Anyone with a VITA got a MadCatz ArmorShell ?

Saw it at Gamestop today for $12.99 and was wondering about the built quality.

How long is NGS? I've never played any of these shits.

I honestly don't know. They're very, very tough and that makes them longer than they would be otherwise. Still, I'd say at the very least more than 12 hours on the easiest difficulty just for the campaign. And you'd still have the Ninja trials, dozens of challenges to test your combat skills. For an action game it's definitely on the longer side.

I'm betting many of the freezes are caused by 3G/wifi (failed)connections.

I had a minor 5 second freeze (and my only hiccup thus far) while it was going from some random 3G back to wifi. It's done this many times already but this one time, it hung for a few secs. I've had no HW lockups of any kind though. No stuck pixels and a perfect screen.

Do you Vita owners face freezes with your system often? I want o buy this machine like 6 month from now because i want them to fix all the kinks.

I've seen a fair number of people posting here saying they couldn't wake up their Vita after it went in stand by.
I haven't froze myself yet, but I've had the OS act weird on me (everything was moving really slow), which made me turn off the system to fix it.

Lots of love, quality of the hardware is amazing. A bit of "launch goggles" on like with every system. The games are pretty good for a system launch but will be looked back on as average. Still everyone thats bought one early seems to be happy with there purchase. We will see in 6 months if its just a honeymoon or if its a lasting feeling.

I don't think so. So many amazing games for launch, it is probably a first in history. I mean shit we got Lumines, Uncharted, Rayman, Golf. That is better than most handhelds had a year after release imo.

I wanted one ever since I saw that escape plan trailer at e3. That will probably be the first game I get. I hope it delivers.

Thanks for the opinions. I can't wait to pick one up and join you guys next week.

Yeah it's quite a long game. If your not used to this kind of game the campaign will take you around 15-20 hours I would of thought. This is taking into account the many deaths you will encounter and possibly tearing your hair out with some of the bosses lol.

If you have the skills I'd say around 10 hours.

I may have been one of those people. I still won't be totally sold on the OS until I use it for awhile and as of right now I'm still not a fan of the bubbles but the positive impressions floating around have given me some hope.
There's definitely something I would change such having folders and a seperate place for saves but so far the OS is really nice to use. It's way better than I expected it to be.
You may not be alone there. I bought 3 retail Vita plus 1 DD game (getting Hustle Kings free and SSD with promo). I bought 3 PSP and 4 PS1 games.
I bought 2 DD Vita games and got Uncharted for free but I will be trading in little deviants fairly soon, I have a ton of PSP and PS1 games I would love to add to the system though.

Does anyone know if Vita games are being sold in the UK yet, I thought that since it is Friday they might be treated as a new release. I wouldn't mid getting the games early so I don't have to go out to get them when my Vita arrives, lol.

Use tape to grab corner you want to lift

Awesome! Worked like a charm, and lined the screen protector up perfectly w/ the bottom, with a little overhead now at the top.

Way better than this:

The Skinomi had to constantly be wet w/ the adhesive, which I understand. But there's no way you can lay the shield on without getting adhesive into parts on the front you don't want to get that wet. Plus, it had a lot of bubbles. I'm not pro at putting screen protectors on, so it very well could have been operator error. But I found the official Sony ones to be a lot easier.

WiFi Vita. But I also get all Vita games I want and some I don't want for review, so that's pretty good I think.
Imagine a PS Vita with around 20 titles for $170. I can't say no to that.

Damn, that's awesome. I'd love to get all the games, but I know for a fact I'll mostly be playing only FIFA. Haha I myself am getting FIFA, Uncharted and Lumines or Rayman from the B2G1 Free from Target.

One other small change I would like with the OS (very minor), is that I'd like to be able to move the bubbles wherever I want. Right now, they're locked into the 3-4-3 spots.

In this review, the reviewer said:

There are some oddities in the OS, like the weirdness of having to tap twice to go into any game or app (once to open the thumbnail, another to actually launch it. Why? No idea.)

Doesn't the first tap mean you're opening the Live Area of said game/app? How is that not obvious? Sigh. Overall good review though, but I just hate it when people are misinformed.

[edit: haha, second comment on the article said exactly the same.]

Guess what I'll spent most of my time on after the initial review process? FIFA. We should just add each other to our friend lists, so we can play matches against each other. Write me a PM.

Hopefully that will come in a future update. Forgot to ask you mate what games did you get? Be interested to hear your thoughts again as your one of the only gaffers that has come off the honeymoon period now.

Just saw Giant Bomb's WipEout 2048 review. It's pretty disappointing to hear some of Jeff's complaints given that this is the only launch game I plan on buying (not because I wouldn't enjoy other ones but more because I'm trying to exercise some restraint) but our opinions often differ so hopefully I'll enjoy it more than he did.

I can't wait to play the shit out of lumines. The coverage seriously sold me on the vita. Also Fifa but I don't think I need another version of it...If NHL happened to make its way over...instant buy.

Alright gaf, i have $300-350 right now and i was wondering what the best deal was for that price. It has to include the vita, a memory card (Preferably 8 gig), one game and a case.

so, I used the little mobile connect ( or whatever its called) application on the Vita to sign up for 3g..
Am I screwed? It said nothing about a promo/free game/free month

Can someone point me to the website (I think it was for Sony's music service) where I can input the code and add funds to my account. I don't have PS3 with me, and i want to do it now, not when I get a Vita.

My opinion differs a lot from his. It's pretty damn good if not as good as HD/Fury minus the tracks which are coming for free to me. FREE=WIN.

Unit 13 demo on PSN next week

Awesome. Even more awesome if had co op enabled.

+1 on the NHL. Oh how I'd love a portable version. At the very least I'd like to be able to remote play the ps3 version.

If you don't need a 3g model, the wifi version at target with the $20 free gift card plus the rest (8GB card and a game) would be the best option in the US I think

Oh yes. NHL would be amazing on this.

Skate would be an awesome Vita game too.

I'm having a hard time considering lumines. The demo is fun and the music was cool.. but what makes it worth $40? I figured it would be the game my wife could get into and while showing her it she said "what's so special about it? It looks like Tetris. Is it expensive?"
And I kind of feel the same way...

Should we expect more pricing information from Europe prior to the Vita launch here? Have an order from Amazon for Everybody's Golf but would prefer the digital download version, but still haven't been able to get any prices for it!

Unit 13 demo info

The demo gives you access to one of the game’s Direct Action missions and includes all six operatives and online leaderboard support

I'm loving the gyro stuff with the Vita so far. Know why? It's responsive and accurate as hell. Total surprise.

It works perfect in HSG. Love the interactive feel of it in that one.

I just joined the club, got my Vita, Uncharted, Shinobido and Little Deviants. Anyone know if the PS3 version of Dungeon Hunters works on Vita? I already own it and don't want to pay the crackhead price for the retail version. Also, goddamn this thing is sleek!

VanWinkle's pics of the vita unit have just made the wait in the UK for me painful!
Thanks friend, thanks a bunch.
Seriously, sony have a winner with this and all we need to do now is watch them fuck it up.

What's Peacewalker going for on PSN right now? I just bought the hd collection on PS3 and the ability to bring that save with me might be worth it.

Makes me wonder how well the intu-aim feature on Golden Abyss is

It's good, but not terribly intuitive at a first glance. It wasn't really intuitive for me in the first place as it was sometimes counteracting my aim with the analog stick...but I didn't know about the gyro aiming at that point. Now, I just use the analog stick to get my aim near an enemy and use the gyro to easily fine tune my shot to their heads. Works wonders.

It works perfect in HSG. Love the interactive feel of it in that one.

Yeah I'm trying it out in HSG. Won't really use it much, but it's super fast and super cool.

This is great news. I'm certainly not sold on the game at this point (I think it looks pretty generic) but maybe this demo will change my mind. If nothing else I'm just happy to be able to experience some dual analog aiming on the Vita in a game other than Uncharted. I'm really curious to see how it will hold up compared to consoles.
