My thinking is if you have subs you need something for them to battle: battleships aircraft carriers etc not just those little transport boats. Then you need deep sea dive soldiers to attach c-4 to submarine and blow it open under water. Then you need octopus to attack and sharks. Then you need Aquaman to control the fishes. The possibilities opened up by submarines are endless.

I am trying to get excited for this game but I still have BF3 untouched (360). Shame that I feel far more excited about their latest iteration of Frostbite engine than the actual game itself.

Well, we'll get a good taste of what to expect (or thereabout) for Mass Effect 4 (visually).

BF4 will be a system seller for PS4 no doubt. Especially if the marketing/trailers come from PC footage and the casuals think of it as PS4.

I just love how the sentiment is:

"FUCK YOU DICE/EA"
"OMGZ AMAZING! Take my money I don't care anymore"
including me :(

You just know they're going to do a battlefield that's like Pearl Harbour. Kamikaze jets into the other sides boats, oh yes.

I wonder how many more sequels and dlc it'll take to return to the features bf1942 + desert combat free mod had combined?
I'm going to say 10 years, 5 sequels and 1000 dollars worth of dlc.

Hasn't Mass effect always been the unreal engine? I would have though UE4 was for the next one. or did they say something about frostbite? I'm out of the loop on it

They have said they will be using frostbite for the new one. EA has pretty much told all of its devs they will be using frostbite. Will save them on licensing fees.

This game as a Launch title for my PS4 could be really good. I wish they can have maps with Snow, Rain, Night and Day, Sunrise/Sunset and Thunder Storms.

I said I was not going to buy a PS4 to play a game that I can also play on the PS3 but... it can be much better and I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with hype levels when the time comes.

All previous ME games have indeed used UE3. However, Bioware stated that they will be using their EA's in house engine Frost bite 2 for next generation of ME games. It makes given the internal support they will receive that the lack of licensing fees.

9/10 NeoGAFfers don't understand statistics. The other 3/10 don't care.
Let me beach the aircraft carrier, like in the old days!

this 100x

Naval battles, screw those who said this is an expansion to bf3 only.

Like naval battles couldn't be added to BF3? "Naval Superiority" Two fleets battle it out for control of vital shipping lanes - destroyers, subs, and carrier.

Would only require 4 new vehicle models, some minor coding, and a new map.

I want to get excited for BF4, but everything just screams expansion pack. Literally the exact same art style so far in the teasers.

They didn't have machine guns, but BF2: Spec Forces had jet skis. One of the best BF expansions, so many cool things added that they haven't put in any BF game since. Nothing like flying a helo with night vision!
Yea that expansion was killer. I dug the grappling hook. Climbing up to a balcony with your whole squad was awesome.

Ok, I'm sold. Getting BF4 for ps4 definitely now. Also, a bit of speculation- BF 2142 expansion for BF4 ala the Vietnam one in BC2? Could anyone see that happening?

So many people complain about Origin, EA, Premium and Battlelogs.

Oh submarines you say? Take all my money!!

i dunno, i've not had any problems with Origin or Battlelog and Premium was the best season pass OF ALL TIME.

EA is a bit scummy but <3 DICE and CUT THE CHECK

BATTLEFIELD, OUT OF 10 I GIVE U A 9 AND IM THE 1 U NEED

This is hilarious.

Assassin's Creed 3 had success with naval missions. Now EA wants to rip it off and use it in BF4. Brilliant.

that's how i felt when they added weapon unlocks... copying COD... really? REALLY?

and then they added capture the flag and i was disgusted at how they just cloned Halo's iconic mode.

Looks like my wishes were right on the spot and have come true.. I knew they'd return to naval combat eventually considering how often it's brought up, but I wasn't exactly sure if it would be in BF4 though. It makes sense considering they need to convince people it's a true sequel regardless of how recently BF3 came out.

"That will never happen."

Edit: And to say they're copying games like ACIII is absurd considering the first damn BF game on PC had HUGE naval combat and it's been requested ever since. I seriously don't get why everything is considered a clone now even when they've done it before. Like others, I can't tell what's sarcasm on here anymore considering just how many ludicrous comments are made these days.

DICE is totally copying off of themselves from a decade ago!
