apologize for my harsh words they were unwarranted and I meant no disrespect. Your response was classy cheers for that I appreciate it

Ok I love this game. I knew I would enjoy it and it has not disappointed yet. Infact so far it has exceeded my expectations.

Combat is just really good. I was afraid the parry would be a problem but it works great, the timing to do it is perfect and feels so satisfying when you do it right.

The mixing up of ranged, stealth and combat works so well here. I have been doing so much cool stuff like taking out more than 5 enemies in different ways and it is not easy to pull off but so satisfying when you do.

Story so far is very.... Confusing. It all feels like the game is about to end soon.. idk if it's short or what but it can't be that short.
I just got a hidden blade and 3/4 targets are already dead and I killed one of them and that was like in the first sequence.

The world is so beautiful and full of different stuff. It gives you that sense of exploration and adventure. The soundtrack is amazingly done as well.

Could very well be my goty if it continues to be this good.

Golgo 13

The Man With The Golden Dong
Been debating between this and Wolfenstein and from reading both threads, people playing this game seem to be almost unanimously happy with it whereas Wolf is garnering some very mixed reviews.

Looks like I’ll have to pick this up soon.

It’s cool, not a problem. For the record I agree NeoGAF is badly wounded.

The game looks amazing on base Xbox One. Can’t wait to see it on X in 4K.
