Trance and techno is harder for me, but house is immediately obvious. It has all of those annoying sounds like sirens and shit and just isnt as melodic as trance. I'm sure there are better explanations

Too many different genres under the title trance, techno is mostly the same though. House is like trance in that it has a few different styles under it. I find the general electro-y/house stuff that tiesto plays on club life is pretty good. Once you get into dirty dutch like afrojack then thats just the crappest stuff ive ever heard. Uplifting and vocal trance definitely my favourites

I'm still pretty noob, but its just basic mixing. Mostly do it so my gf has new music to listen to in the car. Also a nice easy gift for various occasions haha. Seems like we have the same taste in electronica. Add Avicii style progressive house to your list and you have my tastes. You aren't in socal are you? I think Australia if i remember right?
