Devil Survivor 2 Break Record (3DS) announced

Will buy. Can't wait.

I just... I just want the action to be on the top screen this time.

I did put 80 hours into Overclocked, and boy was it good.

Glad I waited, although I'm still trying to get through Overclocked. Some of these later battles are madness, plus it's so slow paced because you have to wait for all 15 enemies on the map to use charm 3 times and then gangbang you >_> Did Devil Survivor 2 add a faster skip button?

The instrumental version is awesome.

Devil Survivor 2 had a pretty good soundtrack in general. Definitely above the first one though I like both a lot.

Yup. I have the instrumental on my iPod. The music in this game definitely wrecks the first. I like the peaceful/melancholy overworld music, and the Septentrion Map theme.

This game had a lot of characters already, I wonder how they're going to fit more in.
Maybe they'll create another team and ending?
And any word on voices?

I'm hesitant on updated remakes (I didn't get Overclocked) but I'll keep a more open mind for this one, I like Devil Survivor 2.

If they make it less tedious to get to the new scenarios in subsequent playthroughs, I'm in. I devoured Overclocked so that by the time I played DS2 I was burnt out and didn't bother going to the New Game + route.

Awesome news.

So my decision to move to a country that shares the same release market as Europe but has it's own classification system making it cost more to gain classification in that particular country is really paying off.

Least we got Persona 4 Golden I guess, I might be able to survive on that until 2020.

So is it bad that I:

1. Bought Devil Survivor and never played it
2. Bought Overclocked and eventually played it for 6-7 hours before it getting lost in the shuffle
3. Bought Devil Survivor 2 and never played it
4. Will buy this game

Though I never bought the original Devil Survivor, I'm exactly the same.

I played 70 hours or so into DS:O but haven't beaten it, and like 20 in DS2. I'll buy this game day 1 for sure despite that! I'm part of the problem. :lol

best news I've ever read while on the toilet.

felt so good earlier.

I've already pumped 100+ hours on DS2, I'm ready for another 100+ hours.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

70 hours and not beaten it? How long are these games?

70 hours without beating it seems insane unless you've been in the fusion screen for like 40 hours. I only played the original but I can't imagine the extra last day in the Overclocked version taking up THAT much time.

Devil Survivor 2 took me 25 hours for just one route and 50 to go through the game three times to get the "true" ending and beat all the optional bosses.

I bought it at release, but figured an enhanced version would happen so I held off. Also having just played Overclocked before 2's release, I wasn't feeling compelled to go back to DS visuals/audio/etc.

Fair enough, but the visuals probably won't be the slightest bit different, and much like DS vanilla, the original is still a phenomenal game.

People at the event said the stuff shown in the video was 3D, which has led to speculation that it is indeed a full remake and not just a port.

I'll be pretty shocked if that happens, and it's not just the whole game with 3D overlays(unlike DSO which just had a 3D OP).

Very unlikely. Overclocked's visuals were better and this will likely have a higher budget. The font was an improvement too.

Wait, what? Missed that detail.

I can't wait to play this on my European 3DS in early March April 2015.

Really surprised that it isn't just an uprezed version though. The series must be doing well for Atlus.

The original Devil Survivor on the ds didnt click with me. Stopped around day 2 or 3.

Now with my new 3DS, should I give Break Record a chance? Im assuming Atlus is bringing it over of course.

Why didn't DS click with you out of curiosity?

I knew skipping Devil Survivor 2 would pay off eventually. :p

Since most of the game is already translated, we should get this one fairly quickly, shouldn't we?

I think it was the battles in general. Pacing felt really slow to me and attack exchanges felt tedious. Plus iirc, i had to deal with a dumbass npc that loved running to his/her death.

Eh I might have to pass on this. The story of DS2 didn't thrill me enough that I'd want to see extra endings.

Actually most of the NPCS do well to avoid enemies in DS. But the enemies are generally focused on killing the NPC... and have insane +movement abilities. Yeah escort missions sucked. Honestly if you disliked the battles in DS you won't like DS2.

It took Atlus like five months to release Persona 4: Golden.

Though, I guess that's partially because they couldn't region lock it.

I don't think there's a big difference in battle speed, but the gameplay in DS2 is top class (even better than DS1). There are still a couple escort missions in DS2, but I never had a problem with them.

Overall, I'd say you should totally give this new game a try. Challenging, incredibly satisfying, great characters, story and music.

Hmm... I'd say the gameplay in DS2 is better than DS1 only if you do not count Overclocked. Overclocked took the best of DS2 and put it in DS1. :)

awesome news. I was very close to buying DS2 several times. I even put in an amazon order but they were out of stock for a few months. First day purchase for me

Is Devil Survivor Overclocked on the eShop? I loved the DS game, never got the 3DS version, might buy it tonight if it is there (since physical copies are a bitch to find).
