I've tried there (the Governor's Mansion) as well. The dudes will come out instead of forming a firing line. Unless you mean go to that lower corner.

I guess Sony really does copy Nintendo.

Anyone having a lot of trouble with NEAR lately?!
I swear it used to work probably 4 in 5 attempts before, but now (and maybe coincidentally) since 2.01, it almost literally won't connect at all. I think I've been able to refresh NEAR and update my location once.
I still seem to receive Game Goods (currently getting challenges in WipEout and such) overnight, but whenever I boot NEAR up to respond to said challenges, or update the location, it fails.
All my options are enabled correctly, permissions right etc. Any ideas?

Didn't one of the designers say that each time you boot it up, that 'page sliding' means another chapter of your life begins, like it's a book; hence, Vita=Life, or am I mistaken it for something else?

relax. it was something cool I hadn't noticed before and just wanted to point out. Since the N64 boxart reminded me of the Vita OS I thought maybe it would be interesting to others as well

Somehow I got one. I can't get Aveline to grab them, or even attempt to grab them. To where they get shot in the back on their own. :/

Started on the HD/Fury campaigns yet?
I was amazed just how much I've gotten into it after having very little interest (and not really "gelling" with the WipeOut style of racing) on the PS3.
2048 is beautiful though, looks so much better than the HD/Fury stuff. Sol course = godly.

You have beat xxxx's time, send challenge over NEAR. Oshi sent me one the other night for one of the class-C time trials; first I'd seen of it too.
When someone has their sight set on you and is in firing position then press the button (I can't recall which button, I think triangle)
X, and got another (I think, stats aren't updating) but grabbing others among the crowd is impossible. Aveline won't grab them at all despite me waiting for the triangle to show up to grab them.

Why woul you want it for $25? IIRC Portable Ops+ is just online stuff and then a graphics novel... Seems overpriced to me at least.

... if I go through with the final areas, will the game allow me to finish the challenges and stuff post game or do I have to do it now?
The only one I know of that is in question is PC and that's a question of "how long after the console patch?" normally.

You should be good. I had to go back after I beat the game to beat challenges and side missions that I didn't complete before.
The game allows you to choose to do the challenges (and other things) post game i.e. they can be done anytime you choose.

yo isn't it so awesome we get those campaigns for free if we hv the PS3 ver.? so stoked for holidays so I can get started on those.
I feel like wipeout plays so much better on handhelds than consoles.

Could just be that, or maybe I didn't give it enough time originally before giving it up, but it's just clicked now and I can't stop playing it.
Altima is terrible (or rather I'm just terrible at it). I feel like it doesn't flow at all though. That last Combat event at Altima in the 2050 season was tough to Elite Pass.
I just got my Vita on Black Friday and downloaded Wipeout from PS Plus. When I went to dl the PS3 campaigns it seemed to suggest that I needed to purchase the Online Pass for them to work. Is this the case?

You still have me on most of the Zone and Combat events, I'm terrible at the Zone Events. I have been using that Combat Prototype ship lately though, that thing is incredible. Have to revisit some events with that!
You unlocked all the Prototypes yet? Think I've only got two - going to have to look up the unlock requirements.
when I had a PS3 I only enjoyed unlocking new ships/skins in HD/Fury and the racing didn't appeal to me very much. but then again, I'm not much of a racing fan. prior to wipeout the only racing games I rmmbr playing are GT5 Prologue and mario kart 64 lol.
I think it's great on the Vita because I can play it in extremely short bursts. but on my PS3 I'd rather play something I can really sink my teeth in... but I don't have a PS3 right now.
playing combat online is the funniest though. no one really races; the gamemode ends up just being jousting back and forth with multiple ships floating over yellow pads where everyone just hope to get quake.
edit: got the third one... lol n zones tire me out. imo it's the worst part of the game. since tests your racing consistency it gets frustrating once you hit A+/Mach 1... that Mach 1.5 trophy is gonna be balls.

I think that was pretty much the same for me too. Loved the concept, the ship designs and even the tracks, but the appeal of the racing never really sunk in.
Haha awesome! I haven't been online with it yet (probably should though).
I think the furthest I've gotten has been Mach 1.2, so yeah, I can't imagine getting to Mach 1.5, that'll be ridiculous and probably something I'll never achieve.

Yeah, that part I knew... I've already gotten all the rare Nevi trophies and the lost couple trophy (and gold cleared all the challenges in the village warp)... I was going to finish up the game before I did the rest of the challenges for trophies, but when I got the standard "finish up your shit, because it's about to get real" warning, it made me want to double check with others before I did something to fuck up my chances of getting my platinum. Time to beat the game, I guess. Thanks!
whatever PS1 games you have on PSN will work on the Vita as long as the title is compatible with the Vita.

PS1 games are supported (yes, games that you already own). I play in Japan where pretty much everything ever for PS1 is supported, so I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure North American and European support is good.
I know FF9 works for sure.

Or in some cases, you have to download them on PS3 (do not install) and transfer them using CMA while they are still in bubble form.
I have bubbles for the 4 Crash games and the 2 R-Types waiting for compat to update. >_<

I just want to try the games as i've missed out on them since I was never a psp owner. I thought the digital novel looks pretty damn cool and I imagine it would look better on the Vita screen.
Its definitely overpriced which is why Konami/Sony needs to fix this shit. I would have impulse bought it earlier today, but alas I see my backlog and my wallet rationally now. I just started MGS2vita which will do for now.

Yoshida-san is on planes all the freakin' time. He probably did that during 80+ flights hours and time spent in hotels while his wife and kids were back in Japan.

In regards to fighters, what is the consensus between Tekken x SF or Mortal Kombat?
For background, Ive never been very good at fighters, but I have tried them. I couldnt get into UMvsC on Vita because it felt so static and barebones (if that makes sense). Also, I prefer some sorta of plot and narrative to help keep me moving along...even if its too over the top and makes no sense (think: Dissidia or DefJam). I just want a sexy looking, and fun and easy to get into fighter game, with an insane story and sense of humor.
Suggestions?

I am on crushing so one screw up fails it. I find the fight to be very easy for for some reason it isn't recognizing one motion. At the point towards the middle/end of the fight when you have to swipe West-North in one motion, then after than West-South, for some reason everytime I fail the West-South swipe. I have tried at least 15 times and have no beat this part once. Is there some trick to this one particular swipe? Any thoughts?
