I think it looks pretty badass!

If that's the dev kit behind the controller, then it would appear to have usb 3.0, too.

Fucking sticks still in the wrong place, y u no learn from ergonomics overlords sony.

Wii-U-Pro-Controller1.jpg

Not being a fanboy, (almost) definitely going PS4 next gen, just really don't like DS layout of sticks.

Oh well, the added bulk probably makes it a bit more comfortable.

edit: am sorry to bitch in this awesome thread
I really like the shape of this controller but those sticks being at the top of the controller is objectively bad.

If you position your hands as if they are holding a controller and move your thumbs up and down, tell me which way is easier and provides more movement. That stick layout makes it cumbersome to reach down towards the face buttons.

I thought Share was axed? What's the deal with this? I hope it's not it sounded cool.

Hmm OPTIONS and SHARE? Might be those two things that look like buttons after all?

The whole "reserved for the system and cannot be accesed by the application", makes it sound like this information comes from dev documentation? So it might be old, it might be new. We might know everything come Wednesday.

Fake!

Looks like what I expected, a redesigned Dual Shock with front touch controls. I welcome the new dpad, analog sticks and internal microphone.
Rumors about Sony experimenting with 'lights' on the controller were true although obviously it is not a Move-like sphere attached to the controller LOL :D
I'm interested to see the ways in which this light will interact with the Kinect-like camera. Tracking the controller position seems the obvious answer but that would make more sense with a split controller so I guess there is more to it.

Everything except for this sounds great. I am not a fan of that bright ass light being on the controller at all times. Hopefully it is not what I'm expecting and doesn't stay on all of the time.

The part that goes under the top half of the device, where the analog sticks are now. The thumbs will also reach the D-Pad and face buttons. A natural configuration for games that require the use of the analog sticks a lot. What would be backwards would be if both sticks were, let's say, the bottom of the device.

They removed analog controls on the buttons? I guess if there's no BC, there's no need for it, but it seems like a strange decision.

There are probably multiple different prototypes floating around. Nothing's confirmed till they ship the console. Also, just because a share button might not be on the controller doesn't mean the functionality is gone.

Ditto. Nobody wants a big ass notification lamp. I'm still crossing my fingers that you can turn it off in the system options.

You should be able to use a DS3 for BC/ PS2 classics etc. But I'm not surprised as hardly any games use them.

Hopefully, the SHARE dream still lives!

I guess SHARE would work as a universal pause button which jumps to the share system. (PS button could kinda do that too but never mind)
OPTIONS is just a more appropriately labelled SELECT.

It should go dim at least.

R2/L2 is analog and digital at same time Definitely not final spec amd could be wrong. Especially with X A D O being digital because that will be problematic for some games on PS2 (they used analog). Also lack of miro/speaker and jack.

After hearing about share it seems like it would be crazy not to include it. It creates new ways to compete with other people and it enables users to easily spread the word about whatever games they're playing. This kind of social component is probably completely necessary from the platform holders' perspectives.

Oh man, I hope those ridges on the stick are final.

Looks pretty good, actually, a little bit beefier than a normal DS, so should be a little easier to grip.
