Man, I'm clearing my backlog like a boss.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

Good, if very derivative. A solid 7. Great ending, I thought.

Superbrothers

Really good, relaxing game. STUNNING music. Nice change of pace for me.

Also clearing console games, but this is the steam thread.

I hope you guys haven't missed this awesome Chaser deal?

Is the single player good? 'Cause I ain't going to be playing a 10 year old multiplayer shooter that runs on gamespy.

Also I realized by the end of this weekend, I'm going to be the proud owner of Gettysburg: Armored Warfare!

Actaully, it's one of the best games I've ever played. Replaying it for... 4th time arelady. The game is very focused on the story of the protagonist, and is full of drama, unexpected twists and cyberpunk-a-like surroundings. And it's very long and tough I must add. My first playthrough took something like 3 or 4 months (was 13yo). The biggest problems with the game are:
- level design; when you have no idea where you should go and what to do. It's really easy to lose yourself.
- AI. There are no chances you'll play stealth with them; always aware of your location, which is sucks.

TIP: You can activate slow motion by pressing Caps Lock.

Hmmm...

Oh what am I kidding it's less than 2 bucks. Bought.

Hmm, first time someone has tried to phish me into giving my log in info. Someone was impersonating Dave-edi-on or Davidion here on GAF.

Anyway, it's neat how Steam recognizes already installed programs and I don't need to re-download them when I am moving to a new HDD or re-installing windows, unlike every other service so far.

Dave-edi-on just added me on Steam, huh
Yep same here. Poor guy has more imposters than I'd be comfortable with..

[Far Cry 2] VA is godawful.
It's very particularly awful. It's not enough to say it's awful.
To those who don't know: For some reason, everyone hurries through their lines like they're being paid by the second. Add to that strange accents and some mumbling and you're sitting there, wondering what went wrong. It is so bizarre. I thought something was wrong with the sound the first time I heard it.

I had someone try to phish me last night, it was a really terrible attempt I must say. He sends the friend invite, I accept, he says hello then goes on to say "Have you heard what they say about you in forum?" Verbatim. I ask which forum, then he dumps a link that says Steamconnunity lol and tells me to go to that and login. I told him then and there to get fucked, I didn't hear anything else from him.

Onto the second point, I transferred 200 odd games from my laptop to my gaming PC and while the vast majority were completely fine, I found that for whatever reason Valve games weren't recognised. I tried placing them in the common folder and also their usual folder (I forget what it is), no dice. Had to redownload them, but yeah, in general I do agree that it is pretty great.

Sorry to ask, is there any feedback on Harley Quinn's Revenge dlc for Batman? I didn't see a thread about the release and I smell the three mission pack for 10€ :(

I just decided to finally give Dungeons of Dredmor a little go before I went to the store.

It's two hours later and I'm fucking hungry. Why can't I stop playing!?

That is the question. I don't like the game. Yet I have played it for 18 hours.

did you go through the PB install? it's usually behind all your windows that are open.

Also note: Crysis 1 has a 5 activation limit on Steam which you cannot reclaim.

what? I am never buying that game then. Is there any other game with some ridiculous DRM in steam?

Cheers. Found it!

Also, quick tech question. Without Vsync, game runs at 100-120FPS but with horrendous tearing. With Vsync, it sticks to 24FPS. Anyway to sync it to 60FPS?

If you're running NVidia you could turn VSync off in game and try Adapative VSync in NVidia control panel.

What's the difference between on and adaptive? I'm asking because the tearing in The Last Remnant is pretty bad and it doesn't have an in-game option for v-sync I don't think.

Adaptive disables v-sync when the framerate is below the display refresh rate and en(/re-en)ables it when the framerate is above the display refresh rate.

Hmm..might just have to keep it switched to on if I am understanding that right. My refresh rate is 60 and usually if I go to highest settings on newish stuff I run about ~45.

Even though I guess newer stuff should be more likely to have the option in-application

So you're telling me even if I uninstall Crysis, I don't get one of my activations back? What the hell is this world coming to. Thanks for bringing this to my attention because I was planning on getting this during the Summer sale, but now I'm not.

Just finished the Deus Ex HR DLC, The Missing Link. Awesome mission, loved getting the Factory Zero achievement. But it should have been part of the main game, not a DLC.

If anyone has the same problem, the problem is a bug where in full screen mode, Crysis will see your monitor as 24hz. There is no proper fix, except to press ALT + Enter to exit and enter full screen mode until you get a solid 60/120FPS.

Have you tried playing at another time?
lol yeah

Sword and Sworcery had the same problem, so I deleted it and reinstalled it (since it's a small game I could do that quickly on my slow connection) and that fixed it.

Redownloading Dear Esther now, I think the fact that I changed my windows user name recently (maybe in the middle of some steam downloads) might have something to do with it.

Anyone know anything about this Game of Thrones RPG?

Haven't tried it yet, but I've noticed it has been climbing the top sellers list the last week. I guess it's getting some good word of mouth or something, given that there has been no sale I'm aware of.

It's like kotor, except really clunky and even my super interest in the ASOIAF series isn't enough to keep me playing.

Also really awful FoV. Uses UE3 so I hope you can modify that but still, UGH
