I'm really confused with these latest developments. Can someone tell me what's going on?

Microsoft wasn't supposed to touch on this until the spring and it was to be a couple of games.

Where's this stuff coming about "meltdowns"? I wouldn't think Starfield would warrant a meltdown.

Unless we're talking about booting up my PlayStation in the near future and seeing Master Chief Collection??
I would also like to know. If its what I think, I'd be happy going back to one console being able to play all my games from one box in two ecosystems.

There will be some kind of “Best on Xbox” branding thing I’m sure which will probably placate the fanboys to some extent. And if that doesn’t work there’s always the old diversions of new controller colours and MS reward points.

It will be limited to back catalogue titles for now, but the Blade announcement without platforms is a big hint at where we’re heading.

Even base PS5 runs games at 60FPS, or did you mean 120FPS?
Im talking about games which run at 30 FPS because the lack of power in the CPU, if the CPU of the PRO is still the same as the PS5 as rumored it won't run these type of games even on the PRO.

I do not understand some of the talk that PS5/PS5 Pro will now be the best place to play Xbox games? I mean, the Series X is still a thing. It is coming across like a lot of butthurt.

Also, some of you better go back and scrub your post history. 😜

Eh. CPU isn't that demanding for Starfield. My Ryzen 3600 can run it at 60fps a lot of the time so the PS5 Pro CPU should be able to. My RTX 3060 however got hammered trying to run it even on lowest settings. Sub 1080p to get 60 lol. (Near launch, no idea if performance has improved much on Nvidia GPUs since)

Ain't no way I'll see Master Chief Collection on my PlayStation, is it?? Surely they won't go that far.

Seeing an icon for that(say Chiefs helmet) on my PS UI would be such a paradigm shift that I don't think we could understand the magnitude of that.

Are we looking at a magnitude shift akin to how Sega went third party here or more subtle?

Something just dawned on me. What if the reason Microsoft has not yet made any public comments is because they are waiting for all the December "return policy" periods to end? If they announced all the new plans in January, they would have a FLOOD of people returning the Series X after they bought it at fire sale prices. If I were MSFT, that is what I would do, I would wait until the longest possible return policy ends and THEN spill the beans.

A ryzen 3600 it's probably miles better than the ones in Consoles they are very nerfed versions of the ones encountered in Desktop.

I think they still support the Xbox with exclusives, but others will be for other consoles.
I think Xbox will just become a platform like the Apple or Android store, but with their own content and the Game Pass subscription.

Initially will be getting their games on all consoles, but the main focus will be PC. The PC market has been outpacing consoles for a long time now, Playstation and Switch sales demonstrate a clear ceiling that will probably get lower and lower over the next decade - those two will fight that battle out and Nintendo won't be losing.

Having other companies like ASUS or Samsung license the Xbox brand for a console or handheld is probably an option, but I don't really see MS hardware going away, especially with Game Pass around and generating over $2bn+ a year.

In any case, give them a few years and they will probably be generating more than every other publisher combined.

Imagine Tom and co are stringing everyone along and tomorrow they announce some ABK games being added to gamepass.

So the same should apply to Starfield then. Drop your prediction. When is it showing up? Here is mine. They're never bringing that shit to Playstation since it's an evergreen title and entices customers to consider their console.
Not even 24 hours, this is like the biggest L I’ve ever seen. On a Sunday to boot.

Playing Halo MCC with adaptive triggers and haptics would be great. But I cant see everything getting ported at once, it'll take time.

I'll bet my account vs yours. There is no chance of GamePass coming to PS5.

And again, what does controlling the message do to sell xbox units today. You're assuming they'll eventually deny the rumors, because that is the only thing that would slow the stem of concern from the xbox community over the future of xbox. Commenting on it at all other than to say it isn't true hastens the end of xbox.

How does them saying they're releasing games multiplatform control the message today that not commenting on it doesn't?

I thought Sony's stance on Game Pass was well-known at this point. Agreed on why MS may be delaying an announcement of games on other platforms too. It behooves them to wait as long as possible, really.

If you think Starfield is going to get praised now that it comes on PS, you had another thing coming. Bethesda was sold for a reason, they were getting worse as a developer. Starfield was their chance at redemption and they blew it. It is genuinely a worse game than what they used to make before. If it was launched day and date on PS then there would have been more people sucked into buying it sight unseen. But now that its flaws are known there will only be some people who actually like the game warts and all, who would pay for it now.
