If you have a shiv or a pipe clickers are really defenseless lol

No, it is a recent build apparently.

(I'm assuming) It can't be too recent, they are missing some toggles in the options menu that are there in other, more recent demos.

But the HUD seems updated since PAX, so... then again, Idk lol.

I've done a recording of the whole demo in 1080p using HDMI in mp4 for use on the PS3 video player. It's 2.4GB. This is for those who can't get access to the demo.

Any suggestions on where to host it for people to download? Would it be ok to link to a file sharing site such as MEGA? Don't want to get banned.

I love how there is no lock to cover. You can duck and you will push up against cover if you are close but it feels nature and not sticky.

Also, after so much Uncharted, it feels weird that you are always facing forward in the camera. He doesn't swivel around like drake.

Very nice of you.

Mega is acceptable here.

I just played the demo and I must say I really enjoyed it. I first played on Normal mode to get a sense of the game-play. The visuals and the atmosphere are great, the game looks really good to me. The music, sound effects and the clickers all combine for some tense moments.

I kinda breezed through Normal mode, so played through again on Hard mode. I think this or the Survivor mode (didn't play this mode) will really be the optimal way to play for the full experience. The enemies were much more aggressive and I even died a couple times thinking I could just run and shoot (like Uncharted). I really had to switch my thinking and strategy to take down enemies one by one, which was a big plus. Overall, this demo has me wanting more and I plan on now buying this game.

Dude, that knee to the head needs to be gif'd so hard. Yikes.

I agree.

Nothing wrong with it, I just rather hear from someone who was neutral or even negative about the game going into it.

Then I would recommend you check out TheSixthaxis review. In their last podcast they were pretty disappointed with the demo that they played.

Just played the demo and yes, the graphics are solid. Really good stuff.

Died a few times in the final sequence, then "bam" it's over. Unfortunately it was really really short, I was loving it. :p

mega or piratebay/minova for torrent? You made it I think you can host it wherever.

wondering, would one of our "beta" accounts register the download of the demo on the download history? and if so, would it have unlimited uses? Maybe it's time for someone to setup an account for that so we can all enjoy it :(!

God's had his chance.
Got into this last night and went through it about 4 different times.

1st time through the group of infected was some of the most intense shit i've done in a game for a looooooooong time.

By the 4th round i was cursing the gods that the ps3 doesn't have a share button. The first time you fight off 2 runners with a pipe (back and forth smashing) pausing mid beatdown to shiv a clicker - only to bust one runners skull and then handgun execute the other?

holy shit. I finally understand what they were trying for in the uncharted melee stuff. There is a meatiness and grit and weight to the melee combat here that uncharted never got anywhere near. Really really well done...

The environment kills are all stellar as well. they flow much MUCH better than uncharted.

guys ,played it 3 times now ,never get the chance to find a / the pipe .where is it really?

Literally right in front of you when you drop into the room with all the infected. On the left just a few steps before the end of the interior wall.

There is no pipe in the demo while playing on hard... they are quite stingy with resources. In normal there are two pipes, and enough blades to mod one.

Not in hard though... haha.

Figured out Mulitiplayer, The Hunters vs Fire flys I bet its something like that. Deathmatch and survival etc.

I am seriously excited to dress up a hobo and play class warfare. Seriously.

Hehehe I was looking at the previous demos on line, I know the Hunters dont care bout no one but themselves and probably thats questionable. The Fireflys are the good guys who probably help etc, I can see them doing something to that extent. Search for supplies etc. @Black Im sure they probably have some sort of thing where you see them based on their movements, sounds they make. Well u know hehe

I wasn't a big fan of Uncharted, I thought all three games were about 7/10 material, but this demo was something special :O

Anyone else agree? You basically have no ammo and have to play very carefully (on hard at least), I haven't played a game like this ever.

So how is it GAF? Day 1 purchase?

I pre-ordered it last year

Lol, dat hyperbole, especially from a gif where grass pop-ups 10 meters from camera.

You took the time to come into this thread only to single out the only post that had a negative undertone towards PC gaming. Hmmmmm

anywho
Judging by some of the concept art we've seen in the past I'm betting the final location in this game is going make Uncharted 2' Shambhala look like a old worn down playground in comparison.

Idk... in TLoU it might actually be an old worn down playground.

But I'm sure it'll look ace.

Hmm, I'm undecided on if I want to play it on Hard first or wait and do that on later replays... I don't want it to be so hard that I'll find the game frustrating on my first playthrough, but I don't know how hard the actual difficulty setting matters in the game. For those who have played the demo multiple times on various settings, is there a big difference? Just less resources and enemies take more shots?

He is right though. I play a lot of PC games too! I really wish this were a PS4 exclusive.

I'm not saying he's wrong but I feel that there's no real reason to try and downplay the graphical significance of the TLoU just because he feels that it's not up to snuff with HIGH end PC standards.

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
seems like shivs are super important. doors and clickers both need em.

Clicker defense needs one but it's only needed for a stealth kill otherwise. They die in one hit of a melee weapon on hard, and even with a brick you can beat the shit out of them.

I would primarily keep them for doors, though one of the upgrades won't break the shiv when used vs. a clicker which would be really useful.

I am glad we supported this.

I'll admit I was afraid as all-hell with the countdown timer, and despite the massive network cataclysmic strike at 10AM yesterday, at this point, who the heck cares. You've got the demo far earlier than anyone else, that's all that matters in the end.

Naughty Dog is a rock's throw away from our studio, good lads, and one helluva game coming out in a couple weeks.

Cheers

I can't say whether or not enemies take more hits. But Joel can take less hits, and there's less resources for crafting.

I'm going to play on hard.
