Apparently the lady I spoke to at target yesterday was mistaken. They only got 8 Wii Us, not 32. Seems like everywhere I called they only got a shipment of 4 or 8. That seems small but I don't know what the usual is. It seems like a super walmart in the city of denver should get more than 4.

In anycase it seems pretty clear this thing wont be available to buy today for anyone that didn't preorder. No biggie since the launch lineup isn't the hottest, but knowing Nintendo there will not be a price drop for a very very long time, so I figured if i was going to get one, why not get it sooner than later.

Oh well. Get to save my money for now.

Seems the opposite from what everyone else is saying.

I left Best Buy about 15 minutes ago and they had 2 of each model left for walk ins (this was 45min after opening) after accounting for those in line (about 5 people then). Reading this thread and people leaving empty handed seems strange one of those your mileage may vary instances.

The odd part is there was a shady guy lingering about. The clerk kept asking him to leave, but he kept saying, "what the fuck, I'm just looking at controllers." Security then came by. I'm not sure I get what he was doing, he already had a Wii U, but the clerk kept saying, "I know what you're up to." Odd.

So just now, on a whim, walked into the micro center in Cincinnati. They still had 3 deluxe systems in.

So without really planning on getting one, I know have a new deluxe Wii U, new Mario, and Zombie U.

I will say this... I'm loving my new universal remote. Moving up and down on the menus is much faster on the controller than my universal remote which is all sorts of terrible.

Once TVii comes out, I could see that alone as a reason to regularly turn on the system.

So does Nintendo just know if you're using a Deluxe model, do you just need to sign up for for a NinID with the deluxe or is there a code?

I'm curious if you could sign up on a Deluxe then switch to Basic later on and keep the rebate program.

Hmm, good question. It could be possible and sounds plausible, but it's probably more hassle than it would be worth.

I'm sure some brave internet soul will attempt it though.

Considering there are 1600 currently on ebay alone at the moment, I don't see value rising for a few weeks on these. Maybe once they sell out and we hit that window of no systems for a month then maybe good profit can be made. Too many idiots assuming that they would be OOS everywhere immediately and would double their money on day one. I have a second deluxe coming soon but I'm holding off til December to even think of selling it.

Update on my broken unit. Was able to get it exchanged at a different Best Buy and have it home up and running now! Best Buy's customer service counter has also come a really long way since last I needed to deal with them for anything other than price matches. Very smooth and easy exchange not the old Best Buy customer hostile experiences I recall.

you can use either download cards or if you use credit cards, you can purchase the exact amount you want

I had my USB hard drive connected while setting up the system initially, and it was part of the set up process. My drive is already fat32, and it "formatted" my 500gb hard drive in less than 5 seconds

Didn't experience that issue.

You could just sell Nintendoland on Amazon or ebay for $40 (quick sale), then you only have to make up about $20 worth of points Plus you'd still get all the rest of the nice extras.

What the hell. My system is stuck in some limbo shit. Controller is trying to get data and can't for the update so it sits on a loading screen forever and nothing happens. Turning off the controller, system.. Nothing works. When they power back on they go right back to e same screen. I hate system updates.

I got about 90% through with the update download when I got disconnected because of a server error. Before I launched in full rage mode, I went back to the system update screen to see if it would restart my progress or not. It didn't, i started right where I got disconnected. Although now it seems to have stalled again.

Does your TV have 1:1 pixel mapping? If not, Nintendo just didn't design the menus very well to accommodate TVs with overscan.

MiiVerse and eshop have a settings menu in app that allow you to resize. You have to do it for both. Stirs affected me too.

Check your TV settings, usually there is an option for "full screen" "stretch" or "native". Select "native" (you'd have the same cut-off issue for hooking up a PC to it)

Not sure why by default TVs want to cut off the edges of video... that hasn't made since everything went digital and only causes the image to be not rendered natively.

Not sure if it's been posted or not, but I just answered my own question of whether or not audio from the Component(or composite) cable will work alongside video out from the HDMI. No Go. HDMI being plugged in appears to disable the other port completely.

The best is to wait till after Black Friday and sell it there. If not, just return for a refund. Average profit on completed auctions is around $100.

That's both disheartening and encouraging. At least you don't have to start downloads over... about 60% done myself now, hope it doesn't freeze on max.

Got back from BB. They had 10 extra deluxe systems, and those were bought within 10 min of the store opening. As for the basics, well, they're still there, but the ones who got to BB late decided to buy some of the extra 10 basic sets they had. The rest of what the store had was for preorders.

Well, got my system this morning (Deluxe, all of which were accounted for by preorders, of course), in the process of setting it up. Yay!

My wife offered to give my Wii and some of my Wii games to my brother-in-law for his birthday today (how generous of her...), so, will do a system transfer once that's done, and then have to go over there for a couple of hours later today. Blah.

But, hey, WiiU. Yay!
