Man, there I have so many good memories from 1up. I remember seeing your blog posts about your game collection and being wowed at the time (I was Nintendo_Freak
back on 1up). Really sad to see this happen. Such a great community.

The 1up Show and a bunch of their podcasts was the best work by the enthusiast press at the time, in my opinion, it was probably the last stuff I would actively read, listen to or watch. Kind of just stopped paying attention when people moved on with their careers or were unceremoniously laid off.
Sad to see 1up finally give up the ghost but the end was comin', for a long time.

Sad thing is they're probably being closed for the same reason TeamXbox was: for "cannibalizing hits and regular visitors away from IGN's primary content."

The 1UP Show was the best gaming related journalism ever. They gutted that web site of all of its personalities and left a skeleton crew for it to slowly die completely out. The way that was handled was a fucking travesty.

Yup. The quality and range of content covered as well as the personalities and chemistry everyone had are unmatched. It's not even close, and that's no disrespect to any other quality gaming outlets out there.
