Seems like he may have surrendered, so I hope he doesn't try to make a point during the trial.

yeah, it seems like he wants an audience or something. or hes just batshit insane. or both.

I'm not looking forward to the psycho's smug face as he gets all of the attention in the world. Just like that trash who killed all of those people the other year.

me neither. but if hes alive then he can receive as much punishment as the law allows, without taking the easy way out. its weird to say im "glad" because this is such a fucked up situation where there is nothing to be glad about

I can't help but wonder if it makes me a bad person or not showing much interest in the stuff going on across the world.

Not really a bad person, but sometimes it's hard to remember the weight of a situation when it's happening in third person and far away in a land that it seems to be common in.

Another victim has died at the hospital. 15 now confirmed dead.

NEVERMIND: It was a prank call that got through. Death toll still just at 14.

I don't think anybody would be able to keep their mental health up if we showed as much interest in foreign tragedies as we do ones closer to us.

Imagine being all excited to finally see the new Batman film, sitting down and getting engrossed in it, and then as guns fire on screen, guns fire all around you...and all of a sudden, a scene of death--people all around you screaming, running, and dying. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around. So fucked up.

Nah I do it all the time. Interest is one thing, but blatant negativity is another. When I see or hear about incidents that happen across the pond I'm sympathetic/empathetic like most normal human beings are, but when I see how some other nationalities react when things like this happen in the states it makes my stomach turn. (youtube comments on the video link here are a prime example) I think most of the world would truly be happy if the USA imploded in on itself. Most of the world truly hates us.

Reading some of the witnesses accounts makes my stomach curl. I can only imagine the horrors they went through. Truly harrorwing to read.

Wow...

Someone just called into the 9 News channel, pretending to be the Police Chief, and made some Howard Stern joke? or something?

Woww......

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
You're just being a good human being. Don't beat yourself up about it.

Things always feel more important when they're closer to home. And asU goofy as it is to say, knowing that these people were just trying to enjoy a movie that most of us have been hyping for such a long time kind of brings it closer to home. We can all visualize mostly what it would have been like. There's very little that's alien about this.

Thanks. Not trying to play the victim card here, but shortly before all the details started flowing in I was talking with a friend about how this thread would probably be something everyone would forget about by tomorrow. Eating those words now.

Aiii

So not worth it

We really don't. And really, there's folk in the US that respond the exact same way to shootings on EU soil. Fuck those people really, incensitive assholes that have no empathy at all that now have an outlet for their nonsensical bullshit on the internet.

Really, just ignore them and rest easy knowing that most people are just regular joe's like you and me.

On the other side of that coin, while it can be really stressful while these things are happening, for the vast, vast, vast majority of us, this is just not how we're going to die. Same even goes for most of the people at the scene. Don't let fear control you.

Yeah exactly; I'm not saying to be paranoid.

Just saying to never say "This can't happen here..."; People are crazy.
