Got my copy, played through the singleplayer and unlocked all characters, feeling pretty ready to try some multiplayer later but not tonight.

Once I completed the game, I think I got a message that I had unlocked full character selection for campaign, I haven't checked it out yet though.
Ah, i see, not sure then, i've always imagined the code generators are regionalized, and if it did work you'd end up with a Pain DLC

I heard in another topic that they actually had to take out a loan to produce some recent game. It's possible that they literally can't afford to produce Anarchy Reigns here right now.
I can confirm that Play-Asia's next restock still includes the Bayonetta DLC. I ordered Sunday but it still hasn't shipped. So I sent an email and got this back:

Okay, I was suddenly extremely disheartened by the multiplayer. I wanna unlock the abilities, but it turns out for that I have to play the multiplayer for that and I have to gain XP and achieve ranks.
I. Hate. Ranks.
Not only that, I have to perform well in multiplayer in order to gain the XP. That isnt easy when everything is lagging for me (only playable region being japan) and everyone playing there have already achieved rank 50 or so and become too damn good for me.

Is it ranked matches where you are forced to play with random people all the time to gain exp? If not go buddy up with fellow gaffers and kick the shit out of eachother for fun and profit!
I havent messed with MP at all, since truthfully I dont care much about MP in general for games these days asides from co-op stuff.

Do agree with you 100% bout hating shit like ranks / levels etc.
Since all it does is really screw over those new to the game and with less time to play than others.

For what it's worth, Takedown Defense unlocks just by playing the campaign and is easily the best ability I've acquired so far. Definitely agree that ranks are dumb though.

Actually, the thing about ranks is, is that you gain them incredibly quickly. A single strong win in cage match will level you up 60% of the way up a rank, and the ranks don't scale. They're always the same amount of points to get to the next one.
Also, is anyone else surprised how many North Americans and Euros are playing? I'm adding everybody with a decent ping to my friends lists for matches, and I'm finding I'm doing that ALOT. I imagine I'll have MAXxed out my list soon enough.

Holy cow, Douglas is an absolute beast if you can get him up to level 3. I just finished a Battle Royale with him with 13 kills and 2 deaths.

Am glad you managed to find some fun in the MP mode after how it seemed you were quite bummed out originally.
Though that is batshit crazy there is no way to switch between teams considering how MP specific the game is. :/
That decision not to have that baffles me honestly. It makes things a pain if you just wanted to even out CPUs on teams or something.
I was thinking "Surely it was just free attacking till then, it'll put me back up when the duel begins." NOPE! lol
In the demo, you could switch team by going into View Player List, I think.
Still waiting for my copy to ship from NCSX. Been sitting at order received since Monday evening. I sent em an email asking when they'd be getting restocked and they said Thursday or Friday and that the game would be sent out as soon as it arrived. Guessing now that they didn't get any 360 copies or something this week.

Hopefully, Platinum Games is looking to balance these things out over time.
Yeah theres just a lot of weird choices. There is no benefit to being a faster character vs being one of the stronger ones. Especially since the stronger guys have the ability to grab two people and their grabs and more damaging (???)

Beat single player and apparently it looks like there might? be two hidden missions judging from the stage list after. Seems that two are still blanked out. Wonder if you need to get all plats on the stages or something. Still with that being said, sold the game back for now managed to get 4,000 yen back so not too bad. If I did it faster would have been 4,500. That cash is going to fund Rune Factory 4 which comes out next week. Not really much of a MP player so figured no sense in keeping the title for now. Am sure it will have a price drop in the future and Ill pick it up again then just for the collection.
Overall enjoyed the SP, though felt the ending was a little limpdicked with the loose ends that didnt seem like were tied up proper. Everything till then with the story seemed quite decent though.
Really do think this was some sort of testbed title, for Rising. But thats just me over thinking perhaps.

Okay, serious question, can anyone help me out?
I thought I finished campaign mode, but in White Side stage 4, I somehow managed to unlock and beat the final main mission, which caused me to miss several free missions. This in turn, is causing me to miss some character models etc.
What's weird is that I'm barred from selecting stage 4 again in the stage select. It shows the medals I won for the missions I did complete, but it simply won't let me select stage 4. I selected stage 3, and noticed all missions are unlocked once I'm in the main map. I thought If I finished the last main mission, (teaming with Nikolai and Sasha to beat Max) then I would trigger into stage 4, but it just lets me free roam around stage 3 after the cutscene finishes.
Argh, how the fuck can I finish what I need to do in stage 4? There's no earthly way I'll need to finish the first 3 stages all over again is there?

If you had beaten the stage it should have unlocked upon completion.

I am in the same position after skipping one free mission in the White Side campaign Stage 4. I think I need to play through the White Side campaign again which I am not looking forward to.

There are alot of subtle advantages that aren't really apparent to new players starting out.
Smaller characters usually have better tools to mount an offense off of or keep them safe.
Like Ai Rin(lightweight character I play the most) can jump cancel the first hit of her KW attack on block or on hit. She can also stop after 3 hits of it and continue with a weak string while her opponent is in a juggle state.(off of which she has multiple options where she can go for maximum damage, positioning or meter gain)
Vs someone like Douglas(grab character I play the most) who has none of those.
When he does his KW he either has to finish it or he doesn't. He recovers too slow from any single hit to gain any advantage and the last hit knocks them too far away for him to continue any offense. On block it's extremely punishable as he has no cancel options.
There are tons of character specific options across the whole cast. If your pick isn't suiting your playstyle, try someone else out and see if what they have fits what you want to do in the game
As for big characters in dominating in general, my theory is just that new players don't know how to deal with it. A common early bad habit I see with lower rankings is that they never jump. Which is why I pick douglas vs them because I know I can charge grab them all day as they try to roll out of the way instead of just jumping or simply stuffing it with a hit.
I did this too
I thought there were 3 main missions in white side 4 like all the other acts.
So I did 2 without doing the last Free Mission for stage 4. Which took me to redside after its completion
To unlock a stage in stage select you have to complete all the free missions.
and it doesn't look like there is a way to do that after completing campaign. So right now the only option appears to be starting a new one from scratch and getting it that way.
Sucks but I planned on doing that for the trophy anyways at some point.

Strange since Ive skipped a lot of missions in the white side campaign and even some in the black side. Was able to select them no problem in the free mode which I was messing around with before selling the game. For the White campaign I basically was just trying to blast through it and only did enough free missions to unlock the story ones.
Sorry cant be of much more help than that now that I dont have the game on hand.

Its odd since they really looked like there were 2 hidden stages in the list or something. As nothing was listed with them. Using the other stage listings as an example of what kind of data would have been present.
Which is why am wondering if there is something hidden for getting all platinum ranking on the stages or something.
