Imperial Shuttle ordered. $220 just seems like too good a price to pass up.
Some sort of bird. Basically picked up the long red piece and built it from there without any planning or corrections and came up with this.
Yes, Amazon's price is very good. I believe its 259.99 in the LEGO store.
I just finished building the Mini-Modular set the other day (which I loved!), and I made it a little project to build the pet shop for myself (since it wasn't included). I eventually got stuck and found out that someone posted a render of a mini Pet Shop just a few days ago!

My problem is that the pet shop is actually 2 separate buildings on 4x8 bases.
Does anyone know how the builder managed to evenly space the windows in that model?
I've been messing around with anything I can think of, but I still haven't figured it out!
I think you grabbed the wrong link, I'm seeing a tank.
I think it's three inward-facing "headlight bricks" stacked with a plate on top, placed sideways and attached on the inside. I'm not sure how they'd be attached though. My problem is that the pet shop is actually 2 separate buildings on 4x8 bases.

Yeah, I just can't figure out how he managed to space them apart so well.
I think it's just the normal spacing. The left end appears to have a smaller gap than the right end -- the right end is the stud end with the flat plate on top:
Quatro got phased out about 5 years ago.
Awww, I guess too Lego-looking for children.
Do people use Duplo bricks along with the "regular" Lego bricks when building stuff?

My UCS SD arrived. Assemble the fleet!
It has been that price for a while. Hopefully it is still that price when my tax refund is deposited later this week. Can't wait to order that.
Man, the regular Star Destroyer is so sexy.
I am still on the fence about the SSD though. I keep flip flopping between an iPad 3 or the SSD. So hard to decide.
You know what some super crazy fan needs to do? Make an SSD MOC that is to scale with the UCS Star Destroyer. That thing would be the size of a house.
Well, the Star Destoyer is about 1:1600 scale (37" long for simple math is 1 meter, in actuality is .94 meter), and Star Destroyers are 1600 meters long.
The Executor, which is the basis for the LEGO SSD is 19,000 meters long, so a scale lego model would need to be about 12m long, or about 40 feet.
That would be a far more noble project that a prequel star destroyer.

I don't know, that 2.4m Venator was pretty damn impressive to see in person.
Depends, because SSD will be around for a while since its a new release. Keep that in mind when deciding on huge sets!
Not a huge fan of Market street or the green grocer (the bay windows just look too big to me). which is useful as I can put them out of my mind and save myself a fortune
Really? The green grocer? it's one of my favourites, it's probably a toss up between the grand emporium and the green grocer as my favourite modular
Hey I'm not the one who posted a pic of a UCS Star Destroyer!Die, Whitta. Die. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
They really should pay me Will and Norm, goodness knows how many sets we've helped sell...Gary's a pusher.... He's being paid by the LEGO corp....

On a different note, I used some of the support beams from my old Futuron Monorail set as a stand for the new X-Wing. Now it is displayed with S-Foils in attack positions.

I'm hesitant to display the X-Wing in attack position as it seems like that would be additional stress on the rubber bands.
Yeah, Green Grocer's great. While the first two are nice in their own right, GG really adds that extra pop of detail. It's my favorite of the OOP modulars.
Always intrigued to see what the next modular will be. Already excited for 2013's set! I'd love to see an antique shop. Or a quaint bookstore/coffee shop.
Told you they worked brilliantly.

I thought about this, but then I figure rubber bands are something I can always replace myself with a trip to the hardware store. If they're going to decompose and break like other LEGO rubber bands, it's going to happen either way. There's still stress on them even with the wings folded down.
I would like a big brick school.
Let me know if you figure out how that chunk is attached to the main building... that part has me completely stumped. The inner studs all end up at really weird offsets.Wow, I never would have figured that out, thank you!
Maybe now I'll be able to finish my own build/reverse engineer that Flickr guy's build.
I think first two weeks of March is double VIP. Get ready!Anyone know how often the LEGO store does double VIP points? I was thinking of getting the SSD around that time but since it's so new I might go for the Imperial Shuttle instead as I don't want it to go OOP.
