wonder why CVX didn't point out what an absolute mess of an article (read: opinion piece) it is? Hmmm...

Unnamed official says japanese big publisher cancelled all their games and moved them to 3DS!

Pondering on 4m vs 500k sales!

The article is utter dogshit - start to finish.

He didn't write the tweet, he retweeted some guy who tweeted the article with that description.

apologies to CVX for all the slander up in my posts! <3 CVX <3

Phew, glad that article was utter bull.

it's not utter bull, it's just an opinion piece by a "Games journalist" - nothing about the observations are beyond what people would observe around GAF. There's an unattributed quote to a "big publisher representative" then a lot of speculative "well, leading publishers can see how attractive the 3DS is and how unattractive the Vita is"

it's a fluff piece - the opinion isn't particularly invalid in that it's just dogshit level analysis and attempts to put a publisher spin on it on the slenderest of sources.

Why is this even being discussed in the Western launch thread? Post a new thread about it if you think it's worthy of discussion. Otherwise you just look like a troll.

So I played some of the MJ game.

It's not garbage. In fact, I like it. A lot. I think the use of the touch for dance moves works really well. Even the multi-touch moves work well. The music is MJ, so it's excellent (I'm a fan). I seldom like touch-based games, but I'm really enjoying this.

I don't know how much depth there is though.

This game was actually a very low priority purchase for me because I did like the previews (and now reviews) for it.
Glad to hear.

I think feitclub tweeted it, lol

feitclub gave me flu at TGS - #Shakefist - and now this?! #tipsoverinternet

if the levels were streamlined down into smaller packages and with a few changes, it really could have been a surprise hit. I'm not a massive jackson fan either.

My MJ trophies have bubbles around them, like the trophies gained in PS+ trials. Also, the trophy app didn't automatically sync upon startup. It usually does when detecting a new game and/or trophies. Don't think these count.

Whelp, I'll get to try it tomorrow. Let's see if it's good enough to stay in my precious 32Gb.

Check Near or whatever to see if it tells you to buy the game

ok so umvc3 is also amazing. Less slowdown than the ps3 version :p and the image quality on the characters is amazing. It took 10 minutes to get used to doing cheap ass ghost rider combos and even calling an assist wasn't bad. THIS DPAD....YES!

Does anyone know how to get DLC stuff registered on the vita version? I need some shuma.

Rayman is also super clean looking, but the lack of even local MP has me holding off for now.

Yeah, and he was talking about discounts for digital games.
Maybe I'm missing something.

My bad, I didn't see the post before his that was after mine when we were talking about sales at launch. I thought he was referring to the topic we were discussing. Hard to tell since he didn't directly quote who he was responding to.

Have you purchased the DLC on the same profile for your PS3 version? If you have and it's not showing up as accessible in the Vita title, it's probably something that hasn't been enabled yet. (Which wouldn't surprise me given that Vita-only owners have no means of purchasing the DLC themselves through the system.)

I don't care about trophies so whatever.

I'm going to play this some more, but if this really was just a demo and not the full game (like if it was a PS+ trial or something), I may actually buy the game.

I have to admit, Billie Jean as the tutorial and then scrolling through the song list totally got me. Gameplay feels good too.

My walmart had Fifa in the case.. and the cradle and a couple of carrying cases.. but no trace of consoles, uncharted, hotshots golf or memory cards.

So much doom and gloom - Sony will not let Vita die. I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure last year the posts were the same about the 3DS.

MJ game is ok, but with very little modes, customization, and 15 songs tracklist, this should've been 9.99$ "Starter Pack" on PSN.

yea when you first get past the main menu and ask to check for DLC it shows all the stuff you have unlocked, like if you did it the first time on the PS3 version. It says Shuma and Jill and saves, but then both appear as unknown. I remember hearing something about both titles sharing DLC which I thought was a good step in the right direction.

I don't know. $40 might be a bit high, but $10 would be an instant buy for me. Would feel like a steal I think. But I haven't played enough to say for sure.

Based on the feature set, I think like $20 - $30 would be fair.

I've paid more money for rhythm games with less content though. So yeah...
Being a MJ fan probably plays a huge part in it though.

Also, these types of games are about replaying over and over again on harder difficulties. So 15 songs isn't really a particularly low amount.

I don't think Lumines sports a much bigger tracklist.

Don't see anything that indicates whether it's a demo or not. It has a link to it's Store page but so does WipEout, and I've had that for a while.

My guess is that the demo was incorrectly tagged as a full-game trial, but without an OS-level time limit (maybe the Vita doesn't support that functionality?).

Fired up blazblue and the graphic quality is really amazing.

And I can't stress how much better the dpad is. It clicks, it's one exposed piece of plastic (not like the awful segmented dual shock dpad) and its really solid for fighting games.

that is music to my ears. Most probably gonna end up buying almost all the good fighters for Vita personally

Lumines has about 40 songs, IIRC.

They seem like they unlocked for me.

The PSN+ versions with the bubbles don't actually make your trophy total go up though like they do in this picture.

But as people said, either way if its a free game without trophies or just a super long trial, it's worth the download anyway.

If I do enjoy it and unlock a bunch of trophies but need the retail to actually unlock them i'll just gamefly it.

45 is quite a bit more than 15.

What will be the first game all FEB gamers play tomorrow / later today?

FIFA. Seems like the best graphics showcase of the games I have. Stardust second. Escape plan 3rd, Little Deviants 4th, MJ the Free Experience 5th.

If my gamefly games come in mix in Rayman, Shinobido and Virtual Tennis somewhere in the middle of that list.

Still no Escape Plan impressions, eh? We've all been distracted by the glitter of Michael's glove.

BenKuchera from PA said its great

"Wow, Escape Plan is using both the front and rear touch on the Vita in neat ways. Really having fun with it."
