Yeah... That was a terrible first impression.

It does get better, so I would encourage you to stick with it past the character introduction stage even if you're not crazy about it at first. If nothing else, at least watch episode 25 or 79 to see how the show develops later on.

Holy shit. They did a really good job with this. It seemed believable, the tension was great, and the
Namatame scene in his room
was, dare I say, better than it was in the game.
Bad end avoided!
One thing I hope they do for non-gameplayers is
explain how Nanako came back to life. Us who've played know how it works, but for those yet to play, I hope they explain it for them.

Also late game late spoilers do not read any of this at all unless you've fully beaten the game:

It looks like they're not going to do the Izanami end after all, or if they do it'll be really short. My guess is that it'll be an OVA, if they choose to do her. Next episode will be getting Kuma back and then discovering Adachi and the confrontation at the hotel in the world will be the second half. Then the last episode will probably be his battle and the farewell. I'm looking forward to Adachi's bitches and whores speech though. It was great in the game.

Also MEGATON: Yu
FINISHED THE MEAT BOWL
HOLY SHIT YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Brotag does not fuck around. And Aika's thumbs-up was awesome.

Master Keaton 12-14

I don't know if "beautiful" is the word I would use.

First episode that impressed me. What started out as a simple search for a daughter given up for adoption turned into an
almost murder.
While the outcome was about what I expected, the lead-up wasn't anywhere close.
You wouldn't normally portray the missing person as a deranged psychopath with a completely fucked up life.
Really interesting direction the case went in.

That foreshadowing with the doll was great too. I noticed it and thought it was a bit odd, but I quickly forgot.

Also, Keaton seems to get involved with eccentric old women quite a bit.

That was great, not as rushed as I was expecting it to be.

Brosuke coming back to comfort Yu was pretty awesome.
Brosuke 4 lyfe.

I gave a nod of appreciation to Yu when he
FINISHED THE BEEF BOWL CHALLENEGE!

The title for episode 24 is hilarious: The world is full of shit!

Maybe they could fit it all in if they take out the OP like they did with this episode and also merge the ED with the animation.

Amagami SS+ 11:

They may be "playing", but Hibiki knows she's the third wheel here. I wonder if she's more jealous of Junichi or Haruka?

MORISHIMA SEKUSHII JESSHIKA.
My body was not ready. I'm already almost ready to declare this the best arc, especially after Junichi's overactive imagination
Jessica'd his own sister, complete with a nishishi in stereotypical gaijin accent
.

The whole "playing pretend" thing seems below everyone's age range, but I suppose that one of Haruka's charm points is her playfulness. I find her personality hard to pin down, but I've had a revelation about what exactly makes each girl waifu material during their respective SS+ arcs, so I'm sure I'll do the same with Haruka.

LATE GAME SPOILERS:
I can see that. The only thing i'm worried about is rushing it. I mean, we still have Teddie's reunion+explanation, the hunt for the culprit, Adachi's story+motives in the shadow hotel, Adachi dungeon, the actual fight and revelation of shadow Izanagi, the reveal+story of Izanami, the finding of the truth orb, the Izanami dungeon, two parts to the boss fight, and the goodbyes at the train (should only take like 3 minutes though). Not to mention with all the arcana, they'll probably throw in an ultimate fusion.

It just seems like a lot to cram in there. I can see them maybe short-changing the Teddie reunion and folding that into the Adachi reveal and then make the chase to him super short, with Izanami appearing at the end of the next episode and cracking it out that way.

Marika was pretty cool in episode 10, especially with that last phrase. Chiaki's behaviour is always sort of cute, even when she's playing
Marika's part.
The ED for episode 9 sort of scared me. I thought they had changed it, but thankfully it was back to the old one for episode 10.

That was absolutely nuts! So much insane shit happened in this episode. Issei's boosted gear keeps getting more ridiculous which is saying something right after Yuto's ridiculous sacred gear is introduced.

Best show of the winter season!

It sure looked nice, but 3 minutes is not nearly enough time for the story they were attempting to tell.

I don't get what I just watched. It doesn't feel like a complete short film at all. It's more like an animated trailer, opening movie or ad for a game. Really disappointing. :/

felt like a random in game cutscenes with corny lines, not sure why you would need outside people to do this.

Should of got the same people that did the new Kirby 3d show it looked 10 times better then this.

The Light of El Cantare
So I've decided to wrap up what I have left of Sailor Moon R. I'm planning on marathoning several series at the same time (of which Sailor Moon S is one), and my OCD demands that I begin my marathon with the first episode of each respective series, so this is sort of.......a pre marathon-marathon or something.

Sailor Moon R 79:

What's all the fuss? That's just a regular day here in Ohio.

I'm really not a fan of mascot characters. Hito argues that Luna and Artemis are at least better than any of the cuddly things in Precure, which I don't disagree with, but they're ultimately just the most tolerable out of an entire type of character that shouldn't exist at all. I think that seeing the preview for this episode is the reason that I burned out on R at this point in the first place.

It ended up being okay, and really underscored the important point that
Luna needs to stop being a bitch to Artemis because his feelings are easily hurt and he CAN be pushed too far.
Nice change of pace to see
Ami make the decisive blow against the enemy
, proving once and for all that
bubbles suck as a power
. Oh, and:

JczYJ.gif

Yatta yatta yatta ya, yatta yatta ya-ta-ta!

Sailor Moon R 80:

lol, Usagi totally nerfs
Giwaku's illusion
by
just accepting all of the insults being hurled at her
. It kind of reminds me of the hilarious fight in One Piece where
Usopp nullifies Perona's negativity fruit just by already being a pessimist
.

The villain has a really freaky bathtub, and
Saphir
has no shame whatsoever.
Using his power to ogle naked girls is probably a more useful application of his power than trying to defeat the Sailor Senshi
.

And why is
Makoto just wandering the halls of Usagi's high school?
I thought she
went to a different school like Rei based on the seifuku
, but maybe I missed something.

Most enjoyable show this season. Easily.

I'm missing out.

Guilty Crown, Daily Lives and some Persona 4.

The Winter dice roll did not treat me very well.

(Though I've had some good laughs with Daily, I guess)

On the bright side, I've been watching older/self-overlooked anime that has been quite enjoyable.

Trailer is definitely the right word.

The 3D looked neat I guess, though I don't know if it adds that much to anime.

Erika is the best~

Some more teasing of the main villain,
up on his asteroid.
New abilities for Sasorina, Kumojacky, and Cobraja,
while the Precures get new attacks.
It seems to be the current trend to focus on Yuri, but I'm not complaining, since learning about what happened to her is always interesting, and it's nice to see her slowly warming up to Erika, Tsubomi, and Itsuki.

Sasorina was so close to being healed, I wonder if that will happen again later?

The preview for next episode looks amazing,
Dark Precure, Tuxedo Mask the Hot Guy who shows up occasionally to save them, showdowns, more special Precure abilities, Cure Moonlight... what more could you want?

Possibly the best and only good moment in the entire episode, and ultimately one of Yosukes best moments. I think its on there for one of the worst episodes for this anime
Why did the plot venture into that terrible realm of bringing her back to life and at the sacrifice of such an awesome character. Teddie didnt need to sacrifice his own life just to enable her to live. My crying eyes, its like the anime doesnt want nary a happy moment.

At this point in time it is only two possible choices who the culprit is, the
either their mailman, he wouldnt look suspicious at all, maybe the dude at the gas station also does the mail, and has control of the mailbox, or the food delivery girl. I think its her because she always knew where they were, isnt suspicious looking, and could easily have ulterior motives for the town. I cant wait to see how she weasels her way out of it. Wonder what her vendetta was against the townfolks and the main team.

Thank the heavens they didnt play the OP for this episode!

Yeah, that episode was good stuff. The finale next week should be even more ridiculous. Hope this'll get another season or five - the whole season somehow feels like a prologue (because that's probably what it is)...

Yuri needs to smile more
I feel trolled,
Hot Guy is Coppe?!

Apart from that shocking revelation, this was an awesome episode, full of Grandmother moe, :firehawk, and
the Precure Palace. I really like what they've done to give a bit of mythos to the Precure in HeartCatch.

As for the next episode preview,
omg oh God oh yes CURE MOONLIGHT IS BACK

Puella Magi Madoka Magicka: Episode 05

Man, this show... I'm trying to avoid any amount of emotional attachment to anyone because I just don't know anymore. Homura is still my favorite though, darn it, and I'm worried about what might happen in the future.

Sayaka's fight was pretty awesome, and it was sort of tense seeing two magical girls fighting for once. Homura saving Madoka from throwing her life away again, haha. So dramatic in her timing. I swear, she does it intentionally.

Looking forward to next week!

The "uneventful" complaint really doesn't hold up any more at this point.

Up to this point it's mostly been evading, exposition, and dinner theater. Which sounds like a fun evening, but 10 episodes?

Don't get me wrong, it's definitely picked up and I like it quite a bit, I'm just trying to say that anyone watching it shouldn't expect it to kick into high gear in the first few episodes.

Kemonozume 12

An exceptionally daring and dense visual style, which is saying something for this show.

yIS8P.jpg

An overabundance of rough lines streaming all over the characters. Sharply contrasting colors.

QoENh.jpg

Dynamic, angular camera angles.

b8Uoy.jpg

A full leap into the surreal.

Passions are boiling over to the point that nothing can restrain them. Which is a bit overwhelming for me as the viewer. It was difficult to take everything in on first viewing. One character moment that stood out was
the link of brotherhood between Kazuma and Toshihiko, forged in youth and still strong at Kazuma's death - his feelings of distrust and inferiority look even more horribly misguided now.
The meta moment at the end was amusing. I have no idea how everything is going to be wrapped up in the last episode. but I'm eager to see.

Cool episode animation wise, Shu's fight was a nice payoff. One of the few episodes I actually felt was worth watching, because it was all action. Really though, who the hell leads a resistance riding a segway?

If they don't explain it in the show (which I hope they do for folks like you), I will tell you they for sure explain it in the game.

Also, i'm excited to see your reactions next week cause boy, it's gonna be a doozy.

The Shoemobile is powered by perfect, pure girls.

Hmm... Not really sure how to take this ending. It feels like it got a bit too crazy for its own good, and lost sight of the characters a bit in order to indulge in some setpieces.
I like the portrayal of the relationship between Ooba and his son that it was aiming for, but it got overshadowed by the grotesqueness of Ooba's walking head and chasing after his eyes and trying to keep the big ball from slamming into Tokyo (what was the whole deal with that anyway? - I thought Ooba was trying to turn humans into Flesh Eaters, not flatten the city) and such. The long-distance phone advice was also an unnecessary complication.

I'm not entirely displeased with how things ended up (
Toshihiko and Yuka stay together after all
), but I think the show started stronger than it finished.

I'm way behind on everything. Mass Effect is a hell of a drug.

Nichibros 10

This show is gold. The Bungaku Shojou skits had me rolling they were so good. Sad that there only two more episodes of this. :(

Recap episode. Also, I would easily pay money for a Gekiganger anime. The reversal is pretty funny in this.
