Rayman Legends coming to Xbox 360/PS3, all versions releasing in September

With no solid release dates for Bayo 2 or W101 yet my Wii U purchase is nowhere in sight. Wouldn't be surprised if I'm playing PS4 before Wii U. Sad.

Anyways I'm super pumped for this game. Sequel to the best 2-D platformer since Yoshi's Island.

Wow, what a(nother) terrible sign for third parties' confidence in Wii U. I never really expected it to stay exclusive, but a seven-month delay for the likely-complete Wii U version strongly suggests that Ubisoft is not at all happy with how their launch software has performed.

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
Why fuck them for releasing an amazing game that more people can play now?

Because the game is done. It was done last year, yet they delayed it to February, and now NOBODY can play a game (that was done in 2012) until September 2013. I could give a shit less if it is ported, I just want to play it in three weeks like I was expecting to.

Multiplatform was always expected, but fuck Ubisoft for keeping a finished game away from the console it was meant for.

"[the delay is] really about the fans. It’s really about having a very interesting universe, a mix of craziness and poetry mixed all together. We are very happy that we can bring that to many, many Rayman fans and the more we can, the better.”

AHAHAHAHA fuck you very much

So how about all them Wii U games. The delay fucking sucks i just downloaded the demo last week smh

So the WiiU version is ready but was delayed just because of other fans? What about the fans that are eagerly waiting to buy it this month? That just Bullcrap!

Maybe they will take out the touch screen nonsense in the WiiU version?

Really, now I'm just hoping for a Vita announcement. Origins was fantastic on Vita.

Unfortunately for Nintendo, this probably means I'll be getting Legends on a non-Nintendo platform. What a lost opportunity for them.

This really makes no sense. Great that more people get to play it on the end, biut it is absolutely mind numbingly stupid to delay the Wii U version. Besides the beast that is GTA, I'm sure other big games will release in September too. Ubisoft hitting that crack pipe real hard.

God damnit. I was really looking forward to this too.

Eh, maybe it's just because I'm a happy-go-lucky upbeat guy in general, but the way I see it, the vision for the game changed (motivated by sales, sure, but regardless), so now they're just executing on a different vision, which presumably holds up the WiiU version for parity's sake. Reasonable enough.

I'm a WiiU owner who was anticipating this, but if it means more people get to play it, fine by me. Plenty to play between now and then.

Really, this happens a lot for every system when they are released. The difference here is that the first-party support is real low.

And maybe because the games that are listed as exclusive are being released on other consoles so quick-like that I'm losing reasons to buy a Wii U.

This just went from a Day 1 WiiU purchase to a sale purchase on the 360, of which I have 2 systems and 4 controllers.

Sorry WiiU! Blame Ubisoft! I was going to buy it, honest!

Yeah that sentence explains NOTHING about the delay, he just said some gibberish bullshit about monsters and universes.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
Do they sign contracts for these kinds of exclusivity deals or what? Or was this just an implied exclusivity that Ubi backed out of easily?

Its quite amazing, that Ubi was WiiU's strongest third party supporter by a mile, and now they've taken a game that is absolutely ready to ship and stuck it on a dusty shelf for 8 months. Incredible.

We don't know it was done, do we? I mean we thought it was, but who fucking knows anymore. I was really looking forwards to playing it too, and I'll still enjoy it in September, and the more the merrier...

but yeah... I really hate when a game gets substantially delayed by months only three weeks before the officially announced release date.

that's what I really hate.

Ouch, this sucks for people who used this as a reason to buy the WiiU

I will still probably get the Wii U version, and admit this was a large reason I was willing to get one around launch. I don't understand why this particular version is delayed though, less than 19 days from release. Releasing it in September up against a huge release seems like Ubisoft keeping tradition alive.

At least everyone on the major platforms gets to play it... when they pick it up for $30, $20 in November. :lol

The Wii U version is probably done and sitting on a shelf somewhere.

How frustrating.

I knew it was going to be a game I'd buy in March but it depends on how much other stuff is coming out in September. If it has significant competition, might just wait for the inevitable bomba price.

Yeah, I already have this pre-ordered in full at Game Stop. Now I'll just transfer that to Monster Hunter and pick this up when it hits $20. There will be too much other stuff to play by the time this finally comes out.

Well it seems that Nintendo can't catch a break these day !

Game journalists, internet boards, sales.... It's seems like we didn't have a day without a bad news since E3 2011 :'( #sadpanda

This is terrible for the WiiU. The console really needs games nowadays.
A lot of gamers expected this game in march.

This happened because even Ubisoft is thinking that releasing only on Wii U is more than profitable, especially after sales figures of Wii U till now.

Fuck Ubisoft for delaying this until September. The game deserves to do even worse now for making Wii U owners wait almost another 12 months.

Despicable!

Who are these "many, many" fans? Origins was a sales disaster and sold for less than $20 within a few weeks. This whole thing just doesn't make any sense.

This just went from my "full price day 1" list (since I'd like something for my Wii U now) to my "I'll just wait for $20 again" list.

Why fuck them for releasing an amazing game that more people can play now?

People aren't mad of the game going to more platforms. People are mad because the Wii U version has been finished well before the Wii U was even released. It was delayed to not be overshadowed by New Super Mario Bros U, and now it's literally being delayed for other versions. This game has been finished for months.

The number of people upset at losing exclusivity are likely dwarfed by the number upset at the 3 week -> 7 month delay.

If the game is not done, Ubisoft had to have known in December when they delayed it that it would not be done by the time it needed to go gold.

It seems like the absolute best case scenario here is that they've been lying through their teeth instead of just deciding to fuck everyone on a whim.

Are you fucking kidding me. This game was, at some point, going to land on other platforms. I think we all knew that. But to delay the Wii U version? That's some bullshit.

^this

This game was (almost) the main reason I bought a WiiU. My wife and I played ROrigins coop all the way to the end and were expecting this one. The demo left a negative impression on us since one needs to play "exclusively" on the GamePad. If the PS360 versions enables "full" coop, we'll go for them instead of being stuck with the GamePad.

The delay sucks as well.

I'm glad that it's hitting other systems, as that's how it should have been, but I'm guessing ubi just delayed it out of a purchase from me. Day 1 in Feb, but Sept? I'll probably just wait till it gets to 20 bucks now. Pity.

Who gives a shit really? If it lands on more platforms, that's fine. People already have the chance to play it.

This however...this shit feels more like consumer betrayal more than anything else. This game was coming in a few weeks man. I was REALLY looking forward to this holding me off till Monster Hunter. Now September? I may not even give a shit then depending on surrounding software releases.

Fucked. Up
.

Honestly, I doubt I'll be getting it in Sept. I had already paid off my pre-order for it and will be cancelling that now. By the time Sept comes around I'm fairly certain there will be a ton of other games that will have my attention before a Rayman title. Depending on when the Next Gen systems release and what else is being released I likely won't get it....at least at launch and on Wii U.

Edit

This. I am glad it's coming to other systems, but I am upset that Ubisoft had to know months ago and waited till a mere few weeks before release to announce it. Mainly though, there will simply be other games and Next Gen systems or around the corner, or out (doubtful they are out tho) that will have my attention in Sept.

So it's confirmed the Wii U version is now delayed til September?

Who delays a game 8 months right before it's release date? Especially a game that even has a playable demo already out? The game was done.

This is fucking strange.

Well there goes the only Wii U game I wanted for the coming months. Hope it comes out on Vita, too. I'll just get it there if it does.

I'm going to laugh when this game inevitably bombs. Good jobs screwing it up Ubisoft!

You can't honestly believe this, can you? Really?

I honestly believe that the orginal WiiU version was already delayed before they were going to port it to the PS3/360. I think because of that delay, Nintendo said "fuck it do whatever you want" to Ubisoft. Why else would they go from (timed) exclusive too multiplat. Something must have happened.
