My sister is headed to AX this year. I could probably just have her get the book signed by a few people even if I miss the $30 pledge, well, I guess that is if they are gonna actually be there. Really wanted in on the $50 though. I would have picked something god awful just to troll the fuck out of the KS community >

Say what you will about Shizune's path, Rin's path is freaking exhausting. Glad to be over with that. Started Emi's path, and I think I prefer Rin when she's cracking wise at Emi as a side character than as a main character. Really enjoying Emi's path so far.

Yeah damn, I severely underestimated how popular KS would be. Just a warning for anyone on the fence, you may want to decide soon, because we just put a limit on how many $20 tier items will be available

You can revise your pledge later as well a change your reward tier. I wound up doing that during the Order of the Stick drive. Spent about triple what my initial pledge was since they kept adding incentives.
Thank you got the reply, as well a for where's hard work on this game. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for an a kon or Dragon*Con appearance.

Well, now I've only got one more story to go. Just finished going through Emi's route.
All in all, her story was rather predictable,
but I guess that's what I get for going through Rin's story first. With that being said I really liked her story, making her my second favorite girl of the bunch
. Of course, I still have Lilly's route to go through, so that could change.
Maybe it's just me, but Emi's art seems kind of inconsistent. One scene she looks her age with modest curves and another she looks prepubescent.
Or maybe I'm thinking to hard on this...

Well I decided to take the plunge on giving this a shot over a week ago and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised on the whole. I've done all the paths except the reportedly not great Shizune route which i'll probably get round to doing at some point in the future.
So I guess it's time for thoughts on what paths I have taken, I think it goes without saying that there are spoilers afoot.

So this is the first route I ended up going down and still my favourite, at first I was sort of skeptical about whether i'd enjoy the Emi experience but her cheerful character won me over, while the twist was obvious (if you can call it a twist, clearly the dad was dead) it still packed an emotional punch, yes I can't say I was expecting the game to tug on the old heart strings as much as it did. Though i'll confess to feeling a bit awkward when Emi first got her kit off and I began to ponder "just how old is this lass? I feel dirty" but hey she's the oldest of all it seems. Oh and the nurse is awesome, daily check ups never felt so anticipated.
Hanako:
If there's one thing I need to mention first it's the odd pacing of Hanako's story which is highlighted further when playing Lily's route. It's a shame because I feel that the story stopped a bit short, the ending never felt that conclusive to me but that aside I enjoyed Hanako's tale.
Rin:
Rin's standard artwork and manner of speech occasionally caused me to forget she was a girl when she popped up every now and then in Emi's path, fortunately by the time I got round to Rin's own route I had gotten past that problem, alas I still read her dialogue in a somewhat male tone, old habits die hard I guess.
Her story was a strange one, I never really clicked with it, I was waiting for the game to spring on a mental disability on top of the missing arms but I guess not. It's a long one as well, it's certainly different to the rest at least.

Lilly:
Felt like a pretty basic and at times cliché story but that's not necessarily a bad thing, the big turning point maybe took too long to arrive as a lot of the journey here was smooth sailing but it led to a solid finish that had me actually believing that i'd screwed up somewhere down the line and was doomed to a miserable ending for old Hisao but it was all one big swerve, crafty stuff. It's kind of funny that in a way Hanako arguably has better confidence growth here.
Also the music is surprisingly great, it adds a lot to the experience, now I just need to find a way to recommend this to people I know without them thinking i've gone mad.

Welcome to the fold. I don't think it's actually possible to recommend KS without putting your sanity into question. You just have to hope that they give the game a try and like it enough to drop their suspicions.

I'll have to think of a crafty way to explain the premise "it's a rip roaringly riveting tale of one mans conquest of the opposite gender whilst triumphing over adversity" there, that makes it sound almost heroic.

Took a gander at the summer book. Very neat stuff. I wonder if any of this supplemental material will be included in the artbook proper
