Fucking Last Story, every time I fix something I play for an hour then some other problem crops up, this time it's not letting me save...

I have never dolphined a game before. I own an awesome pc and a wii. I have come to the conclusion that I must play xenoblade, now should I go through the trouble and set up dolphin?

Another question. I will be away for 2 months, but I will be buying a new MacBook, is it a pain in the ass to set it up there, or is it a question of just partitioning a part of it into windows 7.

1) Download and Install (3 minutes)
2) Open and set Fullscreen resolution to 1080p, increase native resolution and sampling (2 Minutes)
3) Play game (Hours of bliss)

Today I received Super Mario Striker, Superstar Baseball and Golf. Just tried Striker for a few matches and it runs perfectly. :)

Its been years since I played it, feels good.

so...i just came across a leaked build of killer 7 from a year before release, but it won't boot in this. but, you understand, i have to play it and, ideally, report the results here, if i won't get the smack down. I think it might be the build that the early trailers were made from...but basically, there's no info about this anywhere and it might be really cool. Even the unseen64 article about the game is sourced from early trailers and not an actual build, iirc.

this is the first thing I've tried running in dolphin and it just gives me a black screen...is there a typical fix for this? one weird thing is that the build is supposed to be pal, but the ISO details say NTSC-U.

Try the build meant for the leaked Metroid Prime 3 build? Or otherwise make sure 128mb of ram is enable for the emulator? I think it was worked into the normal builds of Dolphin, but I dont know how it works. The idea being that if it was in development, it likely has a bunch of debugging code left over. If you need any help, let me know.

i will look into that tomorrow, thanks!

Has anyone tried using their rMBP with Dolphin? Might give it a go later tonight but I'm not hopeful I'll get playable speed.

EDIT: Nevermind - there's literally someone talking about it on this very page..

So gaf, I know cpu is more important when it comes to emulation, but will I see any benefits if I upgrade my gpu to HD79xx from HD6870? cpu is 2500k.

Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex in my mailbox today.

Ripped it.

Works good, some slowdowns here and there (but I blame my ultra high settings).

The game, meh, not as I remembered, feels better playing #1-2-3 on PSX. Still better than what came after.

Tried some out last night and speed wise it ran flawlessly. Very impressed as my previous laptop ran it in slow motion.

Boom Street (aka Fortune Street) seemed locked to 30fps which is fine but it had some minor graphical glitches on the character models - might have to have a tinker with it to get working fully.

Skyward Sword got stuck at asking for a motion plus but I hadn't hooked up any of my controllers to the Mac yet. Is it just a simple matter of pairing a Wii motion+ and nunchuk via bluetooth and running Dolphin to get it going?

Wrath of Cortex GC was a bad port, the framerate constantly fluctuated between 60 and 30 on the GC while the PS2 was pretty much a constant 60. Of course, on the PS2 you had to deal with minute-long load times...

I've tried Metroid Prime for GC and the game has a very bad framerate and no music (only sound effects). Some advices to make it works better?

My PC Config:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz overclocked to 3.2 Ghz, 4 GB ram, Ati Radeon 6750 1GB DDR5

I was coming into this thread to see if there's been any improvements in running this game via Dolphin. Not looking good I suppose. :(

I have this preordered and honestly have no interesting in playing it unless I can with Dolphin. Worth getting, or should I wait it out?

Guess I could keep playing Xenoblade Chronicles until there's a permanent solution. :p

I've been following Dolphin for a while now, but only since it is in the near future I may finally get myself a desktop to run it (I doubt my laptop is anywhere near capable of meeting the minimum requirements), can any of you guys recommend Gamecube USB adapters or controllers on the cheap (relatively speaking)? I was checking out the blissbox, but even if I got 4 gamecube ports, it only works for one player, and I'm not up to spend $35 per box for a single port each.

I saw another little box on ebay that seemed really worthwhile, 2 controller ports on one USB adapters, but there was a warning on the bottom of the page saying that it doesn't work with Wavebird controllers. I lived in a house with rabbits (may they rest in peace), and they made sure I went all wireless. Even the one gamecube controller I have wired that mostly works, they chewed the cable just enough to kill the Z button.

Is there anything else anyone was using, or should I just go for the ebay adapter and hope to find 1st party gamecube controllers for cheap?

Honestly, you may want to consider to use your Wiimote for Wii Games that require it, but when it comes to Gamecube or Wii games using the classic controller, the typical Xbox360 gamepad (which is also the "standard" gamepad for Windows) is more than suited for the task.

Wii/GCN games on Steam WITH Overlay

First thing you have to do is add the Dolphin emulator to the Steam library as a Non-Steam game.

Next you go into the properties of the emulator through Steam. Just right click it in the Steam menu then click on "Properties"

Where it says Target change it to something similar to this:

"E:\Dolphin\Dolphin.exe" /e "F:\Gamecube\Double Dash.iso" /b

The first part is the location of the application for your emulator. The /e lets the emulator know to run this .iso when it starts. The second file location is the .iso you want the emulator to run and the /b closes the emulator when you exit the game.

After doing all that the game should work perfectly with Steam!

To do multiple Wii games on Steam simply make a copy of the application (not a shortcut) and repeat the process with a separate .iso

PM me if you have any questions, I am glad to help anyone out.

Have a screenshot!

What sensor bar do you guys recommend that I get ? Any sold at EBGames that can be used with the emulator ? I'm preferably looking for a wireless one.

Quick question. Recently upgraded from an old Q6600 to an ivy bridge i5 3570k, but I still have a 6770. Games like SMG2 run mostly fine at 2x res with no AA, but there are constant moment-long chugs, especially playing with LLE (the "middle option" one) to enable background music. Is the 3570k still not quite enough for wii games at 100%, or is the less than awesome video card holding everything back?

Did you overclock it?

If its the momentary stutter I get when I play, I don't know the fix :-/. I get that a lot in Skyward Sword when I attack an enemy for the first time, and at random times (not that often) in xenoblade. Maybe RAM limitation? I have 4GB DDR2. You might want to overclock your 3570k if you haven't already.

Haven't overclocked the 3570k (or the 6770), and I have 16gb ddr3 so that shouldn't be an issue for a long while lol. CPU is 3.4 with 3.8 'turbo' so I was hoping it'd be enough without needing to overclock, but I guess there isn't any real reason not to. I know it won't be very much but I need to see how far I can safely push it with stock cooling.

You don't really ever want to be overclocking a cpu on stock cooling. You'll want to push it to roughly to 4.5ghz I'm guessing which will warrant the $$ spent on a good cpu heatsink or water cooling. That said the gpu is still the weak point in the chain.

Screenshots, man!

Press the Print Screen key, it's usually next to F12.

Open Paint or some other image editing application, and press Paste. Your image should appear. Then just save it and upload the image to minus or imgur or abload.de or w/e you like.

If you want to make more advanced screen shots, you can try ShareX.

ALT+PrintScreen - captures just the active window instead of your entire desktop.

Download FastStone image viewer. Use ALT+PrintScreen to take a screen shot, open FastStone and hit CTRL+V to paste it. Then hit save. You'll have a nice, cropped, compressed (at quality 100% it will still look fine and make the file size smaller) internet friendly .jpg
