I stand still. Crouch. Aim at the head of another stationarty player, do short bursts at the guys dome. He does the same to me.

I apparently dont get his head? I know the guns have a spray pattern but shouldn't the first bullet in the spray hit the damn guy?

Not just you. However I have been getting more of the hang of it lately, but still I manage to get screwed out of a lot of kills. Mostly ones where the guy I'm shooting has a sliver a health.
They should really take the auto armor off of casual.

Imagine the inside of the crosshair area as a circle. now nestle that circle right uner their chin. No more than 2 to 3 shot burst and reset it.

If they remove armor then they have to remove grenades. Not sure what damage for nades is now, in the past it has been up to 92 damage without armor. Probably around 70 now.

I did it legit on PS3 but used this method on 360 and it worked in my first match.

Got it, it works on PS3. I nearly had it before last night so I don't want to hear complainers about cheesing it. Such a headache. Leaves the in-air kill one for platinum. >_>

Good to hear! The platinum was quicker than I thought so I bought the 360 and will keep playing while working on the 5000 matches and 10,000 kills achievements. Kinda wish the PS3 version had those two.

Edit: I got the in air kill on Shoot. I camped in the doorway of one of the first huts and mowed down a guy trying to jump across to my side.

Default is pretty bad. I'm not sure what information it's trying to convey with it (also I'm so used to the classic).

From what I remember accuracy actually decreases for a short time while going from standing to crouching so you should wait a splitsecond before firing a single shot or a burst. Don't know if it's still true for CS:GO but it's so inherent that I don't think they would mess with it.

Bullet spread. Moving = wildly inaccurate. Standing still=Inaccurate but only slightly. Crouch moving=See standing still. Crouch and not moving = best accuracy.

It's just really complex I guess. I feel more comfortable with the classic anyways.

I don't think this is true. Crouching and standing still have the same accuracy, crouching just makes your crosshair smaller. Pretty sure it doesn't affect the recoil at all.

I belong to the Church of Valve, but Mac users are essentially one step up from the consoles. The International 2 is about to happen and we don't even get the spectator client, never mind the actual game.

yeah i just switched to macs and really thought valve would have it on par as the pc thinking "man they're amazing developers for pc", but yeah ... not really in reality. its definitely not bad, but not how they treat the PC, expectedly since its a much smaller market. Its still really bad though how I can't play a recently bought new game from them. It just came out. And its not like Macs are highly customisable, mine is the base 2nd option for 15" macbook pro newest model so how can they release a patch that breaks the game?

If you can run TF2 you can run this. If you've never played TF2 on your PC before, it's free so I would check that out first.

does this game hdd stream at all? sonic generations runs super smooth for me but when it starts to grab hdd data it drops to like 15fps for a period.

You have to crouch with the scout if it's full scoped if you want it to be 100% accurate.

Been looking forward to this game for some time now and really pleased with how it's turned out. Been playing the beta on the PC every now and then over the last month or so but bought it on the 360.

Apart from the occasional laggy server you get thrown on, the game seems to run pretty well. My only problems so far is that the "join game with friends" lobby system doesn't really work at all, it's hard to differentiate between T and CT at a distance (particularly in areas where there is a 'smoky' effect, d1 tunnels etc) and the classic (1.6/source) crosshair isn't available like it is on the PC (x360 only has dynamic or static).

Although it will take some time to get over the m4 + silencer combination; can't believe it's not in GO.

Bought it for the PC a couple of hours ago .... great game!

Runs smooth as silk and looks like a decent upgrade from CS:S.

After you die you can hit '~' to see the console, it will tell you who you shot, how many times you shot them, and how many times they shot you. I started doing that after every death when I was playing CSS and I realized that there were a bunch of times where I had put like 9 bullets into someone and done 75 damage. I basically always aim for the head now.

But I have a question. I just checked in the console and it said I did 111 damage to someone but they didn't die. Is this because of kevlar or is something definitely wrong on my end here?

Also, if I am seeing blood but the console says I did no damage, what is that indicative of?

I dunno about the second bit. But yeah, if you did 111 damage and they didn't die you're either hitting them in the knees (lowest damage rate), or they have Kevlar on and you're hitting them in the chest.

Yep, had the same problem when I set fps_max to 60. Sometimes it would be at the bottom, sometimes middle, sometimes top. I "fixed" it by setting fps_max to 61, so the screen tearing line would gracefully pass about once a second in an upward motion. It's slightly less distracting in the heat of battle, so maybe give that a shot. I really want to use vsync, but the mouse lag is too much for this game in particular.

Wow its really fun when you get a server full of cool people on 360. Played for a solid hour with the same group, and the other team was actually friendly! Starting to get my aim down solid as well.

So now I have the PC version and the console version. Didn't think I'd be getting the PC version, not sure if I'll touch the console version anymore. Maybe for achievement farm or something.

Game runs well enough on mediumish. Actually made some progress on proper aiming with a few of the weapons tonight and managed to get some headshot kills.

Do we have a GAF server or something?

I had to turn off V-Sync because there was such a bad mouse delay with triple-buffering v-sync.

I have never seen such bad mouse delay in my life, kind of disappointed in Valve.

Left 4 Dead 2 had it, and there were no triple-buffering problems in terms of mouse delay/lag.

The netcode for this game is just awful.

IF you're on a pc and not adjusting it you deserve the game to feel like crap. Look up counter strike rate tweaking find your sweet spot on every server you play.

Can't say much about dealing with this issue if you're a console player. All source games suck if you leave things at default rates.

I have the same issue. In the old versions of Counter-Strike I had to set me keyboard to English (from Swedish), but I certainly hope they have fixed that by now.

Twice now I have gotten an pure server error where it tells me one of my PAK files does not match. First time I did the check files thing on steam and that fixed it but it happened again 30 minutes later.

Checking the files again now... Someone else made a thread about the same thing in the steam forum.

Got this for the 360. The game has so much lag I can't even move across the map. I have no issues with other games.
