Git gud. If you want your epeen, at least try and earn it.Can you play on easy and then change it to medium before the end of the game and get the trophy for beating it on medium?

I know everyone should be free to play the game however they want but in my opinion games like survival horror games needs to be played on hard difficulty. The whole point of those type of games is to struggle to survive, that whole fun part comes from....at least for me.Can you play on easy and then change it to medium before the end of the game and get the trophy for beating it on medium?
Some further observations about the remake:
• The game is just way too dark and you can barely see anything in some spots that have direct light sources right next to them. These dark environments are in contrast to game being even more action oriented than the original. You can't be making game with darker environments to make it scarier and then give players a ton of ammunition and less challenging enemies (read below)
• This ties in with my first point. Necromorphs in the original would almost always try to grab you and tear you apart when they were close to you, something that barely ever happens now. This gave you a sense of urgency and struggle to further induce the fear factor, something that is far more effective than just making game environments darker.
• There's a lack of weight when Isaac stomps and swings. In the original you could feel Isaac put his whole weight behind his punches and his stomps, an area that the remake severely suffers in. These weightier punches and stomps made the struggle and desperation far more realistic.
• Characters like Dr. Kyne and Dr. Mercer have been toned down to a point that they just don't have the impact that these characters had in the original. Kyne especially comes as weak and uninteresting compared to his original version. Mercer was far more of a villainous character in the original, something that was marked by his gruesome executiion of Temple.
• Isaac trying to save Kendra at the end makes no sense whatsoever after she betrayed him, killed Dr. Kyne and Cross Infront of his eyes and left him to die on Ishimura. Trying to have player be more sympathetic to Kendra and at the same make her a selfish murderer is just another proof that Motive cannot write good characters.
Overall I think Motive has missed the point of what made the original more of a survival horror and what made it creepy. They also missed the point of what made the original characters and their motives so impactful. The remake feels like a pretty vesion of the original without the creepiness, desperation and memorable characters that kept you on the edge of your seat. This remake is more of a Dead Space Light, EA Motive's toned down version for "modern audience".

I think a lot of that has to do with them making game appeal to wider audience in order to sell. I could understand if they made the game this way for more accessibility while also having more sliders to increase difficulty, change enemy behaviour and resource availability, but as it is it's just not good enough. I just think Motive missed the point of what made the original so horrifying. You didn't need the game environments to be dark to get scared in the original, the rooms that were filled with light would make you crap you pants because the atmosphere and the enemies that want to tear you apart were horrifying enough of a prospect. Now you have tons of ammunition and enemies that are way more passive to ever worry about anything, no matter how dark the environments are.The AI in the remake has been dumbed down so hard, n,ot a single necromorph fake their death or anything like that anymore (?) Combat was more vicious in the original by far
I'm replaying Dead Space 2 after all these years and its just so utterly different (in a good way) in that regard alone it just kinda boggles my mind

I've come across plenty of necromorphs pretending to be dead? Maybe it's a difficult thing. I'm playing on hard.
Definitely, but i find that it doesnt make enough of a noticeable difference compared to the performance gains i get with dlss to justify using it
I've done a comparison between TAA and dlss quality at 4k and the clear winner is TAA for image quality.
Yes, they released the patch a couple of days ago. Now looks better in perfomance mode, image is sharper and cleaner. In fact, I think it looks awesome for a 60fps performance mode. Callisto Protocol, for examples, looks amazing in RT mode but performace was disappointing, here performance looks great.Did the graphics get updated on Xbox? Haven’t played since Wednesday night and looks way better now… at least I think it does?

Now you have tons of ammunition
Restart? Load an older save?Yo I'm at chapter 3 the centrifuge decontamination and the decontamination is in process but enemies aren't spawning and door not opening. HELP.
Did you check out the shooting range yet?So I just got tothe USM Valor and my god those enemies that are infected with stasis modules that run at you are FUCKING NIGHTMARE FUEL.
I played on Hard, and thought it was a good balance. A few times I ran out of ammo mid-fight, even though I only carried a Plasma Cutter (so other ammo types wouldn't spawn) and i still ran out and had to improvise a few times.I think a lot of that has to do with them making game appeal to wider audience in order to sell. Sure you're not picking up the rigs for the master override sidequest to get master clearance for master doors and chests?I’m pretty sure I have a glitch preventing me from seeing the other rigs I’ve found. Nothing shows up in my storage except for the original rig.
Can’t find anyone else with this glitch.
I’ve been playing that on my Steam Deck. It’s crazy how much faster progression feels and maybe that’s due to how many resources they offer to the player. It feels great revisiting this series. I feel like a tourist with this remake. Some of these places feel much larger than they did in 2008.Whelp, here I go again.
I only saw 1 rig in my inventory and I’ve bought two upgrades. Level 2 and level 3.I’m pretty sure I have a glitch preventing me from seeing the other rigs I’ve found. Nothing shows up in my storage except for the original rig.

I try to stasis limbs I cut off to finish off enemies whenever I can. I think if you want more ammo for certain weapons, it helps to put weapons you dont want ammo for in storage so that ammo type for that weapon does not drop. Not sure who was that told me that by chapter 7 i would have had ammo problems because i'm at chapter 10 and still having hundreds of ammos...
Do you people even explore or stomp enemies to get ammo?
The force field shotgun that strip the skin from enemies show how good the gore is in this game.
Emh... I'm NOT having ammo problems at all, maybe i wasn't clear.I try to stasis limbs I cut off to finish off enemies whenever I can. I think if you want more ammo for certain weapons, it helps to put weapons you dont want ammo for in storage so that ammo type for that weapon does not drop.
You right read that wrong and no ammo shortages ever on hard mode, I always seem to have just enough for all the weapons I used. Barely ever used the melee or stomp for enemies, just for crates or dead necromorphs for drops.Emh... I'm NOT having ammo problems at all, maybe i wasn't clear.
And i have all my weapons on the inventory all the time because i like to switch.
I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m doing. Great call.Sure you're not picking up the rigs for the master override sidequest to get master clearance for master doors and chests?

Don't know if this helps, but if you press "Y" on an Xbox controller while on your default inventory screen, it'll show you your side quest/optional inventoryI’m pretty sure I have a glitch preventing me from seeing the other rigs I’ve found. I don't remember ammo problems in the og though. Its the same experience as old school RE imo. First time you learn the game, get spooked here and there, admire the gore and what not, and get the hang of the systems.I think a lot of that has to do with them making game appeal to wider audience in order to sell. God willing, best remake of 2023 will be Silent Hill 2….Finished the game on hard mode and gotta say amazing game glad I bought on release. Happy with all the changes that were made, was honestly worried when they said this Isaac would be more talkative and not a silent protagonist but this new Isaac wore me down and became a fan. Silent or not silent, Isaac Clark is a certified bad ass.
Can't wait to see how this stacks up against RE4 for best remake of the year.
I only used telekinesis for the first 2-3 chapters, then just used guns and the occasional red barrels.Yeah, if you don't rely solely on guns and use Kinesis a lot, you could have hundreds of ammo by the time you hit the final chapter. The gameplay is open enough to where you can be intelligent about disposing of enemies through various means.
Some people I've been seeing running out of ammo also forget to aim specifically for limbs. Imagine dumping 2x12 clips into a single necro because you forgot the number 1 rule.
Been playing with plasma cutter, but I have every upgrade you can find in storage. Think I'll rock the line gun in my 2nd impossible playthrough. This should seal the deal for all 47 achievements, after. Just need to upgrade every gun, and find every gun/buy the last upgrades when they appear in the store.I only used telekinesis for the first 2-3 chapters, then just used guns and the occasional red barrels.
Using the reaper a lot save a lot of ammo because if you are good you can kill 2-3 enemies with a single blade.
You do 800 points of damagei with a fully upgraded line gun and the 2 specials are about making the secondary fire bigger to kill more enemies with one blow, it is pretty strong yeah.Been playing with plasma cutter, but I have every upgrade you can find in storage. In the original, the Line Gun was the fucking king. Fully upgraded, even on the hardest difficulty, you can shred groups with a single pull of the trigger, or blow everything the fuck up, to kingdom come with the secondary fire. You could lay some timed, strategic explosions down, for some serious butchery.
My only question is whether or not it is still the king of the heap?
