Due to the number of PSN PSP games I own, I went 32. I know I'll regret it when someone drops the price on them, but it's really the best size option if you intend to buy Vita and PSP games from PSN, as well as grab a bunch of demos.

Their pricing structure is so. strategic. Any way you cut it you feel like an idiot for buying one. I guess at least the 32 GB makes you feel a little future proofed. 32 GB it is

I applied my screen protector a bit off-aligned, lol.

Eh...I guess I can just overlook it. I'd rather not lift it and go through the process again. :)

Quick question about re-mapping controls for PSP games. I know that one can re-map the controls to use the right stick (and other assorted options), but can any controls be re-mapped to Vita gyro capabilities?

Of course, you know I'm thinking of Locoroco...

This is the sexiest handheld evah.

The dpad is AWESOME! Doing strider stuff in UMvC3 without issue.

Please port 4 button fighters to this thing ASAP.

Agree 100%. Just spent an hour playing BlazBlue and it's one of the sexiest bits of videogamery that I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. My jaw was in my lap the whole time and my hands never hurt or started to cramp up. I'm really pleased with this thing for being able to do justice to fighting games on the go.

Tell me about it.. it's driving me nuts.

I bought 2 packs of the protectors. I wasted one by horribly misaligning it. The one on the front screen now is fine. I cut one to fit onto the back touch pad, after some adjustments it's also fitting well.

So, I have one left if I ever feel the need to switch, and a Hori face cover coming in the mail.

You can only remap the d-pad, face buttons, or analog nub of the PSP to the right stick of the Vita.

Well, I gotta say the Sony screen protector is great.

The application of it is pretty damn easy. And no hassle as far as having to wet it or anything. Simply dust off the screen, and then line it up and apply.

Part of the applicator has a template where you line up the buttons and right joystick, so it helps you align it nice and straight, which is a brilliant idea. The Sony screen protectors for PSP did NOT have this and I failed with both attempts and wasted $5.

I got it right with this one on the first try, no air bubbles, no dust stuck underneath. I'm a happy camper. And now I have a spare one (its a 2 pack) for down the road.

Haven't even started up the Vita yet....lol I'm going to charge it first rather than dive in.

It basically goes like this

You go to the sign up on Vita and get the 2 ID's you get when you are trying to register there. Like a SIM or CDIID or something stupid like that. I left that open and opened the browser on PC. I signed up and entered my info and bought a 15 dollar plan and when you're done, there should be an option in your account settings or plan settings to check on promotions. It will say that you have a promotion to redeem or something like that. You then check that and it applies it. What it means is that it's not active until you use the first 250mb of data and then it kicks in just incase you go too far. The SSD code will be in my email within the month

I followed ur steps, but where can I find the promotion redeem? Is it from vita settings? or from the connect to ATT bubble?

How would Target be as far as returns go in case I get a defective unit? Considering switching from amazon haha

Target is easy with returns. Just be aware that their electronics have a shorter return window than games and other items. Normal return is 90 days and electronic items are I think 45 days now. It just changed recently. Bit me in the ass too. Target's return policy is awesome because you pretty much have a 90 day price match window.

Man, I can't decide what the best deal is on the WiFi version after searching around. I'm taking a guess it's the Target bundle posted above with a $20 gift card? I plan on getting the games there anyway. Someone on CAG said the best deal is on a banned site they can't mention on there so now I'm curious as to what that is.

This thread moves too quickly to keep up on deals, lol.

Don't be afraid. We all dived in and just rocked it out immediately. It's better than any console in terms of many features.

Yeah I'm trying to do it on the Vita, but I'll just do it on pc now that you mention it. Thanks.

It crashed on me once, lol.

So far, this set up has not bee so fluid. I couldn't link my PSN account to the Vita because it needed a system update, but then there aren't any buttons that will let you update from the Vita during the initial startup.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me, but it's better now, thankfully.
*edited.

Finally joined in! I'm selling my iPad 2 to fund my Vita and a Kindle (my iPad 2 is becoming a glorified Kindle reader).

I went for the Amazon UK bundle, Wifi Vita, 8GB memory card and Lumines for £224.99. Good deal yeah? If Play had a Lumines bundle I would've grabbed it, sucks Amazon don't get the pre-order pack. I have Rayman on the PS3, no need to double dip on the Play bundle :(

Hope Lumines is awesome :)

The CAG banned site is lockerz.com where you earn points to use towards a discount off the products they sell. It's banned because CheapyD considers it a referral site and CAG wasn't getting any kickbacks from it.

Reading this thread last night when it was in the early 90's for page count, and some of the other old time gamers were talking about load times. Kinda took me back. So I picked mine up, played some Lumines at lunch and it hit me, I'm holding a goddamn console in my hands. Absolutely amazing. I didn't think this day could get any better. Until I got home and found my Ducky Shine on the front doorstep waiting for me. Best day ever? Best day EVAR.

I feel like the 4 gig card is already cramping me. I want a huge ass card, but not yet...As soon as the 32 gig goes on sale, I'm on it.

Got mine. No games but my copy of Gravity Daze should be here in a few days though. Demos should tide me over until then. :)

Screen is incredibly pretty.

I think it would be cool if sony allowed whatsapp for 3g vita, or viber. I think people would have a better value perception for their vitas. Oh and gtalk for wifi versions.

Anyone try escape plan yet? I haven't bought a vita but i thought it looked interesting.

Also, any unbiased opinions on the device that anyone can give to me? Still on the edge about picking one up.

I have never really been big on handhelds (well, the only handheld i ever really loved was the gameboy color when i was younger, i played and beat all the pokemon yellow / blue /red games), mainly due to the fact i prefer the cinematic quality, story driven console games more. I never cared for the psp, and i really never cared for the DS. I thought the 3DS was alright, but got rid of it the day the price drop was announced (was a little mad.).. The vita seems like it could be that one handheld that i really could enjoy... even though i honestly can't see myself using a handheld on the go, i don't want to carry around another device other than my phone.

Thanks for anyones input.

I'm having an issue setting the system up.

I get up to the step before you put in your PSN ID information, but then it stops me and says a System Update is required.

But how do I update the firmware if I can't even get to the main menu??

It doesn't look like you need a Vita then. A lot of us want PS3-like experience on the go (or simply not in front of the TV). Vita comes closest to accomplishing that. If you are fine with HD console, and phone takes care of your mobile gaming - don't get it, save the money for something else.

Decline to sign up with an existing account (click No), set up a guest pass, update the system, log in with your existing PSN account. It's a bug that was present during Japanese launch as well.

Sorry if this sounds really dumb but do i have to use MediaGo to download my Vita stuff of psn to my PC then use that Vita app to copy it from my PC to my vita? I would use my ps3 but the LAN internet it REALLY slow here and I cant connect my Vita to the wifi cause it is enterprise WPA

Depends, mostly sub-19.99$. No sign of huge sale yet, maybe next week.

Many are still at $39.99 which is pretty bad considering how old some of those games are. They've been slashing prices to $19.99 and lower lately though.

I think Koller said during the Vita livestream that they would be adding another few hundred or so PSP titles to PSN in the coming months though.

Sony needs to word this shit better. A lot of people are having this issue. Sony, WTF! Freaken amateurs!

Don't put in your PSN login info when it asks. Use a temporary login and let the system update. After the update you should now be able to login with your own PSN account.
