Someone took a good photo? Here's another from 2 months ago. ;)

still would but photos are too easy to manipulate!

I was bewildered by Peggy's reaction to that. The company's just lost its biggest client and the majority of its work and is struggling to stay afloat but Stan thinks it'll be funny to let Peggy go into a client meeting looking like a doofus, possibly jeopardizing an account when every single one is of the utmost importance?

She should have had his ass fired.
I think she learned from Joan in "The Summer Man" that it doesn't help anyone to be a "humorless bitch."

She's a strong enough person that she no longer needs to wield her power offensively, plus I think she enjoys toying with Stan to some extent.

- Tim Goodman's @ THR: Mad Men: TV Review *some minor spoilers*
The Bottom Line: After 17 months off the air, the AMC series returns with a two-hour fifth-season premiere full of fascinating moments and character nuance.

I think the article is sanitized of most spoilers, but please use tags if you're going to discuss anything spoilerish from the review.

Really interesting that
Betty isn't even in the premiere.

I hope that doesn't mean Sally isn't in it, or that strange little shapeshifting kid who likes sweet potatoes.

Currently trying to get my co-worker to return my season 4 blu-ray so I can prepare properly. "No, we haven't finished it yet!" She's had it for like six months. I'll shit in her cubicle.

I started watching Mad Men this year and was so fucking obsessed with it. I finished all four seasons in less than a week, and while I wasn't entirely happy with the season four finale, I am absolutely STOKED for this! TWO HOURS :O! YESSSS

Did you miss the part when
Joey got fired
? Joan gave a little speech to Peggy on that and I assume that's why she wasn't going to do it again.

So I've been trying to get into this show to get caught up for the new season, but I'm having alot of trouble keeping interest. I'm about 9-10 episodes into Season 2 and it hasn't hooked me in yet. It feels like the story arcs just don't bother to deliver that "One more episode feel" to get me to pound out episode after episode.

I mean, I liked the pilot alot, and I love the production values and acting. I love period pieces and the attention to detail for that era is amazing, but man, the writing and story just isnt doing it for me so far. It feels alot like the first season of Boardwalk Empire. I feel I "should" like this show, which is what's making it so frustrating for me.

Should I keep going into S3? When is the narrative suppose to really hook you in?

Gimme gimme gimme!!! I've been trying to get more friends into the show, so I can have a Mad Men nights.. But the last I tried it, we got so drunk, that I had to re-watch the episode the next day, hung over on my couch.

Also, that picture looks NOTHING like Peggy. I thought they were adding a new hot character :(

Jeez. What's with the Glenn hate? He's the most likeable character in the show - knows what he wants and goes out to get it. He's like a little version of Don Draper without the infidelity.

He's creepy, plus his overweeningly sardonic attitude grates on you.

I much preferred S1 sweet, naive Glen over S4 melancholy and world-weary Glen.

Bullshit. Player Glenn of season 4 is the best Glenn. Not only because he looks funny when he runs, but because of the role he plays in the relationship between Sally and her mother, which becomes all the more complex when the mother reprimands the kids in an odd frustrated and childish manner. They've more than hinted that Betty is emotionally child-like, and where Glenn fits into that is fun to watch.

Plus Glenn looks like Alfred Molina. Which is awesome.

/Glenn Defence Force.
