Man, I told myself I would be holding off in opening my vita accessories until release, but I just couldn't resist myself to get a feel for them.

The Vita carrying pouch (smaller than the travel pouch) is really nice, has a pocket for the Vita and on the other side of the divider has a small pouch and 3 slots for game cards. The case has a nice plush feel.

The TPU case feels like it has a nice rubber grip, and the fact that it makes the rear touch pad recessed means I will be able to find the boundaries without issue.

The Hori strap (comes with a leather strap and hook for your finger) seems decent enough, not sure if I will be wearing both at the same time but the option is there.

The 24 game card case does it's job. I have a 3ds variant case that looks almost identical, and these are the perfect solution to holding all of your game carts.


But in my anticipation, I fear I'm going to face disappointment. If the local exchange gets the vita on release date, I will be ecstatic. But if not, I will have to fall back on Amazon and will have to wait another week until I can dig in on the action . This is when I lament living overseas.

Anyone here have experience with the three I got?

Uncharted, Wipeout 2048 and Hot Shots Golf?? Are these good games or should I take them back!??

Hard to get a vibe for these as some sites say 7.0 which other say 8.5 for games which to mean is a big difference.

From reading reviews its pretty fascinating to see what the general measuring stick is, I've seen Vita games compared to console games (which typically result in lower scores) and seen them compared to other handheld games (which typically result in higher scores).

The only Vita game I own right now is Hot Shots. It's really damn good. Hopefully more people pick it up come next week.

So I pre-ordered Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus the other day on Amazon, and I went on today to check if it had shipped yet, and the estimated delivery date is the 27th. I have Prime and I have never not gotten a new game from them on release day. Has anyone had this happen to them? I am hoping it is just a mistake and it will still show up on the 22nd but if not I will cancel it and go out and pick it up somewhere.

All I know is that youtube doesn't work in terms of video playback. Putting a video on the device itself I have not tried.

I have both pre-ordered at Amazon and the dates have jumped all over the place. It currently says I will get them on the 24th, but Amazon is usually good about getting stuff out on time. If I can't find these games early I'm sticking with them.

So, I figured out that if you plug in the Vita to a computer, it will only charge if the system is off (not in sleep mode...off). Once it's on, it won't charge through USB plugged into computer.

Yeah, Philly Target on Monument Road is a wash. Only Dungeon Hunters is out, only three spots for Vita games, and when asked to check if they had more, was told that was all they had. Even if they have them, they're not putting em out until Wednesday, likely.

Stopped at Target bright and early. No games out and they said they won't be putting them out till tomorrow. Was told they had mostly everything except Rayman. I did ask about the preorder that includes the 4gb Card. The guy behind the counter told me he was going to set aside one for every preorder and that they had 16.

Now the Question is do I return my 16GB to Gamestop and buy a 32 from Lockerz for a couple bucks more.

So I recently got a bonus at my job and with my first baby and a promotion at work I have not been able to play Console/PC gaming like I'm used (trying to play Skyrim in random 20 minute slots of time was painful) and it has become clear that portable gaming is going to be my primary gaming for the foreseeable future.

So for weeks I've been deliberating between the 3DS and the Vita. So I finally had decided on the 3DS, I put on my Mario shirt, gathered some trade-in stuff and headed over to gamestop . . . . however once I got there I played them both and I had to go with the Vita.

This portable is going to be my primary gaming machine and I just felt like the Vita filled that role better.

So I came home empty-handed (except for a receipt for my Vita preorder) and would like to let VITA-Gaf know, I am one of you!

I am familiar with that stage in life. My son is 7 this year.

You'll most likely lose more freedom over the next 2 years, no movie outings, no violent TV shows, heavily fragmented free time, etc.

But it's fun in a twisted, warm, fuzzy way to watch your kid grow up. Have fun with Vita and yes, the kid will take it away from you too ! ^_^

I've made $9.99 my limit for buying PSP games on this device. Hopefully there will be some good price drops in time. Picked up Darkstalkers and Street Fighter 3 Alpha Max to use with the Vita D-Pad.

Edit: I shouldn't bother with bilinear filtering on 2D titles?

Does NGS+ have Release Date Delivery? If not, you'll get it a day or two after delivery.

I'm way behind in this thread, but regarding holding the vita so your fingers don't get all over the back touch pad:

so hold your hands like a gun (trigger finger out, lower three fingers curled in), curl your trigger finger along the side of the vita and rest the back of the vita on top of your curled middle finger. the grooves should more or less line up with the middle bone of the middle finger.

I find it more comfortable than with the fingers splayed across the back and way better than trying to hold it with your finger tips in the grooves.

Sorry if this was obvious, but quite a few people seemed to be having trouble holding it..

USB does not supply enough power for it to both charge and run at the same time. It's either one or the other (the official charger does both)

Yeah, I didn't see the lightning charge animation on mine either. It either takes more than an hour of games to bring the battery down or it's charging without the animation/while in sleep mode. I'll try draining the battery again while connected to the computer and see what happens.

E: Did you enable USB power supply in the settings? I think that's how you would get power from a USB.

Just hold it in your own comfortable way. I spread my fingers at the back when playing Escape Plan with back touch support. Works great. The control schemes should be designed with false positives in mind.

On another note, I can't unsee the Vita smilie in your photo. That groove and double dots at both ends of the unit sure is goofy.

I've always held my psp like that so no problem for me, then again I got small hands. Everybody has their own style to hold a controller. This reminds me of the DS3 holding gif.

]At Target right now and they did have HSG, Wipeout, UMvsC3, Uncharted available to buy now. They had signs for NG Sigma and FIFA but can't sell those until launch day.

The guy tried to ring up the sale and couldn't. He said it was probably because the deal won't start until Wednesday. He told me to call Tuesday morning and hell check to see if the deal will work then. :-/

I might goto a different Target just to see If they say something different. Also, I need printer ink and they are out of the one I need. Talk about fail. At least I didn't leave completely empty handed.

When I picked up my FEB at Best Buy last week, the clerk asked if I needed any games. I told him I was waiting for the Target sale to purchase any more games. He told me to come in during their sale and they would price match. No add needed.
