Destructoid: PS4 controller prototype & devkit photo, [Up: New Photo/Info In OP]

I just hope that is a touch screen and not a touch pad. I don't need a full RGB screen. Just like one of those 16 color low-res screen for basic icons and soft buttons. Would be great for games and media functionality.

Same, that gif someone made earlier looked fantastic. Just have those blue icons and such, or you can put information like video seek bar or whatever on it.

The mirror makes it look like it's changing more than it really is. The shape seems like it could be though, it's rounder and less pointed.

lol.

fanboy much?

The original PSX dual analog had longer grips and concave analogs. This looks like that controller but not as angular. Not hard to see, man:

The DS2 shortened the grips and started using convex analogs.

I'm very far from a fanboy, kid. But whatever helps you sleep at night ;)

It was never the accuracy of the motion control on the Dualshock that bothered me, it was the naturalness of holding a controller in both hands to try and achieve what the Wii or MOVE could. It's just NOT a good shape for that type of activity.

about the comparison picture: If you look closely at the picture, you will get an idea of how big the triggers are. Look at the shadowing. The triggers are elongated. The handles also appear to be thicker towards their ends, almost like they're stepped.

Oh I thought you meant in general. I think it will rival the wand technically, but isn't meant to be swung around and what not. Actions and gestures will be catered to it's form factor. Ie: turning handles like in killzone, flying ships, and other things sixaxis was meant for but wasn't technically good enough to do well. I'm very excited.

I hope there are upgraded move wands too though, but they might get backlash like Nintendo did with motion plus.

Perhaps I jumped to conclusions, I'm quite aware of that pad (tis more comfortable dual DS).

I thought I had just witnessed the birth of the next line of fanboy justification for Sony being a little like Microsoft...

Looking at your post history - you like labeling people as fanboys... you do it quite a bit. I'm sure some are justifiable - but you need to chillax. Not everyone is a fanboy, champ.

Edit:
With this - I am done with this conversation.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
I'm puzzled by why you would need a Move sensor on the regular controller.

The PS2/PS3 controller's X, O, triangle, and square buttons were analogue (layman's terms: pressure sensitive) like the triggers. Some older games used these, particularly MGS3 where lightly pressing one of the face buttons was a chokehold but strongly pressing it was a throat slit. I remember this because I had a bitch of a time adjusting when I first figured that out, haha.

Honestly, if they can the pressure sensitive buttons, my jimmies will be rustled.

Looks weird....im sure it will feel good, but that seems like a lot of stuff it does

-Rumble
-Touch Pad
-Speaker (w/ headphone jack)
-Move (how the heck do you hold the controller to take advantage of the move capabilities?)
-????

Pressure sensitive buttons are the best thing about the DS3.

360 face buttons feel like absolute crap.

The pressure sensitivity on DualShock buttons is achieved by a paper-thin overlay that measures force, which doesn't really have any effect on the way the buttons feel. That just has to do with the design of the silicon dome that completes the circuit for each button and pops back up when it's released. What people dislike about the 360 buttons is usually related to them having a longer travel distance and not returning to their neutral position as quickly, since they require less force to hold down.

I much prefer the digital buttons on the Dual Shock 1 that respond instantly to a slight touch. I own no PS3 games where analog buttons made the game better.

y'all should be ashamed
Wonder if rumble is going to be evolved any. There's some nifty new rumble tech and I wish MS or Sony would try something new.

Loving the angled sticks. Where is the options and share button? Gusssing the start button can be put on the touchpad leaving tons of room for more input options, which is excellent

Really hope triggers are changed to move styled
