Mirror's Edge 2 - Help Center site appears on EA.com

If this is true, I'm much more shocked at the fact that the current EA actually let DICE make a sequel in the first place considering Mirrors Edge's critical and sales performance.

Please let it be true T_T....

Mirror's Edge is one of those games that probably sold better a year or two after it came out.

I can't fucking wait. THANK YOU BASED EA.

Xbox exclusive would be the stupidest shit ever. Dudebros shunned Mirror's Edge.

Hi, I bought the 360 version of Mirrors Edge, please be seated.

Didnt they publish Ninja Gaiden 2? Look what happened. Also I believe Sony funded LA Noire. So this means nothing
Ninja Gaiden 2 was some shady shit. I was kind of angry when Temco announced that they were using the money I'd given them for NG2 to produce a better version for a system I didn't own at the time. I loved Ninja Gaiden 2.

Then I bought NG2S recently and it's not really any better so I'm okay again.

Can't wait to see people flip-flop if this is Xbone exclusive.

more excited for the flip-flop after E3.

i'm not excited for the Xbone at all but i'm pretty damn sure they are going to be showing a lot of games this e3 to quell the hate....or i hope. because i don't want to watch an uninteresting conference.

Kb/Mouse for Mirror's Edge >>>> controller. it shouldn't work...but it does and it's perfect

This game would probably do a hell of a lot better now. It's built up enough cred for it to be of interest to people.

Were also looking at a world were free running is even more popular now than when ME1 first came out. I'm imagining a sequel will be heavily pushing that angle.

For all those people marveling at how the diminutive sales of the original merit a sequel - didn't dead space do just as poorly?

I'm kinda disappointed this is happening because I thought the idea of Star Wars'ifying it could have been amazing. Set it after episode 3 have you playing as a Jedi on the run from the empire.

crazy buttocks hinted at a PC version. Provided there's no forced Kinect shit in Mirror's Edge 2, it will be the appropriate way to middle finger Microsoft.

I would not be surprised to see a few Xbone "exclusives" launch on PC at the same time, much like the 360 generation.

Well, perhaps there's more to the EA deal with MS than 'timed exclusiveness of sports games' so ME2 being a Xbox One/PC deal only could fit right in.

wit this game, ms wants you to buy their console, so they're not getting it on pc soon. I can see 1 or 2 years delay.

Depends, I'd wager six months to a year. It'll definitely sell consoles but as time goes on its usefulness in doing that declines. Early gen moneyhats are usually about brand association above all else, which can be seen with Mass Effect, and that'll happen regardless if the game is exclusive for four months or 2 years. The former just costs less for Microsoft.

Publisher's take these deals because they can have their cake and eat it too. They get Microsofts moneyhat, the XBone version revenue, and then the multiplatform revenue later on.

That is, of course, if this isn't on PS4,Xbone and PC.

This is looking more and more likely. Though, I wonder if my PC will even be able to handle the sequel. Mirrors Edge was such a beautiful game, however I could only experience it with Medium graphics settings.

That'd be terrible. A good portion of what makes the Mirror's Edge experience so good was the phenomenal art direction. Slapping a Star Wars-themed coat of paint all over that would be tragic.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me. Would like to see Quantum Break there too, but somehow given the prominence Microsoft gave it I don't think it's going to be Alan Wake'd. And the fitting in with their "TV, TV, TV" philosophy of its bizarre game design, I'm not sure it's going to hit PC.

Forza 5 is the real loss for me :(

Mess. So no exclusives? Well I guess they did start the whole "console exclusive" thing

Oh, I'm just speculating. It will have exclusives, as all consoles do. But I also wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of timed exclusives, and Xbone + PC launch exclusives, like the Xbox 360. Getting an Xbone into every home and making it the lounge room centrepiece requires squashing Sony more than PC.

Think BioShock, and to a lesser extent Oblivion.

It's a totally random "idea" to me. We'll see I guess.

it would be hilarious if Microsoft got Mirror's Edge to try to engender hardcore support, and then they cut that goodwill off at the ankles with a pure Kinect experience lol

Well, they publish their own games on PC, such games will only appear on Windows, and Windows is a Microsoft platform. So it's a bit like a game appearing on PS4 and Vita, it's still Sony exclusive. Only difference is that MS doesn't take a cut from PC game sales.

He also said this so if he does have inside info then we're fucked.

In the way that they turned Dead Space from a truly unique survival horror sci-fi shooter into a more "mass IP" with more shooting, less horror, and "buy gun parts with real money! Speed up your supplier robot by paying just a buck!"

And the protagonist will be a guy this time around I'm sure. With lots of gunplay in the trailer.

It's a shame I can't celebrate the all-but-confirmed return of Mirror's Edge because I'm too busy fretting over whether it's Xbone exclusive or not. It's not that I mind buying a console for a killer app, but y'know... Xbone.
