Honestly, I don't know. I guess it's up to the mods. What he reveals could be something that was just concept and didn't materialize into an actual game. We won't know until E3 or even after E3, though, he does seem to try traffic to his site through his wording.
He has insider information.

But whatever, you know if I say something is real, I mean it. Title Fight = PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was real as I provided evidence from the start, Street Fighter IV back in the day...same thing, Skyrim and The Last of Us, check and mate.
Ok then there's the Kojima "taboo" game that went haywire but it seemed too crazy not to share. And with TMNT Manhattan Crisis, how could I not share that one!? It was way too cool of a story to pass up on, even if I had my own doubts from the very beginning.
Me saying in April, 2011 that Retro Studios was making a title that "everyone wants them to do" was a fact, but I had ZERO clue as to what it was. Heck, I was kind of wishing for something along the lines of Nintendo's own Perfect Dark-like first person shooter that would be fresh and unique yet be able to compete with the likes of Halo 4 and Call of Duty.
We all have our own wishes and if what I got is true, I'll personally be very excited to see it myself. Do I have my reservations? Absolutely, it's why I'm labeling it a rumor and am trying not to get too wrapped up in it all of it.
Still, the gamer in me, the friend of my fellow internet gamers in you, and so on just can't help but want to share the joy of thinking of what this game could look like and play like, and that's why I'm putting it up.

I'm hoping for something wildly creative and T-rated. Not a bullshit T like Twilight Princess, but a premise where gravity of things is just enough to solidly escape E10+.
He's making this seem like it's legit, last-minute, insider's info though, or at least that's how it's portrayed through the article. I guess you're right though.

How sure are you in this rumor?
I understand it's a rumor, and it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
But you said you don't report on 90 percent of the stuff you hear because a lot of it is bullshit. So I'm guessing this is something you have confidence in being real from a reliable source?

I get all that, and understand that it's interesting to share, but sometimes it's better not to share things unless you're fairly certain, because people who do that end up having a bad track record overall, and then when the real stuff does come out, it's a boy who cried wolf type of deal. Will you at least say if you think your source is trustworthy?
Either way, I'm definitely interested.

It's like you've read my mind. I couldn't come up with a better idea if Retro Studios said, "Paul, you tell us what to make and we'll make it." What I received is absolutely bitchin' in my opinion. My heart even sunk a bit and got a little chill when I first heard it cuz it's so damn cool.
It's one of those things that I'm looking at just from a gamer's point of view and would die to play this game. But it's weird at the same time. Let me ask you all something.
Any of you watch UFC or any team sport for that matter? Have you ever wanted a fighter or team to win so badly, and I mean, so so badly [and not like you have anything to gain from them winning (not counting money)] that when they lose you're so devastated and pissed off and think that you might be the reason to blame...for jinxing him/her/them?
Yeah, I felt this way when I read the rumor and have been feeling it for a week now. It sucks but at the same time gets my really hyped beyond belief.
but ace assured us there was no way retro would work on a new IP

I was thinking the same. I want this E3 to be amazing and if it turns out to be Nintendo's biggest surprise of the show, I would rather hear it then. Decisions, decisions.

The game is targeted for the PS360 crowd. Other than specific IPs mentioned as not being the game, the remaining Nintendo IPs not mentioned wouldn't fit this idea.

I had a bit of this feeling during the last summer olympics. An american athlete lost gold on his last shot of a handgun competition because his gun misfired. All he needed was a hit on the target basically to win it. Sad part was that the same thing happened 4 years prior and he lost gold, but that loss was how he meet his wife. Anyway, i would think about that loss constantly and random times for the next 2 months and it would effect me in a very strange way. To be so close to something amazing and have it not pan out.
