Found the scans. If I didn't know what I was looking at, I'd never be able to tell it was an Elder Scrolls game.

Do not want.

no player housing lol, what the fuck have these chumps been doing for the bast 5 years. you can also tell its hero engine by the shitty ass hair.

so Bethesda literally read through ArenaNet's blog posts and designed their game ripping off every single positive thing about GW2. Interesting.

buggiest MMO of all time?

They can't QC a SP offline game, so yes, I'd assume your assumption to be correct. Unless they water it down so much and remove so many of the "dynamic elements" that ES has that is. I won't buy another of their SP games, let alone this. Though I will say I'm curious to see how it actually turns out in terms of bugs and such. I can't imagine the combat being too good as well.

It looks like SWTOR with fantasy armors, and it sounds like a more casual GW2.

So its pretty much ES in name only, fantastic.

At least the ordinator armor looked pimp as fuck.

Woah at the screns.

Meh!

Still interested on the PVP side but those screens are incredibly bland, especially in this moment where I'm playing Tera.

This is turning out to be a disaster already. Has something like this ever happened so fast, basically mere hours after the announcement?

Also it sounds simple enough you could probably play it with a gamepad, so I wouldn't be surprised if it found its way to next gen consoles, well I guess that depends on how not shitty the hero engine is.

It looks more like LOTRO.

Oh man, yeah it really does..

I'll write the details for a new thread. It should take about 20-30 minutes, since I feel people won't mind if I'm not that specific this time.

there will be classes not free skill progression, like every elder scrolls.

basically i think its just an mmo like every other mmo that tries for wow-success.

So I wonder if being developed for Mac as well means going forward we're going to see The Elder Scrolls games on Mac as well?
I would love to see Skyrim ported to Mac rather than always having to boot into Bootcamp

How is this NOT just Skyrim gameplay on a massive scale + other people. And sup with the art?

How is this a thing?

if this was like skyrim, but bigger and online,it would be different and unique and amazing.

but is doesn't look that way.

Talk about missing the point when people said they want an Elder's Scrolls MMO

its an mmo with elderscrolls lore.
not an elder scrolls mmo.

at least from what i read until now.

So guys, do you think this will have a monthly fee or not? Not many MMO's stay with a monthly fee for long, so I don't know.

Five Things I Want to See in The Elder Scrolls Online

The announcement I've been waiting for ever since ZeniMax Online Studios was founded has finally arrived: there's a massively multiplayer online Elder Scrolls game on the way. Now I can deliver my list of demands suggestions for making The Elder Scrolls Online the best MMO it can possibly be.

....blahblahblah.....

No Traditional Character Classes

(nop)

First-Person Action-Adventure

(nop)

Minimal Interface

(nop)
skills are not like the elderscrolls game.you have class and hotkeys....

Faction-Based Player Versus Player Combat

???

And Finally, Mods

the kotaku article describes what most ppl would request....

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
I'm not too keen on this. One of the great things about the other games was the solitary experience and seeing your choices shape the world. I'm not sure if I'm gonna enjoy exploring lost ruins or chasing after thieves when hundreds of other players are doing the same quests and actions. Plus, the setting doesn't really distinguish itself from other high fantasy MMO games.

It's just the name that sets it apart.

lol choice in Elder Scrolls

Yes but developed by the DAoC people. DAoC had the worst balance and overnerfing I ever experienced.

DAoC was amazing. It only turned to shit after trials of atlantis. Running 8 man, stealth grouping, even some nice old fashioned relic raids, were all absolute blasts and by far the most fun I've ever had in MMO PVP.

Let's think of time-honored features of the TES franchise that couldn't possibly work in an MMO. I'll start:

  • Being able to kill whoever you want
  • Being able to steal from whoever you want
  • Being able to use stealth to sneak up on enemies
  • Being able to create spells

Game has been in development for 5 years so hard to say how much they did. Looks like they basically copied DAOC from the article I read.

You know a lot of MMOers have been asking for a straight up DAOC update, so we'll see how that plays out.

I'm personally disappointed it is not a sandbox MMO; however, they are adding some unique ideas like Finesse and the Stamina bar for blocking, dodging, sprinting, etc...

Time will tell.

I saw the scans and it certainly doesnt look like TES game, more like Rift and Guild Wars hybrid.

I liked some gameplay mechanics description, especially about dungeons being shared like in older MMOs [Lineage 2] and world PvP. I always liked to fight with people in dungeons or just PK them :)
But i think that combat will be too generic to keep the community and i dont really think that they are sure how to make pve content. At least they plan AI to be great, so thats a plus.
Also class based TES games doesnt seems right and that the whole time they were comparing it to WoW and Skyrim.

Agreed; all depends on the combo system, stamina bar, and how many skills they give you that you are forced to down select from to really make a splash. Not sure if it is enough.

DO NOT FUCKING WANT.

Still, as long as the mainline ES games are cool, I dgaf. I can just ignore this (potential) POS.

Third person, no real time combat, no player housing, cannot become a werewolf or vampire(because of online balance issues?), looks like a medieval reskin of SWTOR. No thanks.
