Preeeeetty much. The whole time aspects screams Dragon Quarter more than VP, but it does. And I liked DQ, so I don't mind!

At least this won't be ruining any character designs like DQ did to Nina... I hope.

According to Adriasang, the trailer shown was an alpha version and had Lightning fighting a Behemoth, paradigm shifting.

That's because the gameplay elements sounds neat and cool. The fact that it's in the XIII universe/world disappoints her.

Haven't heard any recent reports about how XIII-2 sold, so maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'm so fucking done with the entire XIII universe. The world, the characters (including Lightning) just sick to death of it. Will take a lot for me to gain any interest in this.

I don't think I ever was hyped for Versus personally. I was hyped for FFXIII-3 until now though. I need much more information than what we got so I can start riding Lightning hype train again. I don't mind the name (Lightning Return is kinda cool) but...wtf is this new world?

Cool. I'm kind of intrigued then.

In the gameplay systems.

Not Lightning. I'll just pretend she's Link or something. If only they let you select between characters or something. *shrug*

Well, the world and that characters (excluding Lightning) are apparently new, so..

Yes I know. This scares the living crap out of me. It's saddening because i feel like the gameplay ideas are great. They need more time to iron this stuff out possibly and make it a very well-crafted game.

Less than 1 year? I'm very weary.

Preeeeetty much. I like Lightning just about as much as I like the other FF mains, but not so much to the level that SE thinks we do, lol.

I'd be more interested if it was a Lighting/Noel tag team, if just so they can put the best character that's come out of this whole saga to good use.

It's weird, I read some details and they sound kind of interesting I guess. But I'm at the point where I honestly have ZERO interest in playing anymore 13 games that aren't versus.

This whole thing reaks of a different team developed (at least partly) at the same time as XIII-2, with that team jumping on in the end. Not to say it will be bad, just seems like thats the way it went down.
It should br interesting to say the least. Their wording makes me feel like a XIII-3 is still coming.

My problem with this game is with two things. One is that it's associated with XIII. I don't want it to be in the XIII universe. The gamplay sounds amazing. Make this something entirely new. Come on.

Second thing: dev time. I've said it before so I'll say it again. 1 year dev cycle sounds bad but when you're doing something like going from XIII to XIII-2, it's not that bad. Actually if this game was going to be very similar to XIII-2 then I would not mind the 1 year dev cycle. THIS GAME HAS VERY NEW GAMEPLAY MECHANICS. To create them, implement, and execute it to a very good degree takes time, time longer than 1 year. There's no way this game is coming out before August. I expect Q4 2013.

As opposed to what, development time like XIII or XIV?

I'll take the XIII-2, I'd rather have them with a plan and rushing a project without over thinking it, because that seems to prompt better results for sure at this point.

Gotta admit the 1UP article has me interested - I need to see more. Of course, XIII-2 also had me hyped up to its release and I ended up skipping that. Hope this game actually turns out well for once.
