Madrid is a shit club run by shit, funded by the state. News at 11.

(I hate when people say news at *whatever time*)

Rondon mate..Rondon.

The know how to park the bus very well and Rondon on is a great striker. Chelsea could find it tough.

Word.

Doesn't look like Rondon is starting though

I remember the Ken Dorsey run Miami teams were so loaded a decade ago that you would swear they could give the Browns or the Bengals a run.

For those wondering, college sports in the US are just academies for the pro level. The quality in many ways for football and basketball is just as good. And as Meier points out, some time preferred.

Some of the best sport years of my life. I've been going to games since I was a baby literally, and we sucked for so long and then that.

That is one thing which I just find so difficult to grasp. How? That's so awesome. As a college player you would feel like a King.

I guess it means they're also very well prepared for when/if they transition into the NFL.

Yeah, most NFL stadiums hold maybe 65-75k. There are 20 stadiums with an official capacity of over 80,000 in the NCAA (only 3 in the NFL). One of the main reasons the crowds are so big is that the universities are much, much older than the pro teams typically. There's more tradition built in.

Don't do this, FF.

I'm serious though. We watch football because anything can happen, even someone like Ronaldo has won a ballon d'or, BATE beat Bayern, Milan beat Barca, Malaga are close to reaching semi's, etc.

A 2-0 win, go to extra time and beat Bayern there or in shoot outs just doesn't seem that impossible to me.

:lol those threads are death traps. No idea how strict the mods are with that stuff, perm? temp?

I think it was only a 1 week ban.

Letters is also banned btw, forgot why, he is a Madridista though. #FreeLetters(the porto fan), #freeBacon.

Hardly the only case of an african player with a false age, I know. Apparently Taribo West was already 35 when he joined Inter. His professed age at the time was 23, lol.

I've always loved the anecdote about the time he went to Lippi, bible in hand, and demanded he put him in the starting XI, because that's what God said to him. "He said nothing of the sort to me" was Lippi's response, haha. Marcello <3 Taribo later became a preacher of sorts. Legend.

Don't forget that the US is also a lot bigger and universities are more of a community than in the UK. US campuses dwarf anything here and by the same token you get more money there. Can't imagine a university here having more funds to spend on sport than a football club, plus the football club is a bigger foundation of local community here.

In fairness, we're a bit weird here, most European clubs are sport clubs with a multitude of teams represented, like Barcelona will have basketball, handball as well as football. Even volleyball.

There are some boss videos on Youtube of PAOK and AEK fans at basketball games going mental. Lech Poznan get hundreds turning out for their Under-12s!

Is Torres really wearing that black face mask? Does he think it will give him Ba's powers?

Sviatoslav I was looking at my ultimate team for the first time in weeks and I had Rubin Kazan's home kit equipped O_O

I'm starting to lean towards being on team Koofoo now. Just because Benfica is unbeaten in the shit Portuguese League doesn't mean they're any good. They even lost to Spartak this season. Spartak!

Newcastle could easily beat them.

It's possible if we had Vidal. He scored half our European goals or something.

And without Licht, we're now exposed on both flanks, lol.

Taribo West, Partizan legend. He put Alan Shearer in his pocket in that CL qualification round back in 2003. Apparently, he was 40 years old when he joined us

What game are people watching? I'm gonna go for Spurs unless they're comfortably up, and then I'll switch to the Newcastle game.

Benfica - Newcastle. Want Benfica to win so I can see Andres & Kyofu reactions. Except that I don't favour any team lol.
