I'll be watching WWE for years to come. I enjoyed Wrestlemania and the overall product for the past 18 months, or whenever it was I started watching again. It's awesome and I love tuning in every week to see what happens next.

His new outfit tonight is a major improvement from just a week ago. Besides, the revelation that it's supposed to be post autopsy stitches makes me like the idea.

Agree with all of this. Honestly, I think tomorrow's Raw might be my last WWE show I watch. Gotdammit I wish I wasn't so broke that I can't afford A $2 WRESTLING SHOW.

So what was the low point of mania. Mama Clay, or the WHC match?

Mama Clay, the bridge club, the 10-second match, Maria Menunoous' soiled trunks, and the two back-to-back concerts for songs the WWE had played 6,5000 times previously.

Also the commercials.

I won't say I'm going to stop watching, but man, I can't get excited for stuff any more. The feeling I get from a high profile UFC fight is the feeling I used to get from pro wrestling. It's the feeling I got from Punk/Cena MITB 2011, so I know it's not gone, but God, that show really didn't do it for me.

I just don't know if I want to watch anymore. I probably could, but like you mention I just can't get invested in anything anymore. Most of Raw is just background noise for me anyways while I do something else.

Maybe I'll follow Striker's example and just catch the good bits on Youtube from now on.

There was a $2 iPPV a couple of days ago.

Lets see.

The best matches
HHH/Taker
Punk/Jericho
Rock/Cena

And we are expecting Lenars vs ??? and Stone Cold vs Punk.

So 6 out of 8 wrestler are already household names that had their prime 10 or more years ago 1 of the other 2 has been the same old shit from the past 6 years.

Is this WWE or WCW?

Somewhere out there, Dixie Carter is FURIOUS.

I'm going to have to shake your hand and agree. WrassleGAF's pretty much the only reason why I watch WWE now, but honestly it's just so bad that not even WrassleGaf can save it now.

And now it looks like D Brine going into Mid-Card hell, which pretty much means I'm done with the product.

Time to get into the indies and brush up on my Japanese.

So what was the low point of mania. Mama Clay, or the WHC match?

Stone Cold vs. Punk would require Punk going heel again; which I don't see happening.

Not really. They have conflicting morals and values with the beer and straight edge thing which could create a nice conflict, but either way, you can still have two faces, we did tonight with Rock/Cena. I'm not saying it'll work, but it's possible.

I don't think Stone Cold is ever coming back though. His injuries are just too much.

Didn't they see the ending of Timecop?

Awesome.

My theatre was PACKED. Couldn't believe so many people still cared about wrestling, I came 20 minutes early and had to sit three rows up.

I legitimately raged at the Sheamus/Bryan match. Not only because Bryan should have won... but fuck. That was your world heavyweight championship match at Wrestlemania. The theatre was PISSED. The little Jimmies loved it (and there were many little Jimmies), but we had a bullshit chant going after that. So, so bad.

Stone Cold vs. Punk requires Punk going heel because Stone Cold has said outright that he would only do it if he was facing heel Punk.

Stone Cold himself said he can wrestle, but I'm pretty sure he meant for just a match or two and not the WWE schedule (obviously).

And as good as both Stone Cold and Punk are Creative and Vince are really going to have to let them do their own thin and not butt in too much.

I'm just a bit concerned about how the WWE will be over the next few months.

No more Rock, HHH, or Taker. Jericho probably leaving soon as well. They've done such a miserable job building up the majority of the guys on the roster, and it seems like they have to start at square one again for some guys. Cena and Punk are running out of guys to have feuds with. Brock, Albert, and the FCW guys should help things out, but they have to really be committed to making those guys look strong.

Eventually, the WWE needs to start relying less and less on "the old guard", and that time is getting closer and closer.

Damn so much bitterness, LOL. I didn't think the show was that bad, and I'm not one to mince words about how bad wrestling is nowadays. It was probably the worst build up to a Wrestlemania ever, but the crowd was pretty hot, I don't think any match was horrible except the divas match.

It was pretty lame for Danielson to lose in about 10 seconds, but it sort of fit the heel gimmick shit he was doing. You don't do that on a Wrestlemania show though.

I don't think it's an all time great show or anything, but of the "PG era" WWE shows it wasn't any worse. At least the crowd had actual rooting interests in some of the matches, unlike last year where no one liked Cena and no one gave a shit about The Miz so it was horrible. Or the same old Cena overcomes the odds bullshit ever present in the past several Wrestlemania title matches before that.

Oh, really? I never knew Stone Cold said that. Either way, I don't think it's enough to give up on Punk's face run. With Cena being proverbially shit on by the Rock tonight, Punk is in the wing to become the undisputed face of the company.

I would like to see it maybe two Wrestlemanias from now or something. Turn Punk heel after the next WM, then have Austin set him straight and turn face at the one after.

Money In The Bank 2011 was more of a Wrestlemania feeling PPV than Wrestlemania was.

That goes for all you people who haven't watched wrestling in years too. GO FIND MITB 2011.

Well thats pointing out the one diamond in the coal mine, before they wrecked everything afterwards anyway. As far as the Wrestlemania's go though, I didn't think this was any worse than the past few years,

Problem is 2 fold.

1) none of the current crop (outside of Punk, Miz and Wade Barrett) are interesting on the mic and in ring. Their gimmicks aren't interesting and the hard edged image of the Attitude Era is dead because

2) TV-14. The G Rated programming can't hold a candle to the Vince Russo booking of the 90s and 00s. No asskickers, no bad asses. All those guys are gone, man. Plus, when wCw died, there was no reason to up their game. They won but in reality, competition is good.

It's called selling the fact that LIKE HE SAID ON RAW, he ALWAYS WINS. As he was going to deliver the The People Elbow from the time he lost, he went from "LOL I got this" to "WTF I blew it, I lost" outside the ring.

YOU WERE FOOLED.
wait are you speaking in the perspective of me speaking?

Another thing, 4 hours is complete and utter overkill. They need to cut back to 3 hours, and cut back all the other PPV's to 2 hours. They're stretching stuff out SO much, and all the filler comedy sketches + musical performances are so corny. A 3 hour version of this show with a proper D Brine/Sheamus match and 10 minutes taken from Rock/Cena would've been so much better.

Yo dawg, Websters Dictionary's defines an Under Dog as someone not favored to win.

That's what me, John Cena, and your post are.

just got back from a mania party with my friends, and the general reaction was "mehhhhh"

couldn't believe they went through half the card in the first hour

I'm not so sure how well the "Attitude" era stuff would sell to today's audiences. I get the feeling most teens would think it was lame. We ate it up because it was so crazy to see guys cursing on TV and beating up McMahon. It would be old hat now. I know people say going PG has killed WWE, but I wonder if it is really their only option these days.

FUCK YOU TOO, BUDDY!
ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! KANE! ROCKY!

Ima go watch some matches on my Stone Cold bluray now.

For the last year, your hero (Dwayne) has done everything you grew to hate Cena for - and more. You are cheering one man, and booing another, yet they both are exactly the same.
