I'm in a predicament, you guys. ): Suzune and Daidouji just came out as DLC for Senran Kagura and I reeeeally want to buy and play as them, but I should be getting my copy of Kaizoku Musou 2 tomorrow and would prefer to play that on my main account. WHAT DO I DO?! D:

one piece always wins... that is a firm rule you can't break.

edit: top of the page recommendation... charge your vita you never know when you needed.

I've played it and love it, haven't finished it yet. I have alot of games I haven't finished yet...sigh. I love what they did with the sound in the game, headphones are required.

Well, you have to finish the first game to play the second. If I were you, i'd be looking at getting short fun games, you really don't need to clog up your backlog anymore with long RPG adventures.

gee, is that a cursor I see :/ I haven't played the game, is there a reason why it wouldn't be touch implemented?
you can also use the touchscreen and touchpad in the back, why a cursor you say? well this is a pc game that was ported, a point an click game, so yeah, the cursor is kinda needed on this types of games

Aha, but what if collecting games on your Vita IS a meta-type game.

how long does it take to beat gravity rush?

Not too long. It's a pretty straight forward game. You've got like 20 chapters or so to count down from.

I still haven't unlocked the item world in Disgaea 3. Gotta finish this last area in chapter 1 to unlock grind mode I guess.

Sigh... Does this mean we have to wait longer for our PSN credit?

Im pretty much ready to call it quits on disgaea. Im three hours in, at the star of chapter two. The game seems unpolished in a weird way, like the overworld and character movement in it. Also, the story is really really bad. Give it more time or just do P4G?

Virtua Tennis looks amazing. One of the few games that actually made me go "wow" on the vita. Dat resolution and dat frame rate!

The main page says "Your referral period has ended" for me. Are they doing another round for people who didn't get the email the first time or something?

Ok, so i'm indecisive, deal with it. I put a pin on getting Etrian odyssey till next paycheck and decided to go for both Totori and EDF while its on sale. That leaves me with $20 I need to spend to hit $100 for the $20 back in april. I already got Strangers Wrath a couple weeks ago when it was on sale (still haven't even booted it up once. I got a collecting problem and need help I know). Here are my options i'm looking at.

$10 Range

Persona PSP on sale
Persona 2 Eternal Punishment (I have 2 psp haven't touched yet and still have P3P to beat)
Star Wars zen Pinball table pack
Sine Mora
When Vikings Attack

$20 Range

Legend of Heroes TiTS (yes, I still haven't picked it up yet I know, its on my damn list OK!!)
Corpse Party Book of Shadows
Lets Fish
Sonic Racing Transformed (I played the demo, eh, I would consider it)
Peace Walker (I got MGS HD Coll Vita on sale a couple months ago, i've played a little bit, not excited about the series but willing to complete collection)

You don't own Sine Mora after some of the ridiculous sales on it in the past month or two?
Shame on you.

Not impressed with Disgeae at all. GAF's love for this series is mind boggling.

simply put it's not a game for everyone.
if you enjoy srpgs, and like over the top stuff it's a great game, if not then odds are you won't enjoy it all that much.

Personally I find the disgaea series more enjoyable than bioshock, halo, call of duty, assassin's creed, killzone, uncharted, and gears of war combined, but I can understand perfectly fine that not everyone would feel that way :p

I feel the same way. Disgaea is the perfect pick-up-and-play game for me, but whenever I do play it, I always end up spending at least an hour at a time. >.>

I tried to get into it but I felt EXTREMELY in over my head to the point where I had no idea what I was doing. I do like big numbers and would love to just grind on the couch but apparently I'm too dumb to play that game :(

the main problem with disgaea (as a srpg) is that the mechanics feel really simple at first (not a lot of skills, it's a simple you go they go) yet at the same time really complex (a lot of little things that you have no clue what they do)., especially compared to a game like FFT. Early on it's a lot of why are people excited about this, FFT had a lot more going for it.

and then later you start to figure out exactly how much depth disgaea has, and how many mechanics you overlooked and it just becomes addicting to get more powerful, at least that is how it seems to go with most disgaea fans :p

So, this is pretty cool. PlayStation Mobile is getting a game based off of a Tweet from Peter Molydeux, a parody account for game designer Peter Molyneux. The same developers are working on a separate project called "Oh, Deer!" that features music from Motohiro Kawashima, who previously did music for the Streets of Rage games.

I have to say, there's actually a few PlayStation Mobile games I'm legitimately looking forward to. They all look like games that could've come out before I was born, but hey, I hear 3D is a pain to do well on the PSM SDK.

You really need to spend some time to learn some of the more important game mechanics to get the most out of Disgaea. Experiment a bit to find out what works for you and what doesn't. I've played all 4 games released in the US so far, and there are still a few game mechanics that I rarely use.

If you want to give it another try, I know the Disgaea 3 (PS3) page at GameFAQs has a few helpful guides.

either do that or just actively ignore all of the game mechanics aside from stronger weapon = more damage, and stronger armor = less damage taken and just power yourself through item world when you are to week to go on with the story lol... it might help to eventually realize that if you power through an item it gets stronger, but it's not necessary you can just grind to win the story :p

3d in general is a pain for most indie developers... almost no one likes how the n64/ps1 3d looked, nor how early ps2 3d look, and the budget required to get past that level is substantially higher than just making a snes level game.

Thanks, Ill definitely do that when I pick it up again. Usually when I put down a game I come back to see if I like it later on, usually helps. Might do it tomorrow.

If you need any help just ask, I can't promise i will be around, especially since I am going home to deal with a death in the family (no condolences needed, the main point is I will be busy with things just not on neogaf) but if I am free I will be bored and willing to help... mechanically I am weakest at disgaea 3 knowledge compared to the others(only 30 or so hours in disgaea 3 compared to 500 in 2 and 50 in both 1 and 4), but hey finding the info and repeating it out will strengthen my know how so when i start d3 on the vita I can just abuse the crap out of everything and get to the new content i haven't seen.

This. I may pick it up again in a few weeks. Going in for surgery next months and won't be able to work for two weeks and will be generally off my feet for 3 months. I need something to take my mind off the fact that I won't be able to move around much.

how long does it take to beat gravity rush?

doing just the story without anything else,I'd say 5 hours max.

About what?

He's probably talking about Devil Summoner 2 remake and the announcement of the new Etrian Odyssey.... both of them which were LOCKED on 3DS to begin with...
.

I was talking about Dragon's Crown,no cross anything, full price,no LE and nothing,Atlus keep treating Vita and Vita owners as third class citizens, almost as they don't even want to release the game for Vita.

Question: if I have a retail copy of a game and wanted a digital version, will I lose my save or any updates + dlc I got?

I had a Vita since launch and i still have no idea how saves work!

The Disgaea 3 bubble with my save files worked fine after I switched from cart to digital. I recommend you back up the save through Content Manager before you download the digital version though.

TBH Atlus is treating every console like a red-headed stepchild. SMTIV looks like a Z-rate effort from them, and their other 3DS stuff looks like bottom of the barrel laziness.

So as long as I don't erase my bubble ill be fine? The digital will install on top of it like a patch?

I probably won't be able to go back to retail right?

Get ps+ and just upload to the cloud. Your save your work between the two. It's worked for my Wipeout, Uncharted and grav rush from retail to digital.

I just got done playing LBP vita with three random dudes and its was a lot of fun. They helped me get through a hard boss battle. The jumping mechanics still suck but they're ~somewhat~ alleviated by the hook they give you.

Yes, that was the case for me. You should be able to go back to retail if you can back up only the digital save file. PS+ cloud saving does that, but Content Manager Assistant backs up the whole digital game instead of just the save IIRC.

I got $10 from Sony this month, can I use it towards the buy $50, get $10 deal, or do I have to spend my own money? Thinking of spending the $10 towards one year of PS+.

Found this Divekick hands on video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PtTok4eDBM

The channel seems to have some good Vita related stuff too. I was trying to find a review for that Sudoku game that came out a few weeks ago and they actually have one.

It's run by our very own kassatsu, so it better have some good vita related stuff!

Edit: May as well mention it now, but I may have some trouble getting next month's thread up on time. If anyone wants to take up the mantle for next month, let me know! Otherwise I'll whip up something less than stellar.

So I have finally had a chance to replace my stolen vita, I now have a white one coming soon from Amazon. Im going to start making a list of games to pick up and its already getting pretty long. The indie explosion will be great for the Vita, atleast one my end.

So far the games im looking forward to picking up are Hotline Miami, Binding of Isaac, and Guacamelee, and maybe Frozen Synapse but videos for it look alittle confusing, but still pretty cool.

Plus a few games i have missed, and stuff like Dragons Crown, Ys, rainbow moon, and killzone should be pretty damn good.

Two questions though,

1. Does anyone know what happened to Kickbeat from Zen? I remember seeing a bunch of vids for it last year, and then it vanished, any news?

2. Can anyone please either tell me more about Frozen synapse, or point me to a good tutorial type video for it?

With all this indie news im kind of hoping we also get Bastion, and Fez though I know alot of people dont like Fish.
