I'm not really familiar with the walking exploit you guys are talking about, but he isn't doing anything different than I'd say a lot of us demon hunters have been doing in beta. Are you saying you can actually fire faster than your attack speed allows because after every movement it's like your attacks are reset and your firing for the "first" time?

It's basically animation cancelling from fighting games. The whole animation of 1 attack takes X seconds but the actual damaging thing comes out after X - Y seconds, so if you move after Y seconds and do another attack you will save the remaining time. It's very unlikely that they'll bother to fix this because it will actually be a huge amount of work and Blizzard is already in "fuck it just ship it" mode. Also this issue was made known to Blizzard since last year and since it hasn't been fixed till now, it's obvious they consider it low priority and may consider it to be a "secret" gameplay skill like killing your own creeps in DOTA.

In the linked thread:
Quote from Bashiok regarding Animation Cancelling:
It's an intentional mechanic, not an exploit or bug. Our intent is simply to make combat feel good and responsive, but the implementation to hit that goal in the closed beta build is actually quite old. It's likely you'll see changes within some future beta push that reflect more what we're testing now internally, but of course it's possible that won't be the final implementation either.

So no, it's not a bug or an exploit, and it's part of the game. Good actually, means there is some nice room for skill cap in Diablo 3. I look forward to that.

The bug is constant clicking being faster than auto-attack. Animation cancelling is different.

I played the Diablo 3 beta and liked it. I've been trying to play through Diablo 2 for the first time ever and it's difficult to get in to. So antiquated. Torchlight>Diablo 2. How's Titan Quest?

Titan Quest is alright. I'm sort of playing through it right now, currently in Athens, but I just can't get invested in it so close to Diablo 3's release.

Would be hilarious if that was a feature too.

My brain is wired to keep clicking the mouse button. Wouldn't mind having an advantage for that. :p

Gah, I don't get why I can't get into this. I was so excited for this to come out and then we saw more of it and my excitement sort of dropped (not sure why). Then I got the beta and was kind of bored fast, then left it. Came back to it and I'm still bored... I think I'm just old and lame now.

What else is in this game?! Why's it taken 6 years! Are the other acts going to be nuts?

Probably. The equivalent part of D2 had you mostly fighting against Quill Rats and slow moving zombies.

I was the same until I played with my friends a bit; the addiction is well and truly back!

I knoww. But I feel like it was still cleaner/more satisfying killing Quill Rats, the game feels a bit dirty to me... I feel like I'm playing a game in OnLive (don't know why). I have my resolution to 1920x1200, yet it still feels a bit blurry and muddled.
Maybe wait for it to come out and see what's in the other areas.

Yeaa, I'm still probably going to get it. I still got some hope left.

First, I have zero issue with the concept of the RMAH. It's not in everyones best interests to keep it safe from hackers, it's Blizzards, players never asked for a RMAH. If given a choice pretty much every player would give up the RMAH for an offline mode instead, but we weren't given that choice.

Neither choice is a perfect one, I'd just prefer not trade away legitimate high quality items that I earned for a dupe.

Couldn't care less about offline mode. The only time I used it in D2 was to mess around with mods or test different builds/gear.

Haven't WoW and SC2 been mostly clean, relatively speaking?
Yes. People seem to be expecting dupes and I don't understand why. 12 years since d2 was released, I'm sure they have a little more experience dealing with this kind of thing.

Not really. I would take the RMAH any time and any day over offline mode. You need to stop thinking that everyone out there has the same opinions as you. People arguing for offline mode are likely just the vocal minority. For me, I couldn't care less that we are not getting an offline. Diablo just isn't a particularly fun game without going online anyway.

As for the RMAH, I'm glad it's there because now I don't have to resort to buying items I will never find in-game from shady websites and forums.

Cant beleive there is around 2 weeks until release. And 3 weeks after the release of that is E3. A week after E3 its Jay-Z Kanye concert for me. Looks like the next 2 months are going to be fun for me.

Question, how much of the first act was part of the beta.

Meh, until you got to the monestary the game was not challenging at all. Those demons that shoot lightning though, man they hurt.

To be fair, I was like eleven years old when D2 came out. My perception of when "things got real" is probably skewed.

I think I'm going to play through it a bit today to get a feel for how far things came through patches in the seven or so years since I quit playing.

I didn't have even the slightest bit of trouble until probably the maggot lair in act 2. Even andarial is a huge joke if you know to use antidote potions. Act 2 really ramps up pretty quickly though with maggot lair and the claw viper temple, then moving into the tombs of tal rasha and finally duriel which is probably the most annoying boss fight in the entire game.

Yeah I played DII for the first time last year with no prior knowledge of any valid builds. Necromancered my way to duriel and that was a wall for me lol. Died so many times.

I encountered a new Monster Type today.

The suffix "Waller" gives mobs the ability to build walls that you cannot shoot or move through. Shit like this will get one killed later on.
