What's the glitch?

I played it to completion recently without any game breaking bugs.
The glitch was that the undead become headless and you cannot complete the mission.

People report that on the original version, on 360, if you remove the updates you can play without the glitch.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Thanks for sharing, I can't say I've ever seen this myself.

But that's the nature of open world games, shit can break in spectacular fashion.

Did you play on 360, one s/x, or series?

I've played it on 360 and PS3 back when it came out and more recently Series X. On PS3 I only played RDR, not Undead Nightmare, but on 360 and SX I've played both. Maybe I saw this bug on 360, it's been a decade so I can't recall.

But I played through last year on SX and did not encounter a bug like this.

No it won’t! It’s gonna be 720p for PS4/Pro/5. They said they are not planning patches for pro and 5.

Incorrect, RDR literally has PS4 Pro enhanced label on PS Store and the trailer and screenshots are 4K for Playstation. Please don't spread misinformation.

Buddy , let's be clear on one thing : it's clear as day now why MS pushed for the BC program and it's not because Papa Phil loves or respects "gamers" or because MS "understands the value of maintaining multi-generational game access, much like PC libraries on Steam" - the sheer incompetence, studio mismanagement, zero exclusive releases and utter PR bullshit they've been doing for the past 3+ years is the proof that the BC program was there mainly for + points/gamer cookie points/goodwill creation since retrospectively, that's the only thing they had going on.
Yeah, things are.gonna change with the savior of gaming Starfield but...look at how "friendly" and "respectful" they've been lately with the gold to GPU conversion rates, GPU trials from 30 to 15 days, GPU price hike etc etc.
LIke all companies out there, they just want your/our money, there's no sense of "debt" nor pride nor respect towards the average consumer, the sooner some.of the fanboys understand that, the less miserable some.of the forums like this will be.

Jesus Christ, some of you will believe anything the PR machine will throw at you and it's just sad, how gullible can some people be I'll never understand...

PS : Sony is being typically tone-deaf about BC, guess what though, they're also shitty, I suppose they like.making.- wait for it - money by selling remasters.
Shitty companies do shitty things, the only thing one has to do is not fall victim to the PR machine or corporate BS.
They also had BC for OG Xbox in the 360, what PR were they trying to get by making OG Xbox games backwards compatible with the 360? They put so much resources into bringing back 700+ games from OG Xbox and Xbox 360 with an entire team dedicated to testing them and you brush it off as PR. If this was only for PR, you would be rebuying all the games on the new system. Its all last minute PR, including Microsoft fixing servers for older Call of Duty, upragading the backwards compatible 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII with PS3 textures and 4K remaster for hundreds of old games.

You're right man, they did it because they care about you.

PS: While Xone/Xseries BC is good (to the point some games could be considered actual remasters), the x360 one was absolutely abysmal, don't know why you're presenting it as a pro, did you actually gave it a try ? 90%+ of the games had problems ,in fact, it was so bad and limited it might as well have not existed.

People are upset about this, but it really seems to me like it's just to take Nintendo players' money. It isn't for enthusiasts, the PS4 port is probably just so easy it was minimal investment, hence no real enhancements. .

because you are trying to say that they only did BC because of the negative response to Xbox One reveal. when its something they did for Xbox 360 anyway. It was what could be possible at that time.

no one is saying they are a charity. they are a business, everyone is.

You're right man, they did it because of internet points. An entire team of engineers funded to testing old games for some internet clout.

Honestly, I don't really get all the hate for this. I mean sure, no online and $50. OK, yeah. But this just HAS to be a massive upgrade for Playstation owners. The PS3 version is 640p and has a wildly floating framerate. Making it for PS4 gives access to a larger user base since it also can be played on PS5. The framerate will (should) be a locked 30fps, the AA will be better and the resolution will be.....well....I assume 1080p for base PS4, and 4K for Pro and PS5. Some have said 720p, but even that would be better than what we have on PS3 currently.

I don't have any XBOX consoles, so it's pretty much a locked purchase for me. The only real question at this point is whether it will be a buggy/glitchy mess or not.

Gtav online really was the end of rockstar as we knew it wasn’t it…
Hot take: I think RDR 1 is the problem because the entire design was made by Rockstar North and some guys from NY and Toronto while San Diego was the workforce and technology, with the acclaimed sucess they might have concluded that other non 95 metascore IPs were redundant and these top guys would make all studios subservient branches for North, that's why we don't have Midnight Club, Bully, Max Payne and Manhunt anymore and a lot of the key staff for these projects left the company over the years.

Getting old physical versions still makes sense if you want that cool map and manual. GTA Trilogy and V E&E had nothing except disc inside the case.

It looks so huge and then they just integrated the upper half into RDR:2 (albeit nearly empty).
And what a great game it is, to this day. I remember riding down the hill from Hennigan´s Stead to Armadilllo when the sun started to come out and for the first time you see the scenery in full bloom.

Used physical content is great for BC in this case, cause there won't be any wear and tear on the disc, the console will download a formatted game and you just need the disc to look pretty in the drive.

I snagged GTA IV for just $2 a few months back and to my luck, it was a complete copy with the manual and all (picked up Episodes from Liberty City separately for like $6 later).

Do we know anything about the company that's touching this up. Are they new kids on the street?

Double Eleven was founded by Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar on 23 December 2009.[1][2][3] Both had previously worked as lead programmers for Rockstar Leeds, where Hutchinson had been involved with the iOS versions of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and Beaterator, while Shepcar had contributed to multiple Grand Theft Auto games.

Developed along with Rockstar San Diego which did the original RDR and RDR2.

Geez, that's a great find! I envy you Americans for having such a robust second hand market for console games. Here in my little European country the selection of games is quite limited and consists mostly in popular titles for PS3/PS4/PS5, Xbox One and Switch.. 😔

Where is that?
Romania. Here consoles have gained popularity rather recently with the launch of the Xbox 360 and I guess the PS3 too once the cheaper Slim version launched. However, most of people gaming on consoles were doing so on hacked/modded PS3 and 360s so there's a rather limited availability of 360 and PS3 games on the used market due to this. However, I do see some sellers here and there importing cheap copies of PS3/360 games from the UK, Germany or France just to sell them here at a markup lol.

Anyway, only later in that console gen (and even more so when the PS4 and Xbox One launched) things turned around and people started buying games instead of pirating them. Since then the console market in Romania has seen huge growth year over year (check the image I've linked) and we've even started receiving localized games from Sony and some other big publishers like Ubisoft. I'll have to add that PC gaming has been always huge here since the 90s and as a result the console market is quite smaller in comparison. Albeit anecdotally, I do think that console gaming is gaining popularity year by year with most of my irl friends who are in their 20s and 30s owning a console (either a PS4, PS5, Switch or sometimes an Xbox).

Fascinating stuff. Always interesting to learn about gaming culturally and economically in other countries.

Cheers! If you want to read more here's the full report on the current (as of 2020) state of the gaming market in RO: https://rgda.ro/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/RGDA-Report-2020.pdf.

As a PlayStation and Switch games collector I do wish I had access to cheaper used titles like all the other big markets(US, UK, Japan) currently have, but since I'm not interested in retro games it doesn't hugely impact my collecting hobby lol. Most of the newly released games (PS4/PS5 and Switch) including lower print ones (e.g. niche JRPGs and Visual Novels) are available for purchase from local game shops and bigger retailers so I'm rather content in this regard since around 70% of my collection consists in new games. And if it's something I'm really interested in getting that's not available locally I do try to import it either through Play Asia, Video Game Plus (VGP), or Amazon JP.

My question is: what, if any improvements (graphics, performance, bonus content, hell even audio) will the re-release have that would entice you to buy it over the original PS3 or 360 versions? Because $50/60 for a 12 year old game whose original release goes for less than $20 doesn't seem like the wisest investment if there's no quality-of-life enhancements to justify the high price point. If there's nothing added, it would make more sense to save your money, pull out the PS3, and play it that way. It would make far more sense for Rockstar to make this a "budget" release similar to the GTA Definitive Trilogy. This is just what I think though, and I don't expect everybody to agree.

Sorry (but not sorry) bros, still a day freaking 1 from me. This game is legendary and I feel it’s better than part 2. A remake would have messed with the original vision and physics I absolutely love about this (and Gta4).
Same, one of my favourite games ever. Still better than 99% of all the games that have been released since 🤷‍♂️

PS4 physical let's go!
