RESIDENT EVIL 6 |OT| No Trope Left

I also should mention I think the arenas were made bigger for (here comes people complaining) the DLC modes. Things like Versus Mode, Ustanak Mode, Siege Mode, and the likes. Pretty sure (though not certain) those will use the same stages, so I'm guessing they were designed with them all in mind.

Its a shame mercenaries, a big part of recent mainline RE's, will suffer because of this. Looking at that RE5, you can see how almost immediately you are being attacked by 3 or 4 enemies at once.
In the RE6 video, you actually have to look for the enemies yourself most of the time. Bigger maps and what appears to be less enemies, i don't know...

Heads up for people dl RE6 via psn especially plus users

20$ off if you buy 100$ content next month on psn.

So you can get RE6 for 43$

Cool deal i guess

I guess this option would cheaper for me

Source on this? where did you see it? does it also apply to EU?

I actually ran out of enemies in Re5 with 1+ minute left on the clock. I was like.... wut.

That's not what I meant. Still sounds kind of fun though. And Dusk Capcom did mention "one more mode" when everyone (including me) was thinking the 3 modes announced were on the disc.

EDIT: After talking about the other modes he goes on to say there is another mode, already on the disc, that is a mix of existing data and newly downloaded data:

Oh, that's interesting. There were two things unknown on the demo files, which were Last Stand and No Hope. However, though I cannot say for certain, I am speculating No Hope is an unlockable difficulty level. Professional in this game seems like Veteran in RE5, and is unlocked from the beginning so I'm guessing No Hope is an unlockable difficulty level.

I wonder if Capcom will be lazy and just put out RE5 maps for Mercs as DLC.

It KIND OF makes sense - since these will be maps people love and subsequently WANT to purchase, and of course there's that nostalgia to it too.

Pueblo from RE4, for example.

No that's Naughty Dog's domain.

*grumble grumble* Uncharted 3 DLC *grumble grumble*

oh I will.

Seriously, it's the best when Helena joins in to do the thumbs up action as well. I feel like I'm in the PS1 era all over again.

You guys realize that this animation can be done while you're running/gunning as well, right? It doesn't look nearly as stupid when you're not just standing still.

This game is going to be the John Cena of RE games.

Polarizing as fuck, booed by older vets of the RE series, cheered by the little kiddies (people new to the RE lineage), doesn't sell anything but RE merch.

I'm an older vet and want to play it. Guess I'm an exception to that theory.

Been here since Resident Evil 1 on the PSOne, and I'm 22 (not sure if that's your definition of "kiddy" or not).

so is this one of those meltdowns where many people are voicing opinions (sometimes from others) as fact [such as they f'd up mercenaries or only kids new to the series will enjoy it] when they haven't played it?

PS: I know some have played it, but they don't seem to be as "definitive" on claiming about how bad it is.

But I'm an old wheel-chaired graybeard RE vet and I'm looking forward to it.

I really don't know anything about Cena either other that he's in wrestling. DDP for life!

The DEMO THREAD is pretty much THAT.

It definitely needs Pueblo and Public Assembly.

Just played the demo... am I meant to feel a numbing sense of averageness?

Actually no. Initial disquiet at how different it is that settles in to either Disgust at the moral decline of kids today or Intrigue if the new systems are worth something seems to be more common.

I really love what they did with Jake and Sherry's music in this game. All of the campaigns have good music, but theirs is standing out to me. Sort of a jazzy/rock hybrid that's cheesy, but catchy and appropriate for their campaign. A perfect example this is this song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYd8GuhT5UI

(Again, no spoilers in the link. Though I will say the gameplay moment this plays in is completely ridiculous.)

I like how the style of music is different for each campaign to help give the feel of individuality, and Jake's and Sherry's may be my favorite. Just wait until you all hear Jake's credit song.
It's a callback to the cheesy guitar rock songs that used to play at the credits of old RE games.

Feel whatever you want. I quite enjoyed it.

I don't see why they should bother porting any RE5 maps over to RE6 when I could just pop in RE5 and play that map with Jill effing Valentine.

'Cause there's no LEON KENNEDY or ADA WONG in that game. Also Ada >>>>>>> Jill....Jilluminati come at me.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Lo a noob question, but how do you do the thumbs up?

Hold "O" (PS3) or "B" (360) and the press the corresponding direction on d-pad. (if you have "icons off" you will not see these commands when holding the face button)

I am hoping they pull some of the monsters from the campaign more though. There's actually a really good variety of monsters in the campaign, I think there may be more types of monsters in this game than any other RE game.
That's one thing that got me excited. I played through all three demo levels and the amount of enemies seems like it's going to be one of RE6's selling points. I'm honestly super excited for Tuesday as I want to know if this is merely a Capcom game that grows on you ala both Lost Planet games or something that's truly terrible. My time with the demo makes me think the former.

All these new mechanics and people are still playing it like it was RE4 with a quick shot button added...., oh well.

You're watching a Mercenaries video. You can try playing through the campaign like it's some sort Gears knockoff, but Mercs actually requires you to play the game correctly if you want a high score. Which means breaking all the time bonus pillars, using your bullets to set up stuns, and killing with melee and counters for score bonuses and +5/+10 time extenders.

If he wasn't playing the game optimally, he wouldn't have killed all 150 enemies on that map and finished with 1 million + in points and gotten an S Rank. Hiding behind cover and sliding around the map doesn't increase your score or give you any extra time. It hasn't changed since RE4, which is why it looks like RE4.

For the record I'm just very worried about the direction the series has gone recently. I need to see the dank back in this series...

I'm waiting for the definitive list of melee attacks. I'm still confused on the matter. I've been told both there are combo attacks and there are not (I haven't been able to recreate them). Also I want someone to spill the beans on the skill system.

Yes. I wonder if the game would benefit from a style meter like in Devil May Cry to encourage people to use ALL the new mechanics.

Perhaps, but what it and every other game needs are enemies which explicitly force you to use them.

I wonder how the Los Jilluminados will react when they discover Jill is probably not in this game.

I am extremely tempted to pick up a 3DS XL just to play Revelations. I also fully intend to replay REmake once I can pick up my GameCube games from back home. We don't really suffer from a lack of Jill Valentine when it comes to RE games.

If it means anything, there are enemies (mainly bosses) that makes use of the moves you have in RE6.

Also I want to mention the boss battles in this game are probably the most dynamic in the series... and there's a lot of them.

DT aside, DMC doesn't have a system that requires you to monitor your meter. Besides, how would it work? You get a bonus for staying in cover a random number of seconds?

Pfft I hardly expect to use cover when I play RE6. Maybe if I decide to play on Pro and it is required to survive, but otherwise nope.

This. I'll only use cover if it's absolutely necessary. I like being in their faces when they're not using guns and stuff.
