Clearly they need someone like Pardew to solve their CL problems.
But I agree with you, CL teams should not be allowed to enter this tournament, what's the point of it if they can? If they want the third placed teams in the CL group stages to keep playing they should create another tournament called 'CL shit teams' and go with that.

Benfica, Chelsea and Ajax all went out in the group stages and all played in the EL....yet Ajax was knocked out and these two get to play in their arena :lol

I will say this, even though I'd be happy for us to win the EL, it wouldn't reflect that well on our season. At best we get top four while winning a trophy that we're in only by virtue of screwing in the CL. Not great when you consider we were in the running for many more trophies at the start.

Edit: Suen, whoever wins this match will most likely not be fancied against either of the German teams. I just feel we have unfinished business with that cup, didn't turn up against Athletico and were rightly beaten easily.
Mourinho's Chelsea will be a force in Europe.

That game was so one-sided. Chelsea simply didn't seem to give a fuck, meanwhile you could see how hungry Atletico was for that win. Falcao was amazing. Best part was Torres reaction after the first goal came....bet he wished he still played for them in that game :lol
No Mou at Madrid is going to be strange...the Mou and Pep times :'(

It's not hate, it's the truth. Just look at Unai Emery. Finishes third in La Liga with Valencia for 3 years in a row(aka the best position possible) then comes to Spartak and gets shitcanned in half a season with Spartak in 8th or 9th? place.
Exactly. Assuming we win the final, I'd like to see us have another go and actually care. Besides, if we were to win the EL and Super Cup, that'd be the three European trophies wrapped up in 18 months. Not spectacular or anything, but not bad.

It wouldn't be bad and if you have a top striker by that time (+ Mou) things could look really bright. You have lots of promising talent there and it's definitely starting to show. Benfica won't be easy to beat though and they will probably be very motivated to have their revenge

Once he take off the mask he'll go back to being average and when you get Falcao he'll be sent back to Atletico. Lolerpool has no place for him, they have their werewolf. What I really hope though is that you guys lose, don't get Falcao and by some miracle keep Benitez for another season. Would be glorious!

Players like Hulk? You mean shitty Brazilians? Yeah Spartak loves those. Ari, Welliton, Rafael Carioca, Romulo, etc. If you mean do they spend money, then yes they do. They've spent about 80 million on players in the last 3 seasons but not on one single big price tag player like Hulk. Frankly, they have some nice attacking talent but they have horrific defending. Even Vermaelen would say got dam! if he saw some of it. Fun team to watch though. Valeri Karpin is their coach, you might know him, he played in La Liga in the 90s and early 2000s.
As for CSKA they're only 3 points ahead of us( maybe even less if that court case goes our way!), they were 8 points ahead only 3 games ago. They're in a full blown meltdown.
