Well we already knew that smash would be there and they told us mario kart would be playable but I want a playable smash.

Anyway Hype train boarded because we are closing in to E3 now.

It looks like there will be a much bigger focus on Wii U rather than 3DS in the coming weeks. Now I know how Wii U owners must have felt
lol no I'm playing Fire Emblem

Please understand.

But seriously guys, it's Nintendo. I highly doubt all 3 will be released this year. If they are, well I'm probably getting a Wii U.

2 out of the 3 is very likely to release this year, Smash Bros will probably be a 2015 title.

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
It's a safe bet to assume that both Mario and Mario Kart will be launching this year. Wii Sport U will probably be unveiled as well.

Whatever the new Mario is please please don't be anything like Super Mario Galaxy or
Mario Sunshine
. If your gonna copy any of the previous titles please go back to the original gold standard for 3D platforming (Super Mario 64) I don't want a rehash but something in that vein where you can explore mini open worlds with different objectives and all kinds of neat hidden stuff would be so good.

"We are developing the new 3d mario. It's going to have jumping, new worlds, new content. The team is working hard right now on it, but it's still in early stages so we can't show footage. Here's a screenshot on Nintendo website. pls understand."

I'm convinced that's what it'll be. If they had actual things to show they would have their own conference. Cancelling conference is so they can avoid having to damage control.

I'll believe it when I see it. We're talking about the company that has delayed stuff constantly from Nintendo Ultra 64 in 1995 to Pikmin 3 launch Window in 2012.

2015 game? Why they even show the game this early??... damn

That's me speculating at least.

If it is a 2015 title the only reason they are showing it off this early is because it will help the Wii U at E3.

Yeah but I think they know that they have to release 3D Mario and Mario Kart 8 this year.

Nintendo is pretty much pulling a 3DS Holiday 2011 with Wii U.

I'm hoping they return to the Super Mario 64 2 concept that Miyamoto was supposively working on. I believe in an interview, conducted with Nintendo Power a long time ago, he stated that the demo they had created allowed for simultaneous co-op with Mario and Luigi. Obviously nothing came of it, but now split-screen and hardware limitations are no longer a problem for such an idea with WiiU.

3D Mario and Mario Kart have been confirmed to be playable at E3 since January. Smash reveal was also confirmed in January.

Wether we get screenshots or a trailer is unknown (Iwata said screens, but Sakurai tweetet he wants to give us "more", so its wait and see...).

Smash won´t be playable though.

If they're smart, they'll show a couple screenshots at the pre-E3 Nintendo direct, and then do what they did with Brawl and wait until Night 1 or 2 of E3 and drop the Smash trailer then.

Stupid logic if I've ever seen it.

Not going to happen.

- Iwata confirmed that both Mario 3D and Mario Kart WiiU will be playable at E3 in the Jan. Nintendo Direct.
- CVG and other sources point to a 2013 release for at least Mario 3D.

Ugh. No they won't. Unless they're flat-out stupid, I'm sure they've been feverishly working on a 3D Mario for months now. They've got to have at least 2 minutes of footage.

You seem awfully confident about this.

Super Mario 64 was the most groundbreaking 3D Mario because it was the first. Galaxy improved on it in every way.

Smash Bros will release earlier rather than later. This is because Smash is a money maker and a system seller - something Nintendo needs badly.

Why are you quoting him now I have to read his posts anyway

Can't wait for 3D Mario. EAD Tokyo is one of the best studios in the best. They can't go wrong.

SM64's platforming is outdated and inferior in every way to both Galaxies. Boring worlds with a few secrets does not make a good platformer. If I want an adventure game they already have a much better series for that.

A 2013 release would be glorious.

Almost 0% chance.

Glorious, but considering how Nintendo is currently spacing out releases, early 2014 is a more likely bet. If they have new 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Yarn Yoshi and Wind Waker HD in the fall, then that will probably be more than enough from them, especially considering they have major 3DS titles like Pokemon and LttP 2 coming out as well.

I love Galaxy, but it's not really an improvement over 64. It's really a different game. 64 was all about exploring a fully 3D world. Sunshine had a lot of this too, but Galaxy is very linear.

Fine, but let's also not deny that an open-world Mario would make most of GAF wet themselves, and 64 was the closest to that.

(But yeah, I'm also not expecting a 2013 release. Early 2014 sounds likely, to me.)

I think they are absolutely the best faction developing games for Nintendo right now. The only problem is that we have yet to see the expansion we originally hoped for in 2003, they seem to only be working on one main game that has become a bit heavy of asset reuse since Galaxy 2.

I'm dying to see a new Mario 3D concept, and at least a second main franchise being developed alongside. Star Fox by EAD Tokyo? Something big.

Not really excited about Mario Kart and Smash Bros, they've pretty much depleted the possibilities, and the last iterations felt kind of stale because of that.

Definitely interested in new Mario, and regardless there's gonna be a ton of games that are at least worth checking out.

Hopefully that Sonic vs Mario Kart Rumor is true, only way I could possibly care about the series going forward.

And Nintendo's 125th anniversary.

Wow, Nintendo could run a pretty good ad campaign with this kind of thing, not that they will.

We'll need some major footage and demo action from all three. Nothing less is acceptable.

This. Also a new Nintendo franchise please. Retro's shooter too.

And I really hope the game (3D Mario) is a visual showcase at 60fps for the system. Take what they learned from the Galaxy series visually, and actually make the game as challenging as some of the later sections in NSMB WiiU.

Some online features would help ( 4p time attack race?).

And SSB U + 3DS better have some god tier netcode. No excuse this time.
