Tried it out in one of the vita vaults today for an hour

Initial impressions are good, sticks are infinitely better than the nub on the psp but not as good as on a dualshock 3
The screen is fantastic, very bright and clear.
Gravity Rush demo blew me away, so impressed with that game.
Virtua Tennis was the best looking game of the few I played, definitely getting that.
I kept touching the rear touchpad by accident in fifa and shooting from miles away,
Wipeout looks good but I agree with reviews that say the sense of speed is missing for some reason, maybe I was playing on a lower speed class or something.
Super Stardust another great game, well worth €10.

A few negatives:
Tried using the maps app and it took AGES to load, and that was using wifi!
Near app wasn't on the demo unit I had, wanted to see how that worked.
Browser was also pretty bad, why are sony so bad with internet speeds?

Photos and videos are not save files. Are you purposely just seeing only what you want to see? PS3 does have a backup solution to HDD.

They told me that they won't even put the games out until the 22nd. Either someone is uninformed or there's not a sale going on. Big letdown if mine in particular just isn't doing it.

It's faster on 3G than my wifi. No joke. The browser is not garbage. Some people just want to spread bad news around. I love it and it loads every page. Just doesn't do YT or other media sites well yet.

Your thumbs should be on the sticks or the buttons, and the rest of the hands supporting the unit.
The speakers should have enough clearance to deliver its sound. It won't be muffled at all.

Uncharted is close to 3GB and BlazBlue is above 3GB. Most other retail games are around 1.0~1.5 GBs. I have a 16 GB card with about 14 GB effective. The only DD titles I've bought are SSD and Lumines, which puts me at 13 GB.

What's your take on wipeout?

Worst part? Load times BUT the patch helped. I would not even fault the control which some might not like as much as HD because the sticks aren't as big. It's Wipeout HD basically but on the go. Not 60 fps but don't let that fool you into thinking this game isn't fast. I would get it on Amazon for 30 if you could or on a sale like the potential b2g1 free one.

Can someone test this for me? I want to see if it's a unique problem. If I play Wipeout, Hot Shots Golf won't work until I reset the Vita. It won't recognize the HSG card, but it will recognize any other game. Weird.

I have to reset my Vita every time I change game cards except for Little Deviants. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Finally got some hands on time with it today. Had a solid 30 minutes to mess around with it.

That screen sure is pretty. Much lighter then what I was expecting and the buttons and sticks feel ok. Would need more time with the sticks but I was playing super stardust with no problems.


Played Gravity Rush + Stardust + wipeout + Fifa. No uncharted for whatever reason.


Gravity Rush seemed like the standout launch game. Super pretty + neat gameplay idea.


I wont get one at launch but once they add ps1 BC back in and retails start having decent console + memory card bundles I will bite.

I actually don't know if that is sarcasm, because that wouldn't be shocking at all. Improved screen, processor, and battery. That is exactly the same upgrades as before. And 4g has been done by other tablet makers for over a year.

It's not sarcasm. You said you'd be shocked if it wasnt an incremental upgrade. A tablet with a 2048x1536 will be a site to behold, and is anything but an incremental upgrade. You can downplay it if you feel like, but I assure you the world wont.

1) Great for keeping out dust and dirt, etc. I like them.
2) Holding it wrong if you have your hands sprawled out on the back.
3) Maybe if you're using the stick like a stupid concave design 3DS/360 stick. Doing it properly, you don't hit anything.

2) Nope. Holding it naturally. It's unnatural to me to try to fit my fingers into to the tiny grooves on the back of the device.

Sizes of a good number of games is in the first post.

I'd go with a 16+ GB if you plan on doing DD stuff to avoid having to constantly erase and re-download games.

Do you not see the image of their golfballs on the green being knocked towards, and eventually into, the hole?

No internal memory, games are in the region of 300MB to 3GB right now. 8GB is relatively small and will probably not work out for you if you are planning to download a lot of games.
If you are, 16 should be minimum.

There's no internal memory. Yes, you will need a memory card. Games sizes are in the OP. If you're planning on purchasing digital content, the bigger the memory card the better.
