Are you serious? You don't think Keighley was in on this? Like he honestly showed up thinking he was about to do a normal interview and this weird shit just happened.

What I don't understand is that the smoking gun of Media Molecule's internal footage of Joakim being modeled using the PlayStation Move has been ignored.

to the hater speculators, just so were clear...

you can have a cg Joakim and a real life person they modeled it after who can wear a shirt and take a picture.

EDIT:BEATEN

It's like the haters never played a current gen game (Heavy Rain, MGS4, LA Noire, RE6, and other games where characters are modeled after real people) before

Oh Christ... That's so obviously CGI. Don't get me wrong it looks really good, but "Joakim Mogren" clearly exists only as a silicon-based life form. This is brilliant viral-marketing though.

let's not pretend that it doesnt look fucking good despite the smoke and mirrors.

If free speech didnt exist on the internet the only thing we would have taken away from this is why didnt they show more footage of the Phantom Pain

I believe it. The guy's lips and eyebrows have such exagerrated movement.

unless he's a reptile, his eyes shouldn't do what they did in the animated gif in this thread, very possible it was a back and forth (cg and real)
otherwise..what was the purpose of the interview? Jaded gamers.

No it does look really really good. It's very impressive. It just still has that plasticky/rubbery look of CGI and the movements looks "off". If he didn't have bandages over his face it would be a lot more obvious. The guy giving the interview looks like a real person. Joakim Mogren doesn't. Even if people weren't talking about it I'd have thought it looked funny. Even the still didn't look quite right.

No CG has ever fooled me.

That is NOT CG. Show me one piece of video that has been CG that looks like a real person. It does not exist, because as soon as they start talking/moving their eyes, it looks fake as shit.

So not CG.

I feel really bad for whoever's playing Joakim though, he's going to develop a complex from everyone on the internet telling him his facial movements are inaccurate.

Too bad its not CG, it would have been a brilliant marketing move. That guy's twitter pic pretty much closes the issue.

Instead of brilliant/odd marketing we got just a creepy weird guy with bandages trying to be smart. The internet always makes things better. Reality sucks:(

TBH the twitter picture looks like a CGI head photoshopped onto a real body. The blur helps hide this.

Hah, people really think that wasn't a real person? :O

Btw, why did Geoff let himself get used for this? Oh right, Doritos Pope...

Haha it would feel pretty shitty to have done an interview (even if you were just acting) and have a bunch of people discussing whether you were computer-generated or not because of how weird you look.

Luckily computers don't have feelings.

He will feel insecure, and never take the bandage off. He will actually start to believe that he had an accident, and he will start feeling pain.....phantom pain.

:0 !!

I'm still in the exaggerated acting crowd, but how does the second twitter pic change anything? It's not very much different from the first one (posted before the interview), so all the CG arguments should remain intact. Or am I missing something?

Nah, you are correct. The argument was never if the dude actually existed, it was is he CG'ed during the GTTV interview.

Hey guys look Commander Shepard is not CG - confirmed. Instead of something brilliant we got some guy with terrible tattoos and amazing pecs. Sucks.
