Don't miss the BaraBariBall stream tonight at 7pm central time broadcasted via VGbootcamp from the UFGT in Chicago!

BaraBariBall is a sport+fighting game I'm working on. Learn more here.

Get Hyped (not an option).

Looks like so much fun. Just looked at the site and I guess this is part of SportsFriends? When will it be available?

Hahaha, we'll find out in the near future. I have some IRL stuff to take care of now, but soon...

IDK, my PC uses an inbuilt video card. Even 1080p videogame trailers choke it up a bit.

Thanks, I appreciate that. At one point when my stick kept messing up I thought about taking it to Markman to use it as a conversation point, but then I figured the problem out. That would have been a funny way for him to meet me, haha...

I'm not too heavy on getting buddy-buddy with the popular guys. It's not like we'll see each other ever again. I suppose that if I started to go to majors more often, I would get into top 32 for Marvel here and there, and people would just start to recognize my name.

Honestly I'd suggest it just for pure information. Sometimes a different opinion from someone you respect can really help you out. I got some super solid advice from Mike Ross about how to play Chun that I had never heard before, and I know he doesn't even play her. Tournaments are equally a great time mixed with an unbelievable amount of access to resources to improve yourself as a player.

Also gambling.

If I ever meet FChamp, you can bet that I'll ask him for feedback on Dormammu stuff!

I don't gamble, though. None of that stuff is interesting to me. I couldn't ever play for money.

Cool, I'm glad you had a good time. I remember a few months back, you were saying you had no interest in really going out to local events and only recently have you started to. Between those events and attending UFGT, I'm pretty happy to see you really getting yourself out there. It really does make the love of fighting games feel that much more rewarding.

Seems to be a lot of drama about UFGT. Dunno if word of mouth, random twitter drama/rambling and "talk show" twitch. Is the right way to go about getting any "wrong Doing" out there.

Most of it was Fanatiq, who absolutely deserved to be called out/exposed for his behavior, so that other TOs wouldn't fall victim to it.

The injustice thing is something where I think they're justified in being annoyed- it's a Marquee game right now, and to have GFs early in the AM after giving them a late-night top 16->8 slot is not good scheduling.

Word, having Injustice at 9am and then that Bari Ball whatever last on the second stream was ridiculous.

It's not that I wasn't interested in local events, I just wasn't interested in traveling. It takes me 45 minutes to get to locals (20 min drive), and it was 2 hours to get to UFGT despite it being a 30 minute driving distance from me because of Chicago traffic. I decided that I don't want any regrets, though. And I was really starting to get pissed off by Marvel's netcode. :p

Most complaints were about having to get up so early. I thought start time for Injustice was moved back to accommodate them.
I was up at 5AM on Saturday, and 7AM on Sunday. The room was almost empty until 11AM, haha.

I honestly doubt that my PC can handle Skullgirls. It can't even run Dungeon Defenders perfectly at its lowest specs. I'll purchase the PSN version - thank you. Now I have to read a ton of material and learn stuff. I don't even know who the 5 characters are
except for Beowulf because he sucks
.
Well, SolarPowered keeps trying to sell me on Mike Z's claim that even the shittiest of shitty laptops will be able to run Skullgirls so there's that (I'll believe it when I see it). Check out the Painwheel scetion of the Skullheart forum for more stuff on her. Someone there wrote a really helpful guide for her.

Beowulf is pretty bland compared to the rest of cast. Maybe he'll have cool mechanics though.

20 minutes each way is nothing haha. I used to regularly travel 1hr45 to my local arcade and when I was living in socal, it was 50 minutes for me to get to WNF from work (30 to get home). Small travels like that are totally worth it for doing something you really enjoy though.

edit: tik-tok I'm back but I can't make it this wednesday most likely. Got in a car accident this morning on my way to work and my vehicle's out of commission for a little while. Need to wait for insurance to get things sorted.

I don't think it'll run too well on an integrated card. A shitty dedicated card? Yep, but I'm not counting on Intel 4000 too much.

Sometimes bland is good. This is especially the case in a game like Skullgirls.

Beowulf looks even worse than Filia, and that's saying something. I plan to do a lot of forum reading when I get some time in. Oddly enough, I want to catch up on what's coming out for the game in the future more than research my character at the moment. Brain Drain animating Painwheel made me even more sad that he's not in the game.

I meant that's a 20 minute theoretical drive. It's twice as long or more because of traffic jams in reality. Chicago has really bad traffic, and there's no way around it. :-(

That sucks dude, are you ok?
Are you in KW or outside? I always forget if you're a dirty Cantabrigian or from Guelph or osmething.

Also, I can't believe people from Cambridge have such an noble sounding name. I looked it up if you're wondering ;)

We'll see!

Sure, which is why I wasn't unhappy that he made it in. I'm sure that I'll end up liking him more when Alex actually has a chance to give him a personality.
I still would have preferred Ileum or Beatrix.

There may be someone in the thread who can give you a rundown on all the proposed changes so far. Another way to keep up with potential patch changes is to check out the Salty Cupcakes archives on twitch.tv/eightysixed or just watch the next one this Thrusday. You'll probably want to ask someone for the timecodes for patch talk first though, unless you feel like watching hours of Skullgirls matches with mostly irrelevant commentary. It's worth noting that pretty much everything is still subject to change. Mike brings a new slightly different build with him every week.

Brain Drain would have been rad. Panzerfaust was my personal favorite.

yeah I'm mostly fine, might have a concussion but I doubt it.

Yeah living in cambridge still but don't think of me as a local haha. I think I'm moving back to Toronto in september anyways. We'll see.

It comes out later this year. Fall at the earlist. Releasing on PSN first.

The tournament was a ton of fun. Lots of good players picking up the game quickly. My fellow developer and I recorded some great matches. We'll be posting some of that material soon.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Caught the stream today, good stuff. Is there any hope for any online, like if it sold really well?

There's always hope for great features like online play if the game does really well. We have a lot of features we'd love to work on including new characters (of course. who doesn't want more characters?). We also understand how important online support is for games like this.
