Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

So, when I try to access my MGS HD Collections physical PSVita saves from the free digital PS+ MGSHD I see them as corrupted data. Is this a known issue? Any way around it?

Thanks

Top of page edit: Sony, drop the price of EDF so that I may consider getting it already!!

I have to say that it's really tempting, i liked the game but:
a)once beaten the p4g final boss i wanto to pass to mass effect 3(i don't like playing on the ps3 anymore but i'm really curious, but i have to redownload it :( ) or to the mgs collection(i finished the download but i want something different now)
b)i should delete something and redownload shbom...
So i think i'll pass for now, any screen of the contents?

Only screenshots are in this header image on Destructoid. Looks like some stuff from past SH games is included.

Apparently there's a game balancing patch too, but I haven't seen that up for download yet.

Not only you, everyone didn't know that.

going with this kind of surprise release is crazy since they need otakus and RPG fans to know about it and,the poor game will bomb, like not just a normal bomba but it will most likely be a digital nuka bomba.

Flying Hamster HD *is* coming to NA.
I emailed The Game Atelier about it and they responded with this:

Thanks very much for your e-mail.

You just asked the right question at the right time ! Flying Hamster HD should be released at the beginning of May. We just don't have the precise release date yet but please feel free to follow us on Twitter or Facebook so you'll know it as soon as we do.

Niice.

Atelier games sells terribly anyway in the US. This stealth launch probably caused more buzz than a normal, regular release. Anyway, since I bought Rorona, like it, and not Totori and Meruru, chances are that I grab those on the Vita.

bros .. how does Tekken 6 look and play on the Vita?

It plays really well and I was surprised by how good it looks (never saw it on psp). One thing you should know is that when you suspend play by hitting the PS button, and then dive back in, it plays a bit "choppier" (like it's playing at a lower framerate). I havethe EU version, and don't know if it's just me that has that problem.

RoH: What kind of changes to the core game are coming from the upcoming patch? How many, and what concerns stated by players and reviewers are going to be addressed?

The main change is the integration of the new DLC elements, which include additional characters, costumes, weapons, artifacts, forsaken rooms, notes, accessories, etc. Pretty much every major system in the game was added to. To access those additions in your own game, you need to buy the DLC. But downloading the patch allows you to see those elements when playing in someone else’s DLC game, or when they bring those items into your game. The maximum player level has also been increased, and there are a handful of new trophies (including rewards for getting 100% light or blood notes).

Beyond DLC additions, we made a number of tweaks based on gamer reaction and our own playtesting, which add up to a slightly kinder game experience. The biggest adjustment is that when you die in a single player game now, you’re kicked back to the start of the stage without any progress loss. You’ve still dropped most of your items (as in multiplayer), but you can head back to where you died to re-collect those items. This adjustment also means no more re-loading the stage after death. Other adjustments include a retooled poison trap (it’s not a single-hit kill anymore, and its effects don’t last as long) and lots of re-balancing of elements throughout the game (such as enemy HP and damage) to iron out any problem areas.

RoH: Do any of these changes go against conscious design decisions found in the game, pre patch?

Not really. We’d always intended for the game to be tough, but never unfair. And a few of these elements (such as the poison trap) occasionally proved unfair, when coupled with other elements in the game (like being on fire). There’s a little less consequence for dying now, but ultimately that’s outweighed by the previous frustration of losing 20 minutes of progress due to one bad moment.

RoH: What can people expect to be found in the DLC? How much of this came from fans and how much were residual ideas that didn’t make the full game’s release?

It’s a pretty beefy update. We’ve doubled the playable characters, including protagonists from previous SH games (James and Heather). And there’s a ton of new weapons, artifacts, forsaken rooms, notes, accessories, and more. Many of the added items are SH fan-favorites, such as the Princess Heart abilities (all three attacks), throwable TVs from Origins, and the Beam Saber from SH3. The TV Remote is probably the most unique weapon in the game, and it’s brand new to this game. I won’t spoil its functionality here – find it and try it out!

Most of these were ideas we had during the initial game’s production. However, a lot of fan requests have serendipitously lined up with what was already planned. One of the goals with this game has been getting as much Silent Hill lore into the product as possible, and this DLC pack gets us that much closer to achieving that goal.

RoH: Has multiplayer seen any changes or tweaks?

All the adjustments and additions mentioned above are folded into multiplayer games. So as people purchase the DLC pack, you’ll begin to see more and more people using these characters, weapons, and accessories in your game. There are no specific changes to the way multiplayer functions, though.

Hey GAF I finished the journey mode in Lumines. :D Thanks to the sleep mode. I had been playing on and off for the past 2 days. The final song by Gouryella was dammn hard. Failed many times on it. But in the end the trophy was mine.

Sony should make a GoW:Betrayal remake for the Vita, the game was fun and with a few more improvements it could really do well as a PSN title.

Is the Persona 4 port/remake for Vita worth buying if I haven't played the previous ones? I heard it's got good scores.

Definitely. The story stands alone aside from some references to Persona 3 (which are unnecessary to understand the story). It's also the Vita's best game.

You don't have to know any of the previous games. The games are not connected, there are just some cameos and a little bit of fanservice.
In my opinion it is a must have for the Vita.

Alright Vita bros I need some help, I'm trying to hit the promotion for $100 since I'm at $80. I've got new little king and atelier totori in my cart any recommendations around $15-20 psp or vita doesn't matter. I've already spent $18.95 so if all else I'll just pick up a tv show rental or something.

I was thinking maybe an Y's game or tits but the two vita games should hold me over for quite sometime.

Gurumin A Monstrous Adventure ($15),it's Action RPG like Zelda, cute but challenging and with awesome story(that get darker),mixed with platforming and a very good combat system, freaking good game and look beautiful on Vita.

I'm not really into SRPGs, is it like Fire Emblem Awakening? That one I liked.

yeah i'd love to have some sprg recommendations, similar to fire emblem awakening. i played on casual and love that my characters don't die forever if they die in a battle. people might hate on me for it, but i enjoy it and would love another comparably easy experience.

Wait, my question was whether I could use Ad hoc party with Vita games. :x

Played Tekken 6. Man do I suck! I don't remember sucking so much back in the days of Tekken 3 on the PS1. :p
