Yeah, licensing contracts usually cover the distribution platform, so if the Vita wasn't in the original plans, including the VF trio likely means TK forking over some more cash.
This should only sligthly mess with story mode (I wonder if Akira and Sarah's scenes will simply be removed or actually replaced with something new...), but it really makes me wonder about extras...
Akira, Pai and Sarah replaced with Tengu, Leon and Momiji.
Obviously.
Rio?
Aha! No love for her? She must be tired of beaches and blackjack! Let her fight!
I never played Paradise, but from what I saw, her design was really out of place. She was cartoony even by the old DOA standards.
I'd much sooner see Momiji.
they showed off DOA5 running on Vita.
Hard to tell because of shitty video quality but it seemed it was really good.
It was still development version so they said it was only near 60fps.
Where? You have a link?

really bad quality video.
Ugh, don't remind me.I just hope that saves can be exchanged with the PS3 version. I really don't want to unlock Lisa's swimsuit again. Hoping for cross compatible dlc too.
I think I have a magic touch. Before last TGS, I asked for the following games:
UMvC3
PSO2
DOA5
And now we have them all. Any other ports you guys want?
EDIT: Just noticed, there's only 22 character slots. DOA 5 has 24 characters.
Three of the twenty-four are Virtua Fighter characters. Remove those, you get twenty-one. Add Toro or some Sony exclusive and you get twenty-two.
Still want cross-play/cross-buy, Tecmo. :|
So them removing the VF characters and throwing in Leon (Bayman reskin for maximum laziness), Raidou, Tengu, Genra, or Rachel or Momiji from Ninja Gaiden seems likely.
Smaller character roster is disappointing. Twenty-two slots, and one likely reserved for random, probably means no added characters.
I thought he console version only showed 22 slots until you started unlocking additional characters, didn't it?Smaller character roster is disappointing. Twenty-two slots, and one likely reserved for random, probably means no added characters.
Looks like you're right. Hmm, then all our fears might be unfounded (so far).I thought he console version only showed 22 slots until you started unlocking additional characters, didn't it?

They already announced new content (first-person mode). It's not like UMvC3 added any new characters or stages, and its added content was just as insubstantial as what they've announced for this so far.Btw guys Sony doesn't allow for a late port on their hardware unless you add in new content. So there's definitely going to be bonus character or stage.
Yeah, the eyes also have a more "painted on" look like the pre-DOA5 games. Not that I mind - I'm still a fan of that art style. So it looks like the character models have carried across, but unsurprisingly, the shaders haven't. It seems insane that I'm a bit disappointed, because it still looks amazing for a handheld game, but Kasumi looks so bizarre without the fancy skin shader from the console version.
I'm expecting more than what we've heard so far, because NGS2+ is still having new characters and modes announced for it, and that was revealed long before this game. Just not expecting any new stages, though.

The game was announced in September around TGS, but we didn't know about Ninja Race until November and Hero Mode until December. No it's not. It's just got that crappy tag mode, which is just a cheap compensation for the shat AI in mission mode from NGS2.

So there's still hope.
It was a launch game. Different circumstances. After what NGS+ 'added', I have zero hope of any new content. All they did was remove some costumes, add in the NG3 costume and Hero Mode (Which I never used, obviously), and called it a day.
