Destiny Reveal Thread

The DTOID preview brought up something really awesome.

I'm already loving this world.

Players can buy spaceships that will be able to take them to different planets such as the Moon, Mars, Venus, Saturn, and more. Bungie wouldn't say if you'd be able to have space battles and such, but we were told that traveling between different planets will be fast.

I literally could not be more sold on this game. It's exactly what I wanted from Mass Effect, but it seems Bungie will be the ones to deliver.

Aw man, what. The Vidoc didn't even touch on any of the supposed groundbreaking new MMO/Social features? What the hell man?

The art looks beautiful. And I like the color palette. I guess I have nothing else to say. lol.

Meh not hyped.

The concept behind it sound cool, but this showed almost nothing, and what it did show did not look good.

4 minutes of Bungie telling us how there is no limit to their imagination and that they are doing something crazy and its going to totally be better than Halo and OMG guys we are so brave to try this revolutionary idea...of course we wont tell you one single thing about the actual game but trust us!

Pretty much, should of waited until E3 lol

I still <3 u Bungie, but gameplay details please.

MMO can mean so many different things, especially when you're talking shooters.

Seeing Marty in that ViDoc pissed me off. I've lost all respect for him because of his constant stream of uppity political tweets. Earth to Marty: All political talk is opinion. Learn to be a little more respectful with your words.

IGN stream: No PC version confirmed. Looks like I have to buy a next-gen console now.

WTF is wrong with these guys?! PC would be a great platform for this. I'd buy the PC version over all else. Did MS/Sony pay for console exclusivity? Free marketing or something.

Class based shooter.. jump in and out of peoples games, sounds like a FPS Guild Wars or Diablo. I'll definitely play that.

The graphics look Halo Reach level.. not too inspiring, hopefully there is a Durango or PC version coming.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
And just like that, any hype I had for it is dead. I dont like being forced be online (esp with my kinda shaky connection) and I always prefer to play solo anyway.

Ah well.

We knew it was a persistent online game months ago. I'm not sure why your hype only died now.

Why did they think rolling the game out like this was a good idea? My brother-in-law just texted us, "So... what was the point of that?" He doesn't follow these things closely and even he was bored to tears. It would be like Valve announcing a Half-Life 3 reveal which turned out be a video about their snack bar with voiceovers spouting platitudes.

I replied here and my post got created in another thread? :lol - Neogaf magic.

Meh..

For something that is AT LEAST a year away according to Destructoid I am definitely not seeing stuff what should keep me excited. It's Halo.. in a sort of MMOFPS jacket. Definitely not my style.

And IF this game is for next year and for the current gen consoles, they should definitely just put it on hold and release it for the next-gen consoles. I am not going to shell any more money next year on games when we are all getting excited by commercials here and there about next gen.

I'm not feeling it. Plus I've come to learn to take what bungie says with a grain of salt.

Also getting a kotor feel to it

Absolutely this. Their hyperbole is legendary, and it was in full effect here.

The entire concept is pretty much Planetside 2, only PS2 looks.....better, at least for now...

Must be crazy to plan a project spanning ten years. Looks like the are really pushing the social element of it; I'm intrigued! Some of the in engine stuff looked really good, some pretty bad, but it's a long way from being able to judge. Loving the character design though.

Edit: Space combat?! Fuck yes.

Looks rushed and unfinished, I don't expect a launch this year or even early next year and if there is one the game will probably be rushed to release with the problems entailed by that.

I guess the business model will be getting you to buy a £40 expansion pack every 2 years.

The best thing about that was the abscence of the Xbox 360 indent at the end.

:D

Edit, this was only a joke, :/ It will probably be followed by this when we find out the PS3 version is a shoddy port:

I know it's early, but the visuals don't seem to be translating from the concept art very well. Just looks really bland, and sorta....generic sci-fi. Guns, star wars looking robots, ships, and robot looking guys with hoodies on....

Um...just gonna have to wait till more is shown, I guess. Hype deflating.

I agree. Even for current gen standards this is pretty underwhelming.

I mean its kind of par for the course for Bungie right? How often have we all wish their game engines would match up to their Halo concept art?

Just not a technically efficient team.
