I couldn't handle Retro's game, New Super Mario Brothers Wii U and Pikmin 3 at launch.

One of those games will surely be there but all of them makes no sense to me along with all the very good third party non-exclusives we know of.

Yeah I know it's a rumour, but given that he's credible, there is actually a chance it might be true. And if it's mind blowing, I might prefer an E3 reveal. In reality however it would be hard to ignore Neogaf or all the other gaming sources that would link it.

I did think it was odd that, besides assassin, all the people that were giving hints or creating rumors were juniors. Not saying that it always makes them not-credible, but it definitely is something to consider.

What's the likelihood of someone coding a driver for streaming to it from a PC? Being able to use it as a keyboard/remote/screen for my PC would be...mindblowing

Wsippel confirmed that it's using ni-fi (nintendo's wireless solution most commonly used in ds-ds/3ds-3ds communication)

Yeah, I felt this way when I read the rumor and have been feeling it for a week now. It sucks but at the same time gets my really hyped beyond belief.

Your avatar reminded me, what the fuck ever happened to Shinobi? Thought it was a great game on the PS2, and I think there was a sequel starring a girl-ninga in pink and white (just looked it up, it's Nightshade), but after that, nothing was heard from it again. It's a shame, because that game had real potential to be awesome if it got another chance.

I guess there is a 3DS game, but it looks like it never existed, as I can't find that much info on it, and the small amount I can find makes it look not that great.

Its out and apparently not awful, just not great. But yeah, the series seems dead. Love love love the brutal style of the original, even if i couldnt get past 8-1. Fuck those bottomless pits.

Yeah, it was kind of everything that Ninja Gaiden went on to be. Violent, brutal, quick, fun, and punishingly hard. Did you ever play Nightshade? Was it any good? I remember the reviews weren't that hot, but then again, they weren't for Shinobi either.

well guys when metroid prime was given to retro, at that time they were asked to make first person game due to their strength (Miyamoto). Now when new guys join from naughty dog, id software and vigil, I believe the task which has been given to retro would be again by considering their strengths. Which seems like more on first/third person perspective.

If they develop totally new Ip it will be:
Fantasy / sci-fi First /Third person game

1. Zelda (or part of zelda world)

The 3DS Shinobi got great reviews in general - looking at metacritic, of 33 reviews 24 of them were 70 and up, 11 of those were 80 and up. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3DS game were viewed as a good launching point for restarting the series up again.
