I find it interesting that in a game like table tennis, if you hit the net and it dribbles over it's common courtesy to apologize for your lucky victory but in beach volleyball it's not

I was so disappointed when i moved here as a kid and no one played basketball. You get a lot more people playing in asia even if they don't have the build for the game.

Olympic baseball was historically dominated by Cuba, since none of the other countries could send their best players because they are all playing in the MLB. Since Cubans(who don't defect) can't play in the MLB, they always had the best teams for the olympics.
If you look at the WBC, even counting each countries best players, the US winning isn't a sure thing. The US might have the most top level players, but that doesn't equated to putting the best team together for a short form tournament
Also baseball in these short tournaments can be kind of flukey. without a best of 5 or 7 format lots of stuff is just left up to chance. That's the biggest reason olympic baseball doesn't work.

Indoor Volleyball is pretty entertaining because of all the back and forths but when Beach Volleyball does it... its just awesome. 2 people running back and forth.

Watched the end of the basketball. The players must be really hurting after that. Still, to come that close to beating a team ranked 2nd in the world is a big achievement for some of those guys.

There are strategic fouls in soccer(football) all of the time, and people usually don't bat an eye.
Im as big a football fan as it comes and I have to agree, football has 0 place to complain about any kind of dramatics in sports, you would be villified by your own team if you didnt take a dive that was offered to you to get a penalty, not funny but the truth.
Pretty much every team sport ever.
