I was wondering why people was saying the 3D effect is strong until I found 3D setting in the options. Anyway I really hope more 3rd parties push the 3DS like Capcom does.

I was loving the demo until I paused for a bit and was kicked to the title screen. That's how they'll get me to hit the 30 play limit, lol

Title screen does not, but quitting the game gets you to the play limit.

No that's not how they'll do it, considering that as long as you don't exit the demo, you can play it indefinitely.

Also just close your 3DS when you pause your game for a while, it won't go back to title screen that way :)

Game looks really nice. The super 3D effect is impressive. Random question: is the shadow technique the same one as Silent Hill Shattered Memories? that's what it reminded me of.
Looks like a vanilla masked (for the light-spot effect) projected 2d shadow to me. Nothing fancy but gets the job done just fine.

i just stopped by to say, hell mode is awesome, and to make sure that this game did infact still exist given people completely ignoring it's existance in the RE6 thread.

that is all.

Demo exceeded my expectations. I've been in the mood for a new dark Japanese adventure game for a little while now and this looks like it could at least tickle that itch (also waiting for the iOS version of Corpse Party).

Damn, I wish I had my 3DS on me............ I just hope the whole chapter thing doesn't throw me off too much. I like the old re style with puzzles and crap, not the whole action RE thing going on now.

Oh wow, this demo is actually pretty good. Controls feels smooth and the graphics are phenomenal for the 3DS. Easily the best graphics I've seen on it so far.

I really hope this game is better than the 6/10s it's been getting..

It's the same old demo but it's still good. I hope scanning won't be annoying. Need to try Hell next.

Me, too! I think this game will hit the spot for me, especially since I recently had a blast watching an AMY LP of all things...

I wanted to get Corpse Party and Fatal Frame but decided I should just wait for Revelations.

Damn, hell mode is fucking hell.

The first time I was killed in the first room lol. I fucking hate the big claws regenrator. fuck him.
The next time I arrived to the fog room with little ammo. Got the machine gun. Got the scanner. Went to the fog room again...
HOLY CRAP 4 regenarators at the same time? And one is the big claws one?
i could kill two of them but the other two fucked me in the ass. Fuck them.

Didn't it only get one 6/10 so far from Edge?

I like how you ignore the multiple >9 scores it's been getting and focus on the ONE 6/10 score

Oh, lol. I was thinking it got another 6/10 that I missed.

Saints Row got a 6 too from Edge and the game is great and praised around here. People just need to stop trying to validate their purchases based on numbers and try to read the reviews for once or better, try the game.

Oh, I could have sworn it had gotten at least two 6s. Good news that it hasn't then! I haven't really been keeping on top of this game tbh lol.

Edge and GamesTM both gave it a 6/10.

Just managed to get on Wi-Fi at work, so I'm downloading this sucker as I type.

Game looks great. Day 1 preordered.

But... Holy cross-talk. Even on "normal". I'm not sensitive to 3d really whatsoever but this was the worst cross-talk I've ever experienced.

Wait you guys go for headshots?

That's insanely difficult due to the walking animation. I just aim at the chest or knife while walking backwards when I have the chance. And mind, I'm a pretty good shot in RE4/5 and Mercs

Cause it's not a shooter.

RE6 says otherwise hahahahhahaha

:(

Wow I was very impressed with the demo! I don't really play RE games, and I died 3 times on normal before I beat it. Running out of ammo made me run for my life and got my adrenaline high!

You know a demo is good when you end up cursing out the developer for making it too short, which I did.

I may actually get this game now, where I wasn't really planning on it before.

DO YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS NINTENDO WHEN YOU GET WITH THE TIMES?

I didnt like
-not being able to run
-having to stand still and shoot at enemies just a few feet away in closed quarters
-having raspberry smeared on the screen until I found a herb

Looks great though

This game would be so good if the 3DS wasn't so uncomfortable after 15-20 minutes of use. Looks amazing though.

You can move while shooting. And running is via analog control now, instead of holding a run button like past games.

BLOODY SCREEN SO REAL doesn't annoy me nearly as much as it seems it does everyone else on the internet, but I agree that it doesn't suit RE. At least health doesn't regenerate.

lol I was wondering why there wasn't much ammo, then I saw people talking about a scanner here so I looked around and noticed a door that I totally didn't think was a door. with the scanner you get like three times the supplies.

does scanning enemies to 100% make it easier to kill them like in Bioshock?

How do I do this?
she doesnt do anything when I press Y and when I hold R she wont move

If you're using the Type A controls, hold L to strafe. If you're using Type C or CCPro it works like regular third person shooters.

There's a play guide manual in your inventory and the option menus, you should check that out.

Noup, filling the bar to 100% will give you a herb, and scanning living enemies will give you more % than dead ones.

Alright... as much as I try, I can't get the 3D to be perfect. I've tried dozens of positions and distances. I always see a little bit of a double image. Had no problem with 3D Land or Pushmo. Any tips?

EDIT: Well it sort of works... when it I hold it at full arms length(and I have long arms) lol.

turn down the brightness.

high contrast stuff shows crosstalk on the 3DS. 3D Land and pushmo avoid doing that bright stuff against dark stuff look, but Revelations can't really avoid such things given the look it's going for. lowering the brightness is the only way you can minimise it.

i know that's less than ideal, but that's really the only thing you can do.

I have the same issue too. The cross-talk is unbearable. Makes me turn off the 3d

Huh, didn't know that. I'll try that because I also couldn't get the image to look right at all, and when I got it to a decent point it was far worse than OoT has been where a slight movement makes it double up again. Even if I get it to work I might just play with it off, the AA is nice.

A little more time with the demo and playing it on hard has done wonders for my feelings about the game.

The run speed is slower is because they wanted to incorporate the dodge button for juking. Makes the game less about learning enemy placements and more about baiting strikes and timed button presses. Raises the tension since a failed dodge can really mess you up. The enemy placements worked much better and I actually jumped when an enemy grabbed me from behind. He must have followed me through a door or the game spawned him just to be a jerk. The elevator was great since I was low on health and and was just running past stuff to get to the elevator just to get munched on. Took me a couple of tries but I had plenty of extra ammo when I did. The character designs, goofy action, and irritating button placement will continue to annoy but I think the game has some real potential now. I just hope the game isn't littered with checkpoints. Hopefully Hell mode has none since everything is in episodes now.

I also like that you can get knocked down and fire from the ground.

Not my type of game but the demo impressed me in graphics and 3D. Hopefully other Capcom 3DS games follow suit. Only issue I had was slight ghosting with 3D on max. My eyes are usually fine with max 3D too.

Liked the demo a lot. Still getting used to the controls. Gyro sounds good in theory(if you decide to play without 3D), but turning is really weird this way.

I knew I wasn't going crazy, lol. Not that reviews scores matter of course, I just enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

I like the balance of supplies in hell mode. Just enough to get by if you hunt for them and you're careful with your ammo. Gyro controls are good for aiming but annoying for scanning. Too much ghosting in 3d for me, think I'll be playing this with it off.

has anyone figured out how to dodge? I tried knifing a spiky enemy on hell, and Jill randomly dodged to the left or right. I tried again on another enemy, flicking and double tapping and whatever to replicate it, but nothing happened.

one thing I found is that the knife is really weak. My strategy to kill the first enemy unharmed is to use the grenade and shoot it in the face. Grenade + 1 shot kills it, but grenade + knife takes a thousand stabs.

ha, Hell mode is actually pretty easy once I found out about the scanner. I ended with two herbs, like 130 machine gun ammo, full pistol clip, several shotgun shells. Just gotta exploit the door invincibility.

I'm actually liking this quite a bit. First impression was so-so but it's good fun. Wish it had a run button and dodging was easier to figure out, though. Alan Wake had a really nice dodge system.
